It was Jeremy. He narrowed his eyes at me, confusion displayed on his face. I quickly wiped my face with my back turned to him.

How would I explain my tears? I cleared my throat before turning to face him.

"What are you doing here?"

He straightened, still not wavering his gaze. "The meeting is over."

"Oh." That was all I could manage to say.

He was still standing there, looking at me. He looked worried.

"I wasn't crying, I was feeling the song." The song playing now was a melancholic one. "It's sad, isn't it?"

He shrugged. "I didn't take you for an emotional person, though."

He wasn't wrong to think that way. I was always cool-headed. I told myself I wouldn't be swayed regardless of whatever anybody did to me, because I had seen worse from my father. But the director's betrayal hit closer than anything.

"I know, right?" I agreed with him, nodding my head curtly. "I guess my hormones are still acting up."

He seemed unsure of what I meant, but he didn't press further.

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   Her Eyes

Jeremy once told me I’d be shocked to see Aubrey’s eyes. He didn’t tell them the details, and I never asked. He didn’t warn me that I could get hypnotized. I’d seen people with blue eyes, but Aubrey’s own were on another level. Her eyes were captivating and gorgeous, so I was too stunned to speak. “Why is everyone looking at me like I’m being weird?” Aubrey’s voice cut through the silence. “I only took out my wig, please.”I shook my head slightly. “Your eyes…”I failed to complete my statement because words failed me. Aubrey brought her hand to her face, slightly touching her eyes. “Oh,” she muttered. “I shouldn’t have taken my contacts off. It does send people off.”I could sense the nervousness in her voice. Did she misquote me?Nathan cleared his throat. “It’s fine. We were just a bit surprised, since we didn’t know you’ve been wearing contacts all along.”“Sorry,” she said, lowering her head as she tried to fix the contact lenses. “You can be yourself here,” Jeremy stated, hi

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   Aubrey

No one dared speak after his command. Not even I. I didn't have the gut to speak when Logan was angry."You can't leave, Aubrey," Logan said, his voice still filled with anger but a bit softer. It wasn't the time for that, but I still loved the way my name rolled off his lips.I folded my arms over my chest. "You can't tell me not to leave."The room went silent again."I don't know why you are being like this, but I promised to protect you," Logan's voice cut through the silence.I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. "Because I'm your mate?""Yes," he replied, drawing a sharp breath."Then reject me," I retorted. "That would make it easy for everyone."The words hung in the air like a sharp blade. Jeremy's eyes widened, and even Nathan looked uncomfortable.Logan's face went completely blank, which was somehow worse than his anger. "What did you just say?""You heard me," I said, forcing my voice to remain steady even though my heart was racing. "Reject me. That way, you can marry Jan

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   The Decision

Without knocking, I stepped into Logan’s office. The air felt tight, and the tension in it was thick enough to make my breath hitch. Logan wasn’t the only one present in his office. Nathan, Jeremy, and another person I wasn't pleased to see were present, too. And there was no doubt the tension got thicker as I locked eyes with the third person. Jane. Logan’s soon-to-be fiancée.She was there, sitting directly beside Logan with files spread between them. They were so close that I couldn’t help but scoff at the sight before me. “Did you just scoff?” Bridgette asked, narrowing her eyes at me. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at her. “No, I didn’t.”I didn’t understand why she didn’t like me from the get-go. I wondered how deep her hatred for me would run if she were to discover I was Logan’s mate and had been a female all along. Jane scoffed in return as I took a few steps forward. “You are thirty minutes late,” Logan said, his voice hard and cold. He didn’t even look up from th

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   The Ultimate Plan

I woke up to see rays of light seeping through the windows. Was I back to my room in town? I closed my eyes and opened them again. No, I wasn’t. But I knew my dorm had only a window, covered with a thick black curtain by my roommates. I pull the duvet away from my body, stretching as I stare at the wall clock hung on the wall directly facing me. 8:30 a.m. Shit! I woke up late. That meant I was late for work already. I hurried to the corner of my bed to get my phone from the lampstand, but the moment my feet touched the cold tiles, the event of the previous night hit me like a rushing wind. I confessed everything.Logan happened to be my mate, but I wasn’t certain if he had feelings for me outside the mate bond. My roommates helped me move my stuff back to the pack. And Matthew’s eyes that wouldn’t let me. I let out a low groan as I rubbed my face with my palms in frustration. Things went totally the way I hadn’t planned. Even though I hoped that Logan wouldn’t punish me after

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   Friend In Chaos

AubreyJeremy didn’t say anything as we walked side by side, the moment I stepped out of the pack house. I could tell he had been waiting for me to come down from Logan’s office. The silence between us wasn’t awkward; it was full of understanding. Like he knew I had my reasons for lying to him.As we approached my dormitory, I couldn’t help but feel a bit sad about leaving. Lucas, Steve, and Matthew were good people. Even though Matthew had always looked at me like he had something bad on me, he never spoke out of turn or in a condescending way to me. Everything was about to change, and I couldn’t help but think about how fast things were changing.Jeremy stopped abruptly just as we were about to reach the step to my dorm, bringing me out of my thoughts.“Aubrey,” he said quietly.I turned to face him, observing the serene look on his face.I used to wonder what Jeremy looked like when he was with his people as the beta warrior, because I was used to him being soft, jovial, and always

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   Between A Mate and the Pack

Aubrey was my mate. I had been waiting for the moment I’d meet my mate. I had waited until I was at the point of giving up. I questioned the moon goddess several times about why she’d bestowed others with their bonds so easily, but wouldn’t let me find mine. I knew I was strong without it, but I still wanted it. And the moment Aubrey stepped into my office as Aub, I smelled my mate on her—making the whole world come to a halt in that moment. Even after realizing the depth of her presence in my pack, knowing there was a chance it would destroy everything I had spent half of my life building, I still wanted to protect her and half of her near me. The rational me would have grabbed her by the neck and dragged her ass down to the NIS to demand an explanation. I wouldn’t care if she was used or not. I’ll tear the whole place apart until I get my answers. But, seeing her standing before me, with fear of what might happen to her visible in her eyes, I only wanted to hold her close. It s
