CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Hugh's POV

I don't know what I'm doing or what's wrong with me but I find myself unnecessarily caring for Hera at every little opportunity I get. A part that's bigger than the part of me that suspects her just wants her around me as I get to know her and I'm letting that part win.

I couldn't let the jealousy that stemmed in me when Felix was the one showing her care and making small talk with her. Then I saw her wince when she ate and how she took her hand to the cut on her lip and I couldn't turn a blind eye to that.

Instinctively, I found myself standing up and the next thing, I found myself in her front, pulling her up to stand and I was examining the cut on her lip.

Fast forward to now, I'm holding a cereal box and she's staring at me like I've grown two heads. She scoffs and palms her forehead before she looks back at me.

“When you said you had something better that was less spicy, I didn't have cereal in mind because it isn't obviously isn't better than a plate
