6. Not Finished Yet

Yuri’s pov:

Leo, this beast of a man, was as shameless as he was ruthless.

I wanted to hate him, for my past grievances, for the way he had mistreated me in my previous life, for the way he had neglected Violet, for all he had done – and everything he should have done but never cared to do.

I remembered all too clearly how he would never shy away from fulfilling his own needs, whether I liked it or not, often taking his own pleasure, but never giving me any. Worse, he used me as one would some nameless hooker, never bothering to leave an impression, as if I was only deserving of his scorn, never of his love.

And as he kissed me hungrily in the car, like a man possessed, like a man starved for intimacy, I couldn’t help but give in.
