JESSICA'S POV/~

After our long, sensual night, I felt really relaxed and happy when Keagan came inside me. My sadness and problems seemed to go away and I slept very well, better than I had in two years.

Morning quickly approached and I wished I could stop it from approaching too fast. I woke up and yawned, turning to the other side of the bed to find Keagan. But the bed was empty and cold, which told me that Keagan had left a long time ago.

My heart dipped into my stomach, making the sleep in my eyes disappear instantly. My face fell, and I could feel my eyes lose their shine. I pressed my lips together and closed my eyes, trying to keep the painful feelings in my heart under control.

What was I thinking?

Was I expecting Keagan to be the caring husband he had been two years ago when I clearly knew what I had done to make him love me?

I quickly opened my eyes again and let out a sigh. Climbing out of bed, I slipped on my flip-flops just as the bedroom door opened once more, revealing Keagan, who was already dressed and prepared to leave for his office.

Shock filled me, and my eyes scanned his outfit quickly. I swallowed hard.

"Hey," he said to me, causing me to blink in surprise. I couldn't believe he was talking to me.

My soul almost left my body when I saw him walk toward me and then kiss me. Not on the forehead, not on the cheek, not on the corner of my lips. He kissed me right on the mouth!

My heart jumped funny, and I didn't know how to react. Was this the real Keagan or some kind of fake person pretending to be him?

"I'm leaving for work. I'll try to come back earlier. Make sure you eat something by then," he said in a strangely calm voice, making my heart beat even faster. I couldn't tell if my heart was racing because I was excited or scared that this nice mood would end or he was tricking me with his sweet actions.

The smile that had started to form on my face fell as that idea settled deep into my mind.

"Are you okay?" he asked, looking concerned.

I nodded like I had lost my ability to speak.

"I'm leaving," he said. "Take care of yourself."

Just before he could go, I jumped up. "Wait!" I moved closer to him and shyly bit my lip, trying to look cute. "Have you had breakfast yet? Can you wait for me to make you something quick, or what would you like?"

He shook his head. "I already ate. I'll see you later."

Like a dream come true, I watched him leave the room in wonder. I listened for his footsteps to fade away in the hall before letting out a squeal, jumping on the bed, and dancing happily.

"Oh, thank heavens," I put my hands on my chest and looked up at the ceiling. I didn't know what else I could have done.

Finally! All my hard work and sleepless nights had been worth it.

The sound of his car engine starting up and leaving the mansion made my ears tingle. I sighed and slumped back onto the bed.

"Jessica?!" I heard footsteps coming closer to our bedroom, and the annoying sound of my mother-in-law's voice got louder as she came near my door.

Here the devil comes!

Without waiting for me to answer, she started banging on the door, almost breaking it.

"You better get your lazy butt downstairs right now and make sure you finish the chores with the rest of the maids, or you won't like what I'm going to do next. Get down here. Now!" she shouted, and I covered my ears.

Her voice was rough and scratchy, and it always made my skin crawl with irritation. I would gladly pay a huge amount of money just to avoid hearing her voice, even if it was only for a day, or better yet, forever.

Rolling my eyes, I grabbed a pillow and pressed my face into it.

Beginning my daily house chores, I made sure to greet my mean mother-in-law first before heading downstairs to gather the cleaning supplies to tidy up our master bedroom.

It took about an hour and a few minutes to clean the entire large room. Wiping the sweat from my brow, my eyes landed on some documents beside the small stool where Keagan usually placed his laptop.

I walked closer and flipped it open, only to see that it was related to Keagan's office work. What if he needed it urgently and hadn't realized it was missing from his briefcase?

Sighing, I decided to change out of my dress. I wanted to return the documents to him; maybe he would see from this small gesture that I loved him and I wanted our marriage to work.

After changing, I took the file and headed down the stairs, only to stop abruptly when I bumped into Emma, who had earphones in her ears.

"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry," she gasped, noticing that the file in my hand had been knocked out of my grasp when she bumped into me.

She bent down to pick it up, her eyes skimming through it. I frowned—wasn't that being nosy? She was trying to read the contents before I snatched it back from her hands.

I forced a smile, and she returned it with an embarrassed smile.

"Are you going somewhere?" she questioned, and I gave a nod.

"Where to?"

My eyebrows rose, but I answered her anyway. "Keagan seemed to have misplaced a file, so I'm going to give it to him."

"Oh, I see..." Emma drawled, glancing at her wristwatch. "I'm actually going out as well. Maybe you can give it to me, and I'll drop it off on my way. That's if you want to, Jess." Emma said with a small smile.

I looked at her for a brief moment before nodding. "Of course, thank you so much." Not suspecting anything, I handed the documents to Emma, who beamed with delight.

I watched her leave with the documents before heading back up the stairs to finish my cleaning.

Once done with the cleaning, I checked the time and made my way to the kitchen to prepare a meal. The idea of making Keagan's favorite dish and then sending it to his office struck me again. I wanted to surprise him.

A wide smile spread across my lips as I imagined his handsome smile, making me shake my head.

"What are you smiling about, you wench? That you're barren or that you've trapped my son, who hasn't brought home another woman to continue our lineage?!"

For a moment, I froze at my mother-in-law's harsh words. They stung like crazy, but I gritted my teeth, preventing myself from talking back. If I had the chance, I would definitely give this woman a piece of my mind, but I couldn't. The main reason being that she was Keagan's mother!

And I was trying to secure a string spot in Keagan's heart.

Paying no attention to her, I entered the kitchen and started preparing the meal as quickly as I could. Keagan's mother continued yelling just outside the kitchen, clearly wanting to humiliate me despite knowing that the maids and guards were already there.

I kept cooking, immersing myself in the task at hand and still ignoring her. I had no idea why she hadn't stepped into the kitchen—perhaps she was afraid I would burn her with something hot. I giggled to myself before adding more ingredients and stirring the pot.

A few moments later, the meal was ready, and I began to package it while keeping an eye on the time. I hummed a tune under my breath and carried the food with me as I left the kitchen.

Thankfully, Keagan's mother was nowhere to be seen, so I rushed to my room to change once again.

Instead of asking Keagan's men to drive me, as I knew they would probably seek permission from my mother-in-law, I decided to hail a taxi instead.

Feeling anxious, I checked my appearance in the mirror every few seconds. When the taxi stopped in front of the large skyscraper, my anxiety skyrocketed. I couldn't understand why—was it because I wanted him to compliment me so badly, or was there something else I couldn't quite identify?

The anxiety made me feel slightly sick, but I kept pushing myself until I reached his office. The hall was empty, with not even the secretary present. That was great, since I desperately wanted to surprise him.

Just as I approached his door, the sound of a man and a woman's voices reached my ears, turning my legs to stone, and I halted in my tracks.

“Yes… Keagan harder…” my heart seemed to squeeze.

" You're my cum slut, aren't you? Say it!”

" Yes… yes please. I'm… your cum slut. Please harder."

Was I starting to lose my mind, Jessica?

For a moment, my heartbeat slowed, almost coming to a stop. I kept walking closer, stopping at the door, and placed my ear against it to ensure that my ears weren't playing tricks on me.

The sounds of flesh meeting flesh became clearer, accompanied by the woman's moans and the man's groans. My heart sank into the deepest part of my stomach, and nausea hit me hard. The food bag in my hand dropped to the ground, and with all my strength, I pushed open the door. To my horror, my eyes widened as I took in the scene before me.

There stood my husband, Keagan, the only man I've come to love, plunging in and out like a dog inside of Emma, who kept screaming like a Banshee, on his table. His shirt was on but his pants were pooled around his ankle. He would have looked comical if not for how Emma was entirely naked, spread eagle before him.

My eyes struggled to process the heartbreaking scene in front of me. Time seemed to slow down as my gaze darted between them, their naked bodies pressed against each other. My heart felt like it shattered into a million pieces. A sharp, stabbing pain shot through my chest, and an overwhelming sense of betrayal washed over me. My eyes filled with tears, blurring my vision, as I stumbled back, clutching my chest.

I couldn't help but notice how his hands gripped her hips, his fingers digging into her flesh, and how she clung to him, her nails raking down his back. Each detail felt like a dagger, twisting cruelly in my heart.

“Oh…” slipped through my lips as the crack in my chest deepened.

The shock and horror on their faces upon seeing me only added to the unbearable agony. Keagan's eyes widened, his face turning pale, while Emma let out a gasp, desperately trying to cover herself.

As I stood there, trembling and speechless, a mix of emotions threatened to consume me. Hurt, anger, and disbelief swirled together making it difficult to breathe. I could feel my world crumbling around me, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

My heart continued to race as my mind struggled to accept what was happening.

I felt weak, my knees threatening to give out at any moment. Tears spilled from my eyes, hot and unrelenting, as I choked back a sob. In that instant, I knew I would never recover from this gut-wrenching scene ever.

Authors POVEmma sat across from Keagan, the live camera blinking red on the console behind him. Her mouth twisted into a smile, still wearing her perfectly contoured face like it could save her now. But the room was quiet—the kids were at Jessica's mother's house. Keagan had made sure of it."You can end this right now," Keagan said, his voice flat. "Or I can let her press charges for attempted murder, kidnapping, identity theft, child fraud—""Stop!"
