CHAPTER 70 – Amy
The palace guards were able to get the intruders taken into custody. But there was no sign of Margaret or Malcolm in the mix. We also were unable to figure out where they entered the palace.
Just as Brad had spirited me away in the passage in the wall, there were literally dozens of other hidey holes and secret tunnels that they could have entered.
When Henry made it back to us, he insisted that I leave the castle and once again go back into hiding. You can imagine my response.
“There is no way in hell that I am going back to live in a hole in the ground!”
Veti raised a brow and said dryly, “Come now, it wasn’t as bad as all that.”
I rounded on her with fire in my eyes. “I can’t believe that you are in on this! I thought of all people, you would support me.”
Veti looked wounded. “Amy,” she implored.
But I was not in the mood to listen.
