JULIAN'S POV,

“It could have been an email, but I wanted to bring it in front of the committee myself,” I said, and just like I hoped, I finally had their attention.

“And why's that?” Jasper asked, despite already knowing the entire thing.

He was playing into it a little too much, and the others had already started to see through his act. One of them, a young man to the right with copper hair, scoffed, seeing the fake curiosity in Jasper's words. His eyes were telling me that he wasn't interested in hearing anything more.

“I needed to be heard properly.” I further added, as practiced yesterday. “The emotions... my emotions, they couldn't be translated properly via an email. And today I don't just want you to hear me, but also to understand the gravity of my situation.”

“What urgent matter requires the full attention of the committee?” the man with the copper hair asked. He looked barely older than me, and I saw disdain in his eyes towards me. “We have other important matters to handle

RYAN'S POV,“You don't have the luxury of moral crusades.”The words settled heavily between us, and the look on Prince Andrew's face was everything I was hoping for. There was fear in his eyes, mixed with confusion and anger that he couldn't control. He was in complete shock, and for the first time since he entered my room, he didn't respond immediately. He was at a loss for words, trying to think of ways he could counter me, but he came up with nothing. His jaw tightened, but it wasn't out of anger. It was restraint, and that spoiled my mood. I glared at him as he calmed himself down, and pushed the emotions away from his face. He forced the same smile as before to decorate his lips and that calmness was worse than an outburst. People who lash out are predictable, less of a threat, but those who swallow their reactions are the ones who plan in the dark.“You've done your homework,” he said, with a hint of appreciation. But I figured it was fake, to boost my ego. Princess Georgina di

RYAN’S POV,I was waiting for Prince Andrew in my room, while sorting through my thoughts. I was trying to decide what I actually wanted to discuss with him.I didn't invite him to have a conversation about the future of our nations, as many of the elders from my pack suggested. They could sense the tension between us during the combined sessions and urged me to speak with him in private. To discuss the things that we couldn't agree upon. I was suspicious of Prince Andrew's intentions regarding Elena, which was getting in the way of the peace treaty.I knew I had to solve those issues first, before we could move on to discuss the final terms. The last treaty was a good stepping stone towards peace, but now we needed something more concrete. We weren't just discussing peace anymore, we were also discussing the rules of our partnership that was going to last for half a century. Many new things were involved this time: trade, tourism, security, and education.Last time, things weren't as

ANDREW’S POV,“Ryan is in a fragile state, yes, but his condition is way better than our family's.” Georgina took a deep breath and walked towards the window. “Andy, we need them more than they need us. Even if the peace treaty fails, we are in no position to wage a war against them. I saw their advanced missiles, drones, tanks and submarines. I met with their soldiers and talked with their generals. In the current time, our military is more than half a decade behind them.”She stopped near the glass window, arms crossed, and stared out at the distant lights of the palace grounds. It seemed like she was trying to find some answers, but they were hidden somewhere beyond the iron gates and she wasn't ready to leave me behind yet. The silence between us was thick and heavy with everything we weren't saying, because neither of us wanted to be the first one to break the promise.Certain things shouldn't be discussed, and we had a list of topics that we agreed upon.“Why are we thinking abo

ANDREW’S POV,Ever since I told Elena the truth about her past, the Presidential Palace had been too quiet for my liking.Judging by the look Alpha Ryan had been giving me after that, I was sure she told him too. Before there was jealousy in his eyes, but now I could only see fear and curiosity. He was cautious with his actions and extra careful with everything that came out of his mouth. He was trying to figure out whether I meant the things I said to Elena, or if I was using her to have an upper hand against him.My spies spotted his Beta on our borders, near a forest on the foothills of Mt. SilverstoneThe sun had set a long time ago, and I looked out of the window at the dark sky, trying to figure out my next course of action. I knew that somewhere out there, Elena was awake and overthinking like always. I could somehow feel it in the restless pull beneath my ribs—the same pull that had haunted me since the night I set foot into the palace. I was waiting for confirmation, but deep

ELENA'S POV,“It's on the foothills of Mt. Silverstone.”The words slapped me back into reality, a reality where I finally started to understand the gravity of my situation. There was a huge possibility that I was the lost Lycan Princess, which also meant I was never a werewolf, as I thought, but a Lycan. Not to forget, I was once married to the werewolf prince and had a daughter with him, while currently I was sleeping with the President of the werewolf nation.I couldn't think of someone who had a more complicated life than mine. It was so bizarre that I started to laugh thinking about it, and the look Beta Corbin gave me made me laugh even harder. I knew he was worried about me and probably thinking the worst, but I couldn't help myself. The whole thing was comical, and I felt like a joker getting ready for my performance.Mt. Silverstone, the mountain from my visions remained a haunting reminder of the things Prince Andrew told me. The white snow and the two little girls playing a

ELENA’S POV,I barely closed the door after Ryan had left the room, before my legs started to tremble beneath me. I felt very lost and overwhelmed by the questions in my head that had no answer. I thought telling Ryan, might help me put the whole thing under a new light, but it didn't. I was still as confused as before, looking for answers in memories that no longer existed. The last thing I could remember about my life was playing with other kids my age in an orphanage as a girl. I don't remember much in particular, but I remember being happy and running through the forest with tall white trees and yellow-orange leaves. I remembered drinking water from a clear river nearby and racing to the waterfall that wasn't far from the orphanage.‘Princess. Lost princess. His sister.’My head spun with every word that came out of Prince Andrew's mouth, and my heart felt too full with uncertainty, too heavy with emotions, and too afraid of the fears of being used by the Lycans for their gain. I
