Nyx POV
There were low murmurs through the gathered Crowd of wolves.
Fight me?
I found the word funny and interesting.
He probably thinks killing me will be easy,
Do i look that weak in his eyes?
I smirked mockingly before I said "oh dear husband I certainly won't disappoint you", Raiden didn't even spare me a glance as i stepped into the fighting ring.
His beta also stepped forward, his gaze was sharp and assessing.
He was taller than Raiden, lean but obviously powerful.
with dark hair and piercing blue eyes that held nothing but anger and hatred in them.
His wolf loomed beneath his skin, waiting, for the perfect time to strike.
To tear me apart.
From the way he looked I could already tell. He wanted to rip me apart.
I stretched my fingers,
feeling my own power in my veins. “You expect me to fight your Beta? Come on Alpha” I said while tilting my head to have a better look at Raiden.
But he didn't respond and his expression didn't change also.
He leaned against the nearest post, and croseed his arms , he was looking at me with that predatory amusement
“ i think you have forgotten You’re standing in a den of wolves, Nyx. If you can’t even handle one, then you obviously don’t belong here.” he said I could here the mockery in his voice.
The crowd were silenty laughing with some small talks rising among them.
I felt my pulse twitch out of anger.
So this was their game.
They wanted to put me in my place.
Their want to make the little vampire bow before her new masters.
Too bad I don't bow? I only rip apart.
I watched as the Beta cracked his knuckles, and rolling his shoulders as he stepped into the fighting grounds.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart,” he said slowly, “I’ll go easy on you.”
I smiler at his words knowing is the otherway around.
I will make sure I show the werewolves we vampires aren't weak and they can't step on us.
I slowly licked my lips, as I looked at the pulse on his neck “ oh Don’t. I like it rough.”
Suddenly The daring smirk on his face vanished.
It was now replaced by a flicker of something darker.
The wolves howled and whistled at my taunt,.
but I was already moving around The ring, rolling my shoulders, letting my body fall into its natural predatory state, I wasn't going to attack first, so I waited for him.
He lunged forward immediately as if reading my mind.
I hurriedly dodged his attack using my vampire supper speed, werewolves werw alos fast but we vampires are faster, speed is one of our powers.
his claws sliced through the empty air as I stepped aside. Fast, but not fast enough.
Before I could regain my step he strikes again.
This time his strike was sharper, more precise.
He aimed low, trying to sweep my legs, but I jumped immediately I noticed what he was about to do, landing lightly behind him.
“Come on Beta,” I called, “ i am sure you can do better than that?” my voice was fillled with sarcasm as I laughed when a growl ripped from his throat
This time, he came at me with brutal force. His fist shot toward my ribs,
but I immediately twisted at the last second, and I catched his wrist and using his force against him.
With a sharp pull, I spunned him around, and kicked his back, sending him stumbling forward.
Gasps rang out from the crowd as there start whisperring something to each other. Their obviously hadn’t expected that.
Dorian steadied himself immediately and looked down at me, his eyes flashing with something much more dangerous now. “You’re quicker than I thought Vampire" he said.
“And you’re slower than I thought Wolve.” I grinned as I said that.
His entire body tensed, as he growled angrily and just then I knew I had pushed the right button.
He lunged at me this time, he shifted not fully, just enough to get his claws lengthening, fangs extending as he let his wolf break out through his human form, he howled loudly before he looked at my direction
Ah. There it is.
Just what I was waiting for.
He lunged at me, much faster this time. I barely had time to dodge before he was on me his claws grazed my arm sharply, drawing the first drop of blood.
I hissed, out of pain as the scent of my blood in the air made the wolves stare at the wound.
Theit were Excited.
Their were Hungry for my blood
He was trying to push his claws into my neck and rip me apart, as he growled angrily I used my full force and threw him off me, and immediatedly stood on my feet again,
, i looked at the wound before I licked the wound slowly watching as it healed within seconds.
“she is healing herself, that shouldn't have been allowed is against the fighting rules.” the crowd started whispering to each other.
So that's why their allowed themselves to bleed, healing themselves was against the fighting rules. Interesting....
That must be a way to show how strong there are, their are probably too prideful to accept defeat even among themselves.
So i think it did be easy to turn them against each other.
Its quite obvious there are all greedy for power.
And will do anything to get it.
The beta looked at me, before he released a low growl and he just attacked again, and this time, from his speed and force, he was serious about tearing me apart.
I blocked his strike with my hands, but the impact sent a shiver up my arm. It wads Stronger, too.
He tried to get behind me, to force me to submit, but I shifted , bringing my elbow up hard.
A sharp crack rang out through the air as my strike landed on his jaw.
Hestumbled back, growling. From the pain.
And I used that to my advantage and lunged at him.
Before he could recover, I was on him. I slammed into his chest, knocking him to the ground.
And in the next second, I strangled him, pressing my forearm against his throat.
A vampire, pinning a wolf.
I wanted to sink my fangs into his neck and completely drain him out if blood, but that will kill him, and That means vampires broke the peace treaty first and the werewolves will use that to attack us, and the elders will certainly favor them.
The entire courtyard fell dead silent.
The beta stared up at me, his breath rapidly his pride shattered, his ego wounded.
I leaned closer to him, my lips brushing his ear as I whispered, “Still want to go easy on me wolf?”
He didn't respond he was just glaring at him angrily. His wolf his Alpha’s second-in-command was now at my mercy.
At the mercy of a vampire.
I slowly turned my gaze to Raiden.
The Alpha’s golden eyes were locked on me, as usual dark and unreadable.
A smile crept up my lips.
now they know what we are capable of.
“Do I belong here now, husband?” I questioned still looking into his eyes
Raiden’s jaw tightened, he clenched his fist but Then, he smirked.
“Oh, you belong here, wifey,” he murmured, pushing himself off the post he was leaning on and stepping forward.
The stopped right in front of me and leaned in to me as his hot breaths cascade down my face sending a shiver down my spine, but I kept my expression cool “But don’t mistake that for victory vampire" he said.
I chuckled as his word before I looked back into his eyes daring him.
The silence stretched between us.
As Dozens of wolves surrounded us, their glowing eyes were observing my every move.
The weight of their stares should have felt suffocating.
But Instead, it only fueled the fire burning inside me.
Raiden stepped forward, his golden gaze unreadable as always “You proved your strength vampire,” he said, his voice surprisingly calm. “But that was just a test, princess”
I smirked before I said “If that was a test, it was a boring one Alpha"
The wolves were obviously angry at my words, as a low growl echoed through the crowd. They didn’t like my confidence,
It tainted their pride
And ego
Their thought I was week so they could step on me.
Too bad.
I wasn't.
The beta wiped the blood from his lips,as he glared at me. “You got lucky vampire" he said angrily.
I raised an brow knowing it's the other way around. “Is that what helps you sleep at night?” i questioned.
A flash of fury crossed his face, but Raiden lifted a hand, silencing him.
His control over his wolves was solid.
A single command, and they obeyed.
Intriguing.
Raiden studied me for s while as he tilted his head slightly. “You’re a fighter little Vampire” he admitted. “But are you loyal?........
Nyx POVThe silence in the Elders’ chamber was starting to get suffocating, the high ceilings in the chamber felt like judgment itself. Including the Silver torches that lined the walls, and the flames looked like there were flickering with restrained fury. And across the obsidian chamber floor, Raiden stood. He looked like war wrapped in royal skin.Tall. Still. And his presence enough commanding. But his golden eyes... when they met mine, I felt something shift, I saw something in his eyes for only a second. It wasn’t rage.It wasn’t desire. It was something colder.Something wounded....And yet, I didn’t flinch.I walked forward beside my mother, our crimson cloaks trailing behind us like blood spilled in on the obsidian chamber floor, with selene walking right behind us.Elder Vaughn cleared his throat. “Queen Ilaria and Princess Nyx. You have arrived unannounced, to what do we owe this visit?”he questioned.“We are here with a purpose, vaughn” my mother said, her voice like ice
Raiden POVI should’ve burned their palace to the ground. When I pulled that vampire fang from my warrior’s corpse, every instinct in me screamed for vengeance. Not strategy. Not patience. But Blood.Just blood. My people were dying. My wolves were being hunted. And Nyx,She is Gone. Silent. She Vanished like smoke. My bride. My enemy. The one woman who thought she could outsmart me.The one woman I let my Guard down when I an with. And now her clan had left me with corpses, the corpses of my warriors.I stood alone in the war chamber, clawing through rage and reason. But I knew if I struck first, if I so much as laid a finger on her borders....The Elders would crush me under the weight of the treaty.Paint me as the aggressor. The villain. So I did the one thing I hated most.I was never patient, but this time I had to be.I waited. And then I acted."Prepare the warriors!," I commanded dorian "we are leaving for the elders council"."Okay Alpha" dorian answered before he left.I
Nyx POV“The wolves were the first to spill the blood of our own” my mother said, pacing around like a storm wrapped in skin. “And if we don’t answer it this, we show weakness.”I stood still in the Queen’s war chamber, my jaw clenched, My heart pounding harder than I wanted to admit.A wolf claw.In a vampire’s chest. And Raiden’s scent still burned in my lungs.“I want them punished,” Mother snapped. “I want their Alpha on his knees. And I want his head if he dares lie to my face.”I didn’t flinch. “We can’t attack mother, Not yet.”She stopped pacing and narrowed her eyes at me. “You are defending them now?”“No,” I said carefully. “I’m protecting us. You know the Elders are watching both clans. If we move first, if we strike without their blessing, we’ll be the ones who broke the treaty.”My mother’s lips curled in disgust. “Then what do you suggest? We sit here and let them kill us in silence?”“No,” I said softly. “We take it to the Elders. Let them decide who started this war.”
Nyx POVThe doors slammed shut behind me as I stepped into my mother’s chamber, sending chills down my spine. The room was darker than usual. No candles, no fire. Just rays of moonlight filtering through the stained glass, casting blood-red shadows across the room floor.I looked around and she sat at the far end of the room, her back straight, her long fingers draped elegantly over the arm of her obsidian throne.Queen Ilaria of the Crimson Crescent. My mother. And the one woman I could never lie to… unless I lied perfectly.“Nyx,” she said without looking at me. “Finally you are here daughter”I moved toward her,my steps slow but steady. “You sent for me mother and I came.”“i thought you wouldn't come,” she said flatly. “You have embedded yourself in the wolf den, you slept beside their Alpha, and now two of our people were taken, and later we found they bodies in the western wood."I flinched a little, but not from guilt. But from the coldness in her voice.Even for her, this was s
Raiden POVI felt it before the guards confirmed it.The stillness, the subtle absence of something I wasn’t supposed to notice. Her scent was goneAnd The bond wasn't pulling at me anymore.Nyx was gone. With no word.No message. Not even a damn goodbye.Just the fading echo of her scent in the hall.I walked through the corridors like a storm wrapped in skin, every step I took felt heavier than the last. The guards dropped their gazes as I passed. They knew better than to speak.I reached her chamber and threw the door open, but it wasEmpty.Neat.Too neat. This time she hadn’t just stepped out for air, she was really gone, her cloak that was usually on the chair near the fireplace was missing. I looked around the room and her enchanted daggers were also gone, the fire was cold. The bed untouched. She had left in the night.Without telling me.Without leaving a message. And gods help meI cared.Where did she go? Is she alright? Did she ran away? Did she go back to her clan? Is she
Nyx POVThe gates groaned open at the sound of my voice there were no guards, no greetings.Just silence, you know that type of silence that came before the storm or after it.I walked into the palace and even the torches lining the entrance flickered nervously, as if they didn’t want to burn too loud, as of they didn't want to be noticed. And the halls were colder than usually, colder than I remembered, the Stone floors I once danced on now echoed like tombs. And the scent of magic was thick in the air it was sharp, old and defensive.Something had happened here.Something big.I didn’t call out for anyone, I Didn’t ask for anyone.Cause If Mother wanted me back, she did make it herself known to everyone I am coming back. And she did.Cause Just as I reached the grand atrium, I heard it, that voice I would recognize in the middle of millions.“Late as ever, princess.”I turned, immediately the voice cameAnd there she was.Selene.Standing in her might. With Same dark violet hair, bu
