JULIAN'S POV,

I didn’t remember the drive back home.

The most I could remember was leaving the doctor behind and running away from the hospital, thinking I could run away from the truth too. However, that was not the case because just as I got in the car, his voice echoed inside my head.

I slammed the car door so hard it rattled the frame, vibrating my whole body, but my heart trembled the most. I started the engine and held the steering wheel so tight my knuckles turned white. Even as I pulled away from the hospital, its empty walls seemed to chase me. I could still hear the doctor’s voice in my head, over and over again.

‘Molly is... she's gone.’

The words stuck to me like hot wax—thick and suffocating. It wasn't me who left the hospital that day, it was someone else. A ghost. Because I died the moment I heard about Molly's death, and what caused it. I couldn't believe she was gone, but at the back of my head, I guess I'd known it for a very long time

  • The Alpha's Unworthy Luna    CHAPTER 15: HOSPITAL

JULIAN'S POV,I couldn't get through to Elena. Ever since the night she abruptly cut my call, I couldn't get hold of her. It had been almost a week since I last talked to her and I was getting frustrated. I knew she was getting back at me for the times I ignored her calls, but back then I was busy taking care of the pack. Unlike her, I knew my role as the Alpha and tried to fulfill the role to my best capabilities. Whereas, she didn't even care about being the Luna. She left and was probably crashing at someone else's house. And she dared to send me the divorce papers. Being a Luna isn't a play, she couldn't leave everything behind because she felt like it. “The person you're trying to reach is currently out of service. Please wait for...” I ended the call, frustrated with hearing the same automated voice repeatedly. “Why aren't you picking up the fucking phone, Elena?” I screamed, pulling the side of my hair in rage. “What game are you playing with me this time?”I stared at the

  • The Alpha's Unworthy Luna    CHAPTER 14: BLACKLIST

ELENA'S POV,It had been more than a month since I left the Pack, and things did start to make sense with a little passing of time. There was a lot I had to get used to, being independent now, but thanks to my new job at a restaurant in the city center, I was able to pay my bills, and the work kept me busy enough to stop thinking about Julian.Molly, however, was very much a part of my thoughts every day. My little baby was my world, I couldn't forget her even when she's gone far away from me. Can a mother ever forget her child? My days used to start with saying ‘good morning’ to her with a smile on my face and end after hours of talking before bed. I was living my life for her, so it was only fair that I told her the things I was doing outside the four walls of our—somewhat warm—apartment.I told her all about the famous landmarks around the city. We spent hours talking about the cafe I was regular to, the small bakery that baked the best pies I had in my life, and the new people I m

  • The Alpha's Unworthy Luna    CHAPTER 13: NANNIES

RYAN'S POV,I couldn’t stop thinking about Elena's words, even though it had been more than half an hour, and I was driving back home.Ollie finally fell asleep in the back seat, and while I was feeling a lot better knowing that she was safe, I heard Elena's voice echoing in my head. They reminded me what a terrible father I was, not just for leaving her alone with Mia, but for hiring Mia to be her nanny in the first place. It could have been worse, and there was no one else to blame but me.I should have known better. When Mia mentioned that Ollie wanted to go out, I should have sensed that something was off. I should have canceled the meeting, followed my instincts, and not relied on someone else to protect my baby. And if Elena thought I was a careless, irresponsible father… she wasn’t wrong.“Children like her… they can’t just be left on their own. You can’t afford mistakes like that. Ever.” The way she said that made me wonder what she had gone through in the past. She didn’t rai

  • The Alpha's Unworthy Luna    CHAPTER 12: LITTLE GIRL

ELENA'S POV, Even after the man said he was her father, I didn’t hand her over right away. The little girl—Ollie, as the stranger called her—was still pressed against my chest and her small arms were looped tightly around my neck. She started smiling as soon as she saw him, yet I knew I couldn't just give him the kid, even if he was the Alpha President. I was a little afraid of being in his presence. Who wouldn't be? He was the alpha president, the most influential and powerful man around us, and I was just a wolf without a pack or mate. Behind him I saw his security team in black, with weapons, waiting for his signal. However, he didn't force Ollie out of my arms, instead he looked at me with surprise. I held Ollie tighter when I noticed her looking at the men in black uniform. However, she didn’t flinch like me when she saw them. She didn't try to pull away when they got near, and that said something too, but I wasn’t about to take chances. The guilt of not doing enough for Mo

  • The Alpha's Unworthy Luna    CHAPTER 11: DAD

RYAN'S POV,I slammed the car door before it had even fully stopped. My boots hit the pavement hard as I ran, heart hammering, eyes locked on the small figure ahead. At first, I wasn't sure. I thought it was my brain playing tricks, but then I saw her favourite pink shoes and immediately knew she was my Ollie. She was alive, and standing on the side of the road... in the arms of a woman. A stranger. My heart stopped as fear rose, and the relief that had hit me like a crashing wave just a few seconds ago was once again chased away when I sensed trouble. I panicked and looked at the guards behind me, and they knew what was going through my head, and we're ready for combat if required. However, it was just one woman, so I was confident I could take her down, but I was afraid of it being a trap set up for me. Though it didn't stop me from running after Ollie. ‘Who the hell is that woman?’ I thought to myself when I saw her eyes widen, seeing me. Ollie clung to her, arms wrapped around
