CHAPTER 1

The sounds of the sword clashing loudly filled the entire atmosphere.

Soon, a soldier went flying on the ground, the fighter's hands were well-built, muscular, strong, and hard, and his veins were all visible.

The arrow was given to him and he stretched his hands forward, holding the bow firmly, reducing his eyes lid, he shot the arrow and it immediately hit the birds, the soldiers clapped and chorused.

His Hazel eyes were dark, with no smile in them, and his face was as cold as the mountains filled with ice.

He nodded his head and his beautiful long brown hair fell over his shoulder.

Water was given to him by his guard, he poured it on his face and threw the bottle away.

Yes, he is Alpha Jade, the most feared Alpha, when he roars, the earth shakes, hating the word mercy and sorry, he only wants everything to work the way he planned else, it will affect everyone.

He is naturally handsome, with a simple face, a pointed long nose, curvy lips, and well-shaped eyebrows, and all girls wish to see was his smile but that never happened as he never smiles and will never smile anytime soon.

"Greetings your highness." A guard greeted, his eyes strictly facing the ground as he won't dare look into his eyes.

"What?" Alpha Jade questioned, narrowing his eyes brows in a thick voice.

"Your attention is needed at the court, your highness, it's urgent." The guard answered, still bowing his head.

"I will be right there." Alpha Jade said and stormed out of the place as he threw the bow and arrow on the ground.

He walked to his chamber where his wife and mate were waiting for him.

He walked past her like she was invisible.

She was annoyed but not shocked as despite being his wife, she never gets to enjoy the love from him, what's important is she was regarded as the Luna of great Alpha in a great pack, getting respect from each angle and that may be enough for her.

"Alpha Jade!" She called loudly this time.

"I don't have time to listen to anything right now." He replied.

"You didn't even listen to me, you just concluded you won't hear it," Diane asked.

"I already knew your questions are stupid, I don't have time to listen to it." Alpha Jade answered and removed his shirt

She walked closer to him and started trilling her hands over his chest which he pushed away immediately.

"What's your problem? Do I look like I'm in a romantic situation right now? Get out of my chamber." He shouted.

"But I'm your wife Alpha Jade and..."

"Only because we were mated by the Moon goddess, I knew I could reject you at that instant but I don't want my pack to continue surviving without a Luna, know this and put it at the deepest part of your head, I don't love anyone, neither will I start from you, now get lost." He shouted and tears fell from her eyes which didn't move him one bit.

She ran out of the chamber crying while he hissed, he wore royal attire and headed to the court with four guards escorting him.

The court was noisy but immediately Alpha Jade placed his feet inside, the whole place went dead with no atom of noise again, even the sound of a needle can make the loudest noise in its current state.

They went on their feet with their heads facing the ground.

"Greetings Alpha Jade!" Everyone chorused, showing their respect.

He ignored all the greetings and went straight to his throne and settled down.

"Let the court begin." He ordered and everyone took their seats.

Mr. Chad stood up as usual to present the daily reports of the pack, the profits excluding the loss, Alpha Jade hated any kind of loss.

He presented the daily reports to Alpha Jade and he went through them.

"100 new cows, 1000 bags of rice, will this be enough to export to the neighborhood pack we were trading with?" Alpha Jade asked.

"Yes...yes your highness," Chad replied with his body shaking.

"Good, you didn't give me the income report, or do I need to ask before getting it?" Alpha Jade asked as his cold eyes sent fear to Chad.

Chad is the manager of the Dark Forest and he had been working with the Alpha for years, he tried as much,h to be honest, ass to be as the only punishment for betraying the Alpha is a death sentence.

With a shaky hand, he handed the other paper to Alpha Jade and when he read it, he stood up, the court members also did.

"Are you crazy! This is not the complete money." Alpha Jade shouted.

Chad was already shivering.

"Your highness....I...I..." He stammered.

"Speak to me, right now!" Alpha Jade roared, his eyes becoming red.

"I don't know how it happened, your highness, I swear everything was taken. I didn't know how it disappeared." Chad explained while crying, his body visibly shaking.

"You can tell others this nonsense but not me, you stole my money, you bloody thief!" Alpha Jade yelled.

Everyone in the court pitied him, as today will be his last day alive, as Alpha Jade will surely not make this excuse.

"Your highness I swear on the Moon goddess I didn't know how it happened I swear." Chad pleaded.

Without saying anything, Alpha Jade dragged his sword from its Pocket and everyone gasped.

Chad opened his eyes wide with his mouth open.

"No, no, please don't kill me, please your highness I swear I'm innocent." Chad pleaded almost peeing in his pants.

His heart was beating and all his veins appeared.

"Mom, please have this, Ronald collected it from the herbalist everyone was talking about, I'm sure you will get better," Janita said, staring at her sick mother who looked very pale and weak.

She was coughing badly, Janita watched her as tears fell from her eyes, with no money and no one to help, she lost hope only waiting for the miracle of the Moon goddess to happen.

She gave the medicine to her mom but she ended up coughing hard and bleeding through her nose.

"Oh my God! Mother!" Janita exclaimed and rushed to her.

Her mother was shaking and coughing blood.

"Please don't die, please don't leave me, I promise to look for the money so I can take you to the hospital, please don't leave me, You are the only one I have." Janita cried holding her hands.

Her mom held her hand tight forcing words out of her mouth.

"I...I don't think I will be able to...to live long my child...the pains are too much and unbearable... Please don't worry yourself, I know we can't afford my treatment, that's why you should allow me to die, so the suffering will end. I hate to see you in pain, my child."

Her mother whispered to her as the cough subsided.

"Stop saying this mom, you won't die, I can't live without you, you are the only one that remains for me, when the hardship becomes too much, staring at you alone gives me hope and a smile, Ronald promised to help, please hang on okay, don't leave me, because if you die, I will die with you too," Janita said and wiped her tears.

She hugged her mom tight, resting her head on her chest.

*BACK AT THE COURTROOM*

Alpha Jade already raised his hungry sword reading to slaughter Chad's head when someone stopped him.

"Wait, Alpha Jade." Ash, Alpha Jade's right-hand man interrupted.

"The money is here, we don't have to look at the report, I will count it myself," Ash said.

The fact that Alpha Jade respected him a lot and he is the only friend he had left him with no option but to take his sword back.

Chad already has closed his eyes ready to open them when he died but the words of Ash gave him hope, as he is the simplest, smartest, and most gentle person in the whole pack.

Ash counted the money and looked at Alpha Jade.

"The money is missing your highness," Ash announced.

"I know, you decided to turn me into a liar forgetting that no one is as smart as me." Alpha Jade bragged.

"Oh sorry about that." Ash chuckled.

"Now that it has been proven to everyone, I will punish this betrayer right here, right now, in front of everyone." Alpha Jade announced.

"No wait, I think Chad won't do this, he has been working here for ages and he never tried it once, he knew the consequences that will happen to him if he tried that, so I'm saying you should allow me to investigate this and give me a chance to find the real culprit," Ash said.

Alpha Jade stared at him.

"You have twenty-four hours to do that, and if you fail to find the culprit, I will behead this man and destroy his family." Alpha Jade vowed.
