LOGINCassandra’s POV
The man from yesterday who I figured was Kael had a slight smirk on his face, watching me. So did the woman I heard was Claire and him… Sebastian. There were others seated on the chairs in the room but they didn't seem as bothered by my presence as those three. Claire's face was scrunched up in a frown as she stared at me before turning sharply to Sebastian with anger evident in her voice. “What was she doing here?” she sat as though I wasn't in the room. Sebastian chose to ignore her, clapping his hands as the maids strolled in from behind me, serving the dishes of everyone. That was my cue to take my seat so I walked awkwardly around, looking for an empty seat and the only two were beside Sebastian and another man, who seemed sleazy with how his eyes were raking over my body. So I chose Sebastian. It seemed like my best bet. I walked over, noting how their eyes followed me but as I took a seat, the hall erupted into chaos. Some gasped and someone got up roughly from her seat, scraping the chair on the ground, cutleries cluttering everywhere. “Silence!” Sebastian yelled and the hall fell quiet. He then went back to eating as if I hadn't committed some big crime in the eyes of the others. Kael was the only one who didn't seem shocked and was more amused by what I had done. He chuckled slightly and went back to his meal and so did everyone else except Claire. “This is ridiculous. She might be a guest or your guest Sebastian, but she has no right, absolutely no right to take a seat in the Luna’s chair. That's— that's abominable!” she screeched, her face red from all the yelling. Sebastian didn't say anything, instead he went in eating his meal. If her face could get worse, it did. She grabbed her clutch purse and walked out of the dining hall, the guards opening the doors for her as she walked out. I sat frozen, finally registering the words that she had said. Had I committed some sort of crime now? And since she was his Luna, why wasn't she allowed to sit here? I thought but all my thoughts flew out of my head when a hot plate of sausages and pancakes with syrup dripping from it and a slice of butter was placed in front of me. I ignored the eyes watching my every move and dug in. I looked up mid chew to see Sebastian looking at me with a confused look and with my mouth full, I muttered. “What?” A smile cracked at his lips but it disappeared in a second. — After breakfast, Cynthia came into my room with a package that she said Sebastian had sent. I gently took it from her, weary about what was in it. I finally took in a deep breath and pulled it open. Inside was a phone? I looked at her for some sort of explanation, but her eyes were scanning the room, scrutinizing how I had it all arranged. I looked back at the phone and turned it on, seeing that some contacts were already saved in. I scrolled through but he wasn't there… He must really not care about me other than some sort of emotional support for his wolf. I didn't seem to mind but there was no way he was going to be this controlling of me. I turned the phone back off, placed it in the pack and handed it back to her. She looked shocked, her eyes almost bulging from her head. “Take it back to him.” I said and her mouth fell open. “You ungrateful-” “I'd like to know if this is how you speak to your guests in this pack?” I said, cutting her off before she could continue to speak. She paused, closed her mouth and bowed slightly before taking the package from my hand and walking out. Seconds later, my door burst open as Sebastian stroked in, looking furious. “I heard you threw my gift in the head maid’s face.” He said accusatorily and I just stared at him, my brows raised in shock. “Is that what she told you? Manipulation must be some sort of taught skill in your pack I must say.” He scoffed and dragged me up from my sitting position, intensely staring at me. “Don't cross the line.” “I never knew there was a line to begin wth. You can't control me.” I poked at his chest and he grabbed my hand tightly, making me wince. “I can and I will. You will do as I say.” I gave him a look, unmoved by his brash actions. “And if I don't?” I questioned. “I will make you, no matter what.” There was a heated silence afterwards. No words were spoken but a lot was said and I knew that he wasn't to budge. He should know I wouldn't either. “Let. Go.” I said through gritted teeth and he did immediately as if he got burnt. He stepped back, cleared his throat and walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him. “He's nothing more than an angry child.” I muttered under my breath and the door swung open again, startling me and I thought it was him but an angry woman stood at the entrance, her hands folded as she looked at me. Her eyes were narrowed and her mouth was titled into a frown. I stood, blinking at her when she stretched out her hand and pointed at me. “You!” “Me?” I pointed at myself and she walked over to me and raised her hand about to slap me across the face but before she could, I rose mine and held hers in the air. “Now, let's not do that.” I commented and she seemed more furious than when she had walked in. She forcefully pulled her hand away from mine and stood her ground. “What are you doing here?” “Why don't you ask Seb?” I commented. “You have no right to call him that.” “Well, how sure are you that I don't?” I leaned in, smirking at her discomfort. “Just who are you to him?” she whispered and then her eyes slowly opened as they widened. “Oh.” she said in a small voice and my brows furrowed. “Oh?” I repeated but she seemed lost, looking at my face as if she was seeing me for the first time.Cassandra’s POVThe man from yesterday who I figured was Kael had a slight smirk on his face, watching me. Cassandra’s POVI shifted on the bed as the rays of the sunlight filtered into the room. I groaned, rubbing my eyelids as I slowly got up from the bed. My throat was dry, so I reached out to the bedside table for a glass of water, but there wasn't anything there. Groggily, I got up, trudging to the door and trying to pull it open but I didn't budge.Huh?I tried again, pulling harder this time as I attempted to open it, but it yielded the same result. Why was my door stuck?“Dad?” I yelled out, trying to get him to come up the stairs and get the door opened for me, but there was no reply. “Dad!” I yelled louder, pulling at the knob and then pounding steps coming up the stairs from outside the door sent relief through me but as the door pulled open and I came face to face with a guard, I froze.“Who are you?” I asked and he looked at me, frowning, equally confused.“I'm a guard here,” he replied, and I tilted my head in confusion. What the hell was–That was when it all came rushin
Cassandra's povI stared at the domineering sky scraper in front of me. Who the hell had a skyscraper as a pack house? Everything about the Lycans screamed money and they never wasted an opportunity to flaunt it."Welcome to your new home." The Lycan announced as he stood beside me. When it was glaringly obvious I had no where to run to, I had conceded but I knew it wasn't over and I would find my way out of the pack house no matter what.I quietly followed behind the Lycan, ignoring the stares I was receiving as we walked. They stared at me as though I was an anomaly and in their world I guess I was. They were bo doubt wondering what a filthy little human was doing with one of their own."Alpha." A man whose face was pinched into a frown bowed as he addressed the Lycan.Alpha? My heart dropped as I recognized the title. It explained why this man's aura was so commanding and oozed of power. Was this a sick Joke? How would the alpha of the Lycans think I was his mate? Me, a human!"Kae
Cassandra's pov"What do you mean we are in debt?" I stared at my father in confusion. He looked anywhere but at me and it irritated me to no end."You already know I have an addiction to gambling-" my father began and I groaned."I thought you had sorted that out and we had moved on from that?" I asked."I'm sorry but I couldn't stop Cassandra, no matter how hard I tried." He confessed and a slow sense of dread washed over me.I was beyond disappointed in my dad."How much do you owe?" I asked softly, trying to control the rage within me."We owe nothing. All our- my debts have been paid off." He informed me and I scrunched my brows in confusion."What do you mean?" I asked. My father looked at me with such pain and guilt in his grey orbs and the anticipation of what he would say nearly killed me."A man visited me a while back and offered to pay all my debts." He said casually as if it were no big deal."What did he want in return?" I probbed and my father looked away."Did you sell
Sebastian's pov"And you said she is a human?" Kael, my beta, looked at me perplexed and I merely hummed in agreement.I clenched my fists and went back to attacking the punching bag in front of me."Battering the punching bag won't offer you a solution." Kael pointed out and as much as I didn't want to agree with him, I knew he was right."It would, however, reduce the urge I have to strangle something or someone." I looked at him pointedly but he merely chuckled.I flexed my fingers as I paused my assault on the punching bag and tried to calm my raging emotions and ragged breath."Why would the moon goddess give me a human as a mate?" I frowned."Are you sure you weren't merely attracted to this human?" Kael asked and my wolf growled within me."I think I would know what attraction feels like Kael. My wolf yearned to mark this human right on the spot. I have never felt so aware of another person neither had my wolf ever lost control like I almost had when she stood mere inches away
Cassandra's povDifferent emotions surged through me, ranging from anger, sorrow, despair and finally numbness. As my feet sunk into the muddy ground as I walked I couldn't feel anything. It was as though I was merely a ghost observing life pass by me.Why had I ignored things that were glaring obviously in front of me.I pushed my wet, sticky hair out of my face and as I looked around I realized I was lost.I looked back but all I saw was forestry and I wondered how I had possibly come out this far without noticing. My feet hurt and my back ached and I instantly knew I had been walking for hours. As I stared down at my sodden clothes I couldn't help but wonder how what started out as a beautiful night had gone horribly wrong. With a sad smile I leaned against a tree which provided me with minimal shelter and let the rain wash over me, ignoring the shivers that ran through my body.A snap broke the serenity which surrounded me and my eyes popped open.A low growl filled the silence as
