chapter 6

                                   Mina Wolf...

I woke up with a sever headache.

A skull splitting throb drummed its way form the center of my forehead up to the top of my head.

Letting out a soft groan, I pressed my right palm against my head and flinched when I touched the wound.

Slowly pealing my eyes open, I looked up at the celling of my cell and let out a soft sigh.

I was still laying on the cold floor.

"You're up?"

I heard Beatrice's voice near the door of the cell and I turned my head to the side to look at her. She stared at me from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet.

Her gaze was cold and indifferent but I could tell that she was checking my bandaged wounds.

Pushing myself up with my arms, I got in to a sitting position and looked down at my right leg.

There was a blood socked white bandage wrapped around my right feet up to my ankle. The bandage covered the scratch as well.

When the door of the cell creeked, I turned my head around and watched as Beatrice slowly opened the door and walked in.

Approaching me, she stopped a few feet away before she threw a pastic bad near my legs. I reached out for the black plastic bag and placed it on my lap before I untied the ears.

There, in the plastic bag, were a few slices of cuecumber, and apple, some strawberies and a bread.

"Eat." She ordered. "Tomorrow morning, you'll start your service."

With that, the woman walked out of the cell and made sure that she locked it before she left. I listened as her footstep disappeared from earshot before I spread the plastic bag well and reached for the apple.

I've never been big on eating fruit but I was starving. It's not really an all day diet for wolves.

I took a big bite from the apple and tears filled my eyes as I chewed. I hadn't realized just how hungry I've been.

I sniffled and blinked several times to shoo the tears away.

The apple is gone with in a few minutes. I even swallowed a few seeds by accidnet. I munched on the cucumber and avoided the strawberies as I had sever allergic reaction to them.

The bread was the last to go and when I was done, I was still hungry but not to the point of feeling my insides eating each other.

Returning the strawberies back in to the plastic bag, I placed in on the floor and leaned my back against the wall.

It's almost been three days now and so far, there hasn't been any sign  of me leaving here. Father should be here by now. If not him, then Mika or my brothers.

They'll try to save me, right?

Even if it's not for me then for the sack of the pack's image.

Father used to say that the pack comes first. An attack on the pack, especially during a mating ceremony is a huge hit. The pack would suffer in the eyes of others. It would considered to be weak for letting its guard down.

Father is not the kind of Alpha to just sit down and wait for things to be better.

The first eight years of my life, father had been pretty much absent. From what I've heard from Mika who heard it from his parents, My father wasn't even present when my mother gave birth to me.

He was busy going around neighboring packs, trying to concur them and take their lands for his own.

The Red Blood pack used to be small but after my father took over about fifty years ago, the land has been expanding a lot.

Even though father had made sure I was kept inside of the main pack house, it wasn't until after my eighth birthday that he really stared getting involved.

About ten years ago, he'd stopped leaving the pack for a long period of time unless it was absolutly necessary.

Maybe it was because he wanted to get more involved in his families lives, or maybe it was because he thought The Red Blood Pack has grown large enough.

Father will come for me...

My mind took me back to the night of my mating ceremony. It was only at this moment that I remembered that Havoc was attacked by those identical men and another one.

Is he okay?

Are any of my brother's okay?

And my mother, she was passed out when the Alpha had me thrown over his shoulder.

I shook my head to stop the bad thoughts.

My brother is okay and so is my mother. If something bad had happened to them, then I would have felt it.

Do they feel my pain?

Of course they do. No matter how much they pretend to find me annoying, they still have a family bond with me.

My brothers Atlas, Fang, Maximus, Blaze, Steel and Havoc, all six of them will come for me.

I comforted myself with the thought until I drifted in to an uncomfortable sleep.

***

I jereked away when I heard the door of the cell open.

"Get up." Beatice ordered as she held the door open.

Taking a deep breath, I slowly pushed myself to my feet.

There was a dull pain shooting up and down my leg, causing me to limp a bit. But it wasn't too much to prevent me from walking.

I walked past Beatrice and she told me to go forward. She, like she did two days ago, led me through the empty dungeon.

Unlike two days ago, I wasn't happy to see the outside.

If Beatrice is going to take me to the large pack house again, then it means the people might through rocks at me, again.

Beatrice told me to go forward and I took a deep breath before I limped forward.

I kept my head down as we walked through town.

Just like the other day, the air stilled and everyone stopped to stare at us, well, mostly me.

Unlike the other day though, I didn't look up once.

I walked as fast as I could.

My hands fisted the front of my dirty green dress as I limped through the town.

I could feel their eyes on me, glaring daggers. At least they didn't throw rocks this time.

I limped straight ahead and when we got to the pack house, I slowly climbed up the stairs and waited for Beatrice to open the door before I stepped in.

Sweat was pouring down the back of my neck as I waited for her to close the door.

When the door was closed, I didn't feel a drop of relief.

I held on to my dress like it was my life line, too scared to look up incase the Alpha was here.

The image of his half shifted feral wolf popped in my head and I had to stop myself from visibly shaking.

"Come." Beatrice said before she walked through the wide hall and turned left.

I followed after her as we walked through a large dining room with a long table right at the center. There might be about fifty seats around the long table.

We walked past the dining table and went through a door that led in to a large kitchen.

There were a few women running around in the kitchen, preparing what seems to be breakfast.

The smell of greasy meat and some fresh eggs assulted my nose, making my stomach twist with hunger.

The woman moved around the large kitchen without missing a beat. It was kind of refreshing to watch.

I followed Beatrice in to another door that led out of the kitchen and in to a narrow hall.

She led me through a few turns before we reached a small area with several doors.

The woman didn't speak a word as she walked to the very last door and opened it, revealing a bathroom with an attached shower.

"Get in and get cleaned. I'll return with a change of clothes." She ordered and waited for me to walk in to the bathroom before she slammed the door shut.

I stood in side of the bathroom and heard the lock of the door turned. I didn't have to try to open the door to know that Beatrice had locked me in.

I looked around the bathroom, wondering if I should really wash up or stay still and wait for her to come back.

I caught sight of the hanging mirror above a small sink and I stepped closer.

I took a sharp breath in when I looked at my reflection.

Green eyes that were swallowed with red veins branching in them, ruffled and tangled, curly red hair making a mess around my face, lips dry and cracked from the lack of hydration, soft dark circles under my eyes...

I couldn't recognize the girl who was staring back at me from within the mirror.

Reaching out, I touched the blood stained patch on my forehead and slowly pealed it off.

The wound that was covered by a patch was red and swollen. It seemed that it was closed with stitches.

The bruise was big amd angry, too sensitive to any touch.

I dropped hands and stared at my reflection for a few more minutes.

It's hard to believe that just three days ago, I was standing in front of a different mirror, getting ready for my mating ceremony.

I looked down at my green dress and realized how much the color had changed. The cell had not be kind to it, and neither had the blood that left large stains.

A frown settled on my face as I looked down on my feet. It all felt so strange.

This broken girl standing in front of the mirror is not me.

It felt like i was watching some one else, another girl looking down at herself, wondering how and why she got here.

The locks clicking in the door drew my attention and I snapped my head over to see Beatrice walking in.

The small woman was holding folded white dress in her arms.

"Didn't I tell you to wash up?" She scolded before she walked over to the shower and turned the water on.

"Get cleaned." She ordered again before she dropped the dress on a folded towel on the small counter by the sink atmd walked out of the bathroom.

She made sure to lock it as soon as she walked out.

I stared at the white dress she brought in and then looked down at my blood covered green dress.

I didn't need more convincing.

I limped over to the shower and slowly pealed the green dress.

Dropping my mating ceremony dress down on the floor, I slowly took the bandage off of my right foot.

I don't know what the healer did, but my wound had closed, just like the one on my forehead. Even though my right foot is swallowed with a dark bruise and has wounds that will definitely leave a scar, it was healing well.

I stepped under the slightly warm water and cleaned the last few horrible days off my skin.

I couldn't help but sigh as I ran my hands through my hair, combing the thick red strands with my fingers to untangle them.

I didn't want to take long. Beatrice didn't look like she wanted to wait too long.

So once I felt clean enough, I turned the water off and stepped out.

There was a towel left under the dress on the counter so I dried myself before I put the white dress on.

The thick fabric of the dress fell down to my ankles. The full sleeves are wide from the shoulder down to the forearm but it closes tight on the wrist.

It looks like it's the basic outfit the main pack house Omega's wear back at home.

The woman who were cooking breakfast earlier were also wearing the same dress.

I tried to dry the wild curls of my hair as fast as I possibly could before I walked over to the door and knocked on it.

I heard the locks turn before Beatrice pushed the door open and looked at me up and down.

She stared at my hair, looking a bit unpleased.

The curles are too wild and too long to braid or tame in a short time, so there was nothing I could do about it.

"Follow me." She ordered before she turned around.

I hesitated for a second and glanced back at my green dress that was still left on the floor. I wanted to reach for it and hug it tight so it would protect me.

But it's just a piece of clothes. I reminded myself that, before I turned around and followed after Beatrice.
