I've been crying all day, and I'm so damn tired of it. It is exhausting and has taken a toll on my physical strength. I've been crying while I do chores, while I cook. On top of it, in the early afternoon, I felt excruciating pain in my chest, as if someone was stabbing me. My wolf told me we felt it because Kian was making out with another woman. I finish serving dinner, avoiding looking in the direction of where Kian is. Trisha is sitting on his lap, smiling like a Cheshire cat. I'm about to slip out of the room when Doty, one of Kian's closest friends and a top warrior, calls my name. I freeze in my tracks. "Nara, have you eaten?" she asks. Doty is tall, lean, with short raven hair and cat-like, stormy, sexy eyes. She is truly the epitome of a hot girl. Every male wants her, but she only has eyes for Davon, the gamma of the pack. Doty is often nice to me and waves when we cross paths. "Want to join us for dinner?" she asks when I don't answer her. I dare to glance back at their table, high-ranking members of the pack, newly sworn in, including the Alpha, beta, gamma, and top warriors, and Lang and Trisha, who are rankless but are there. "No," I say and turn to leave. I can feel Kian's gaze boring through my back. All I can think of is, who was he making out with earlier today? Trisha? I didn't sleep through the night because my chest was in constant pain. The next morning was the same as other mornings. I helped the two cooks make breakfast, but I had to wake up an hour earlier than usual since it was Monday, and I had school. I take a shower, put on one of the three pairs of pants I own and a tank top, then throw a hoodie over it and pull it up over my head. Grabbing my bag, I walk to school. My school was in the human town, twenty minutes from the pack, even though it was part of the Lake Moon territory. I chose to go there because most of the students are human and are not mean to me. I'm almost making it to the gate when coffee was spilled on my clothes from a car window. The car speeds up, leaving behind the echoes of their laughter. Trisha. It is too late to go back, so I proceed and go straight to the bathroom. I try to dry myself, but it doesn't dry fast enough. I'm frustrated and punch the dryer. I keep doing it over and over again. I hate this damn pack, and I hate all these people. Why do they keep me here if they hate me so much?! " Are you okay?" a voice asks from the toilet. The door opens, and a girl with curly hair and honey eyes appears. She's very gorgeous, like a doll with her makeup, nose piercing, and hoop earrings. Her gaze falls on my hands, and she gasps, coming to me. "You're bleeding. You need to go to the nurse's office," she's panicking. I sniff her scent and realize she is human and doesn't know how werewolf healing works. We heal faster than humans. Does she even know about us? Some humans don't and think werewolves are myths. "I'll go," I tell her to soothe her panic. She eyes me skeptically, and then something crosses her face, something like pity. "I'll take you," she murmurs, and I don't protest. The school nurse cleans and bandages my wound. She's a wolf, so I caught her rolling her eyes, thinking it would heal in an hour or so. She only paid attention because the girl was watching attentively, worried. When we left the nurses' office, she extended her hand to me. "Hi, I'm Mya, twelfth grade and new to the school," she said, smiling, her face bright. "Hi, Mya, I'm Nara, twelfth grade too." We shake hands, our gazes lock, and we smile and nod. I can't remember the last time I smiled from the heart. Mya is cool and surprisingly popular, and everyone keeps complimenting her and her outfit. She's wearing a black flared mini skirt, knee-length boots, and a white tube top. We walk to class together, and we sit next to each other. " How come I've never seen you in class before?" I ask. "I was homeschooled until last week," she answers, and I squint my eyes when the school cheer captain beams and waves at her. "I kinda have a huge presence online. I have a somewhat popular fashion blog," she murmurs, looking a little embarrassed. The quarterback winks at her as he goes to his seat at the back, "And I play online games," she adds, and I nod. I wouldn't know about her since I don't have a phone or computer. Our young math teacher, Mr. Cain, enters, and everyone quietens. His eyes widen when he sees Mya, but she smirks and waves, prompting the other students to murmur and oo. Mr. Cain clears his throat and gives her a stern look before proceeding to teach. Mya throws a note on my desk, and I open it discreetly. <Hey, wanna be friends? Tick yes or no> I'd never had a friend besides Kian, and he broke my heart, but there is something about Mya that makes me not scared about friendship. I tick yes and throw it back to her. "Best friends forever!" she whispers. "You said friends, not best friends," I remind her. She smirks, "Soon you'll beg me to be your best friend, trust me, I'm irresistible," she winks and starts drawing in her notebook, ignoring the teacher. For the first time in forty-eight hours, I don't think about Kian and what happened. Mya is just a source of sunshine. She has so much energy and doesn't get tired of talking. However, when I reach the packhouse after school, I wish I hadn't. Standing in the driveway is Kian, and a woman holds onto his arm, smiling up at him, while the former Alpha and Luna watch with expressions of love and happiness on their faces. Another couple is standing next to them, and I recognize the man. He is the Alpha of the Sea Moon pack, Felix Choi. There was talk circulating in the kitchen earlier this morning that his daughter might be the next Luna of this pack, Kian's betrothed.KianFive days had passed since I discovered Nara was pregnant. My mind is unfocused, consumed by thoughts of her and our pup. I catch glimpses of her around the packhouse, but she is avoiding me like I carry the plague.I stare out the window, thoughts of my unborn child flooding my mind once again. Will I be a good father? What will it be like?My gaze shifts to a father and son playing in the garden. I can’t help but wonder, 'Will I have that with my child?' Will my butterfly ever let me? Right now, she hates me, and she has every right. She thinks I'm considering letting Stella raise our child, but that is not the case. I would never do that to her or our child.I'm in a conference room, holding a meeting with high-ranking members of the pack to discuss the recent attacks we have been facing.“Davon, what’s your report on the rogues attacking us?” I ask, finally looking back at the group. Davon straightens.“We captured a few after the recent attack, but they all killed themselves
NaraI turn to the voice. Stella is glaring at us, but her eyes are filled with tears. Kebby and Tina look confused about why we are in the garden, and the former gamma glares at me as though I'm causing trouble."Amelia, Kian, what is happening here?" Tina asks, sending a glare at Amelia, who snarls and crosses her arms, staring at Kian."She's pregnant... with my child," Kian says, his voice detached. I don't know whether to feel dread or happiness; if he doesn't care, maybe he'll let me leave the pack without any hassle. "What? Are you crazy?!" Stella shouts. She is enraged, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she tugs at her hair."No, she has to be lying, son," Kebby shakes his head. "She must leave this pack. Such false accusations won't be tolerated. Your association with her could ruin your chances of becoming the Alpha Supreme." I can't help but smile slightly at that. Yes, please kick me out of this pack.I glance at Kian; his body trembles with pent-up rage. I will mis
Nara"I wanted to be with you and make you happy forever." I turn to look at him, and he looks like a mess, just like I feel, with tears streaming down my cheeks."I swear we tried, my wolf and me," he says, his tone desperate."I will never leave you, ever!" Kian declared, placing his hand on his chest. "Why does everyone hate me? It's not my fault that my father did bad things," I said as I sniffled. Kian wiped away my tears."Butterfly, I'll marry you, and you'll be the mother of my son. No one will hate you because you'll be Luna," he said confidently. He was always so assured."Ew, we are best friends! I can't imagine us getting married!" I exclaimed, but deep inside, I loved the idea of marrying him. "You like the idea of marrying me. That's why you're blushing. You're so cute, little butterfly," he said, ruffling my hair. He then gripped my chin, and as he leaned in, he gave me a chaste kiss. I gasped, frozen in place. For a moment, he slipped his tongue into my mouth before
Amelia pov.I breathe in the fresh air of my pack as I step out of the car, a smile growing on my lips. "So good to be home," I sigh. Nothing much has changed. The packhouse was more of a manor than a mansion, and a few meters away were the houses of some pack members.I smile at my older sister, Tina. She was the Luna of the pack before her son took over."Hello, sis," I say, kissing her cheek. She pats my shoulder and takes a step back. I love my sister, but she can be difficult at times, and we often see things differently. However, her husband and I get along really well."Brother-in-law!" I exclaim as I wrap my arms around Kebby. He kisses the top of my head, and we exchange pleasantries."Where is my nephew?" I ask, looking around for Kian."He's getting ready for the party. Go to his room," Kebby says. I only came to this party to see Kian. I missed him, and the last time we spoke, he wasn't doing well. He felt lost and desperately wanted to be with his childhood love, yet here
Flashback I'm lying in Kian's bed again, exhausted after cleaning the second floor. Kian, too, is exhausted. His training has become intensive since he just turned 16. "Why are you so tired?" he asked. "I had to clean the second floor twice because Trisha and Lang kept spilling muddy water on the floor, and teasing me," I said, snuggling into him. He smelled so good. 'I'll deal with them," he yawned. "No, it will make it worse. Don't get involved, plus, I already put them in their place," I give him a devilish smile. He is impressed with him. "That's my girl," he praised, and I beamed. "Should I leave you to rest? You look beat, Kian," I feel bad for him."No, stay. Sleep with me," Kian groans, his eyes still closed. I feel myself blush. Kian had changed since I met him. He looked like a sixteen-year-old; he was taller with broad shoulders and had muscle, a real young man. Was it right to sleep in the same bed as him? While I contemplated, he wrapped an arm around me. "I can h
Nara"Where are you coming from, and dressed like a hooker?" I clutch my chest, startled, and turn my head as Kian approaches me, his steps graceful like a panther stalking its prey. He is looking at me with disapproval. My eyes travel over him. He is wearing grey sweatpants that sit low on his hips, revealing an enticing V-cut. His bare chest and broad shoulders are made of pure, perfect muscle. For a fleeting moment, I'm lost in the pure allure of his beauty, the kind that takes your breath away."Enjoying the view, butterfly?" he smirks, and I grimace, looking away."Nara! You're back, hi!" Max comes from the direction Kian came from. It seems they had gone running."Where's Echo?""My room. He’s a vicious little thing," he answers, pointing to a few scratches on his arms. I scowl, apolozing, "And how's my mate? Did you put in a good word for me?" he looks eager, like a child."She thinks you're an odd fellow," I quote Mya. Max frowns, but nods."At least she thinks of me, right?"
