Chapter 48
CHAPTER 48 – Rachel
I tripped along a dark corridor with the Triple A’s following closely on my heels. We were back in the warehouse where I had watched Susan Browning and Sven Draven be shot and killed by my mother. And yet I could hear Susan’s voice clearly barking out commands.
I didn’t stop to think about why we were there or how they had managed to kidnap up again. It seemed that my normal fears and limitations were muted, and I was going on gut instinct. I knew that I needed to see what was happening in the meeting.
A door opened, and Susan’s voice became louder than before. That was the room they were in. The person who had exited didn’t seem to see us at all and walked straight towards me until they walked right through my body.
A jolt of awareness rushed through me that something was off and everything started to fade.
