LUPUS PACK

Kael arrived at the lupus pack by mid-morning. He had departed from his designated room at the sun gala before dawn. Earlier than most Alphas had gotten up.

“Alpha Kael” his right-hand Alpha, Julian appeared as soon as he dismounted his horse. Kael handed the reins to the Beta standing close by and looked at Julian.

“What was the situation while I was away?”

“I kept the forte down. Nothing unusual happened”

“No attacks?” Julian shook his head and Kael nodded. The attacks on the

  • The Alpha’s Scentless Breeder    120. AT THE MERCY OF THE MONSTER

Ezra tugged at the bars of the window. The hard metal gave a weak creak but stayed in place. Ezra groaned in frustration. There were only two windows in this bedroom and this one had the weaker bars. But clearly not weak enough that Ezra could even make an escape attempt. He sighed and moved away, testing the door next. The knob didn't turn and Ezra's head pressed into the door. "Damn it" he muttered under his breath as he stood there for a minute longer and then he walked back to the bed and sat on it. "I'm going to get you out of here!" He murmured and lightly caressed his stomach. Maybe it was the news but Ezra was beginning to feel a connection with the pup inside of him. Every move it made and every pulse of life. Ezra sighed again and looked at the window. Darkness had covered the sky. The end of another day. But Ezra didn't know what day it was. Did they find his message? Was Alpha Cage searching? His shoulders sagged and he sighed in defeat. Maybe Alpha Cage should

  • The Alpha’s Scentless Breeder    119. THE FALL OF ALPHA KAEL

The bed felt like a rock underneath Ezra. He couldn't relax no matter how hard he tried to. And whenever he tried to pace or walk to the window, a wave of nausea hit him and almost rocked him off his feet so he crawled back into bed for safety. Now, he lay on his side still holding his stomach while his heart thumped out of control. Since when had the baby been growing inside of him? His mind tried to recall when it could have possibly happened. An image of a child in his arms flashed back in his memory and he rolled onto his back. It had to have been on that night. Leon had suggested it but he'd dismissed the idea. It would have been too early to know then. But how did the healer miss it? Ezra sighed loudly. If he had known, he would never have left the Orion pack. Then, his baby would have been safe. He choked on a sob and rolled to his side again. How would Alpha Cage ever find out? And would he be happy to know he was going to have a pup? The thought of Alpha Cage made hi

  • The Alpha’s Scentless Breeder    118. A CRACK IN THE ALLIANCE

RESISTANCE HIDEOUT Kael stood outside, gazing out into the trees. His mind was conflicted. The last thing he’d expected to find out was Ezra’s pregnancy. In this situation, it made everything twice as dangerous. He huffed and dragged his fingers through his hair. If he had known… Ezra would have been safely tucked away somewhere else. ‘There’s still time,’ his wolf urged but Kael knew that was false. Darren had made his move and taken Ezra out of the Orion pack. Kael had to deal with the cover-up by leaving that letter they were bound to find. And with that, Cage wouldn’t be coming after them immediately. Not until the plan was fully set in motion. But suddenly moving Ezra now would be conflicting with Darren’s plans which would effectively affect their partnership. So Kael knew he had to take his time. Protect Ezra as much as he could and then once Cage was taken care of permanently, Darren would follow. He released a loud breath and walked to the edge of the property. Ezra

  • The Alpha’s Scentless Breeder    117. THE TRUTH BENEATH HIS ANGER

ORION PACK Cage glanced over the final formation plan for the attack as Slade paced in his office. He slowly looked up from the pile of papers with an irritated look. “Go for a run.” Slade huffed at the order. “A run isn’t going to do anything for me.” “It’ll deal with your agitation.” “I’m not agitated,” Slade muttered and slid into the chair in front of Cage's desk. Cage returned his gaze to the table and he pulled out the formation report alongside a small map and Slade growled. “You’re not the least bit bothered about this?” “We’re finalizing the attack, Slade. That is the most important thing right now.” “The pack is compromised.” Cage knew that a long time ago. But he’d believed none of them would be stupid enough to try something again after Alfred. “We can’t trust a word from the spies,” Slade grumbled. The wrong information had been deliberately passed the first time. “Then what’s your suggestion for the final location?” “Sydney.” “In case you failed to notice

Ezra gasped. His hands flew over his mouth and his eyes bulged as he shook his head over and over again. "No way" "I can smell it, Ezra" Kael said in a controlled voice. "It's impossible" Ezra shouted. The healer should have seen something if that were the truth. Kael was only trying to lie, just like he always did. "Shaking your head repeatedly doesn't make it less true. You are with child" Alpha Cages' child. A shudder ran through Ezra. How could it be? His mind went to the mark. It hadn't throbbed once or shown any sign of being alive since the distance between him and Alpha Cage grew. Ezra pressed his hand to his face. His mind was everywhere. "No" he muttered under his breath. "Ezra" Kael called sharply. The tone of his voice snapped Ezra back to reality and he looked up at Kael. Kael took a step towards Ezra but the growl from the omega made him pause. Ezra shook his head. "Don't come close to me" His hands cupped his stomach in a protective stance. Kael was the e

Ezra sat in the same position for hours. He had no idea how long it had been since Alpha Kael had left. He was in a constant state of anger and confusion. Mostly at himself. For being blind and too trusting. The door opened and Bill walked into the cell, a new cut above his eyebrow from the force the guards had used. He sat in the corner and watched Ezra closely. “He was the Alpha who was always around you,” he mumbled and Ezra looked up at him but said nothing. “When I watched you, he was always there,” Bill continued. “He’s no different from you,” Ezra said flatly and Bill growled. Ezra looked away from him, his eyes straying to the only window in the room. Light streamed into the small cell but the bars reminded him that he was a prisoner. “They’re not as formidable as we’ve been made to believe,” Bill said suddenly and Ezra looked at him with a confused frown. “What does that mean?” “The numbers in the resistance have dwindled drastically.” Ezra’s eyes widened in surp

Ezra stumbled backwards, heart still pounding in his chest in fear. The water rippled around him as he tried to move away from the domineering gaze of the wolf. "Step out," the command floated into his head, sharp and cold. It sank into his bones, absolute and heavy. Ezra's mind became m

  • The Alpha’s Scentless Breeder    1. THE AWAKENING

At the time the new batch of Omegas arrived at the Orion Pack, Ezra had the two most important rules etched into his brain. First, keep your eyes down and ask no questions. Second, don't ever cross Alphas. The rules were repeated severally that even the children knew them word for word. Ezr

"The invitation to the party doesn't extend to my pet, Kael," the rich masculine voice growled and Ezra stiffened. The alpha had walked fast, crossing the vast room in a split second. Too fast for Ezra to gather his bearings and not look like he was going to pass out at any moment. His heart thump

  • The Alpha’s Scentless Breeder    4. MEETING THE ALPHA

Ezra's mind was fogged up from the moment he opened his eyes. The sunlight above him was punishing. He stared at the clouds in confusion for a few seconds. He rolled over, and his body was stopped by a warm log. Ezra paused as his ears picked up the sound of a beating heart. Logs didn't have heart
