CHAPTER 200

~RICHARD~

She had the hall fully decorated in different colors of balloons and flowers. It was literally a rainbow in here.

The music was soft, befitting for the kids, who had an entire segment for them, where they played with other kids.

When she said she wanted something extremely loud, she meant it and to think she put all of this together in two weeks; it was mind-blowing.

“Well done,” I whispered into her ears as I hugged her.

Everyone was happy and rejoicing. Everyone except K

CHAPTER 209~KIM~For days, I did nothing, but stare from the window. Day and night. The kids were now able to call for him and they did nothing but call for most of the day. We all missed him and not knowing whether he was fine or not, safe or not was the hardest part of the wait. Like every other day, I woke up that morning, readied the kids and was staring out the window early that morning, when the door behind me was pushed open. “Richard!” I called, and then rushed to him. He was weak, battered and looked ragged. “I need to shower and go down to meet…”“Absolutely not,” I did not let him finish. I didn’t have to. “Whatever meeting you have will have to wait.” I said, “Now, you will take a bath. I’ll go get you something to eat and you will sleep. Whatever meeting it is that you have will have to wait until after all of that.”“No! You don’t understand. This is urgent.” Richard insisted. “I bet it is,” I replied, helping him get to the bathroom. He could barely stand, but

  • The Alpha's Rogue Bride   Chapter 208

CHAPTER 208~RICHARD~I fled with everything in me, the lines between my wolf speed and my normal strength blurred pretty quickly.Thankfully, Jerry was an equally strong wolf and none of the men compared, so we somehow managed to elope them.Even though we could no longer hear their feet behind us, we did not stop running until we came to Joe’s tiny cottage.“Joe! Open up!” I banged the door with a sense of urgency that translated to aggression. It was as though he was waiting for us, not even letting us knock a second time, before pulling the door open.Jerry and I collapsed on the floor as soon as he let us in and Joe shut the door behind us.I used a few minutes to stabilize my breath, and when I was barely stable, I pulled a table and placed it against the door.“No one is coming to look for you here. Relax.” Joe said,“Well, you don’t know that now, do you?” I inquired.“What happened?” Ragner inquired.“I’m not quite sure we achieved so much, or anything at all,” Jerry replied,

CHAPTER 207~RICHARD~“Thank you, Joe. You’ve been more than helpful.”We shook hands at dusk in front of his cottage.Joe had to uphold his end of the bargain he had with his father and not meddle in the rogue business, but he had given us a lot of information, including directions to the rogue camp.“Who do you think the new leader is and what is the motive behind the attacks?” I asked Jerry as we started our journey to the rogue camp.“I have no idea,” Jerry replied.Ragner had decided to remain behind with Joe. For two reasons—he missed his friend and also wanted to stay away from the rogue business and frankly, I could live with that. So, for the rest of the journey, it was Jerry and I.There was silence for the most of it and what echoed in my head over and over were the words of Joe.His father led the rogues and they stayed away from my pack boundaries as I assumed that they should, but they were borderline and a new leader took over and now, even though they had nothing again

  • The Alpha's Rogue Bride   Chapter 206

CHAPTER 206~RICHARD~A thunderous roar filled the air and it shook the last of the birds or crawling insects nearby. You could hear them scrambling away in many different directions.I didn’t fret, not exactly from a place of bravery. I didn’t fret because I had given up and I was beginning to see things the way Jerry did.Thank the goddess that I had an heir.“What do you think that is?” Jerry whispered.‘The leader of the rogues,’ That was my thought and that would have been my answer, but Ragner beat me to it.“Joe!” he called in a loud, relieved tone.A giant wolf surfaced from behind the trees. It was the closest wolf I had seen to my size and had thick white fur. The fur was spotless and an absolute delight to the eye.“Step away from them,” he commanded the rogues. There was a familiar look in their eyes. The rogues did not seem terrified at all by his appearance. Even though he was comfortably twice their size.“Master Joe, we no longer take orders from you and we wouldn’t wa

CHAPTER 205~RICHARD~“We take off in one hour,” I knocked on Jerry’s door at four o’clock in the morning.“Did you get any sleep at all?” He was stretching out and rubbing his eyes when I left.“Get ready, Jer.” I said strongly and went to knock on Ragner’s door next.I hadn’t gotten any sleep. After aggressively walking out on Kim the previous night, I had been haunted by my own thoughts.I couldn’t deny the truth in what she was saying, but her observation was as real as the problems the pack was facing.Ever since all these attacks and internal betrayals I could not seem to bring an end to, I could not help but feel like a failure as an Alpha. It was like the pack was falling apart in my arms and there was nothing I could do about it.A part of me had explored the possibility that it was because I grew soft, forsaking everything and fighting for a peaceful and happy life with Kim.I got carried away in love, happiness and peace.I assumed Alpha as the youngest in my lineage, but I

CHAPTER 204~KIM~The whole night, I laid beside Richard and I could not sleep.Logan’s words continued echoing in my mind.He swore that he did not know any more than Richard was in trouble and I could not insist. The first time I tried to make a man give me information from the other side of those bars, a man lost his life and there was in fact, no information received.Maybe Logan truly did not know more. Maybe he was deciding not to tell me, because he strongly insisted on talking to Richard and Richard would not see him. Richard did not want to hear his name.Whatever it was Logan was talking about, even though I knew nothing of it, I believed him.I could not help but believe that something was terribly wrong and that Richard was in trouble. However, I was only going to be losing Richard if I should say that to him.A lot had been going on with Richard already and he was right to say he did not need any of this. He was not ready to deal with Logan right now and he could remain b
