AURORA

I saw the pain in Damon's eyes, but I stepped back, forcing myself to look away.

Slowly, I walked towards my father, who was still kneeling on the floor, his shoulders hunched like a broken man.

With trembling hands, I reached out and helped him up. Thomas smirked as he dusted off his palms, the darkness in his eyes unmistakable.

“Thank you, Aurora… but you’re still as foolish as ever,” he sneered.

Before I could react, he grabbed me, his hand locking around my neck, claws digging into my skin. I gasped as his grip tightened, my body frozen with shock and betrayal.

“Aurora!” Damon shouted, surging to his feet as his guards moved swiftly into position.

“If you come close, she dies!” Thomas snarled, dragging me back with him, away from the throne. Fear gripped me. My heart raced; not for myself, but for the child I carried.

“Let her go now!” Damon growled, his voice feral, vibrating with power as he stepped forward slowly.

But Thomas only laughed; cruel and guttural. “She will d

AURORAI walked toward the harem, each step heavier than the last, my heart clenching with every breath I took. The corridors felt longer tonight; as though the palace itself stretched in cruel anticipation.I moved slowly, deliberately, hoping Damon would appear… that he would stop me before I reached the door. When I finally stood before the heavy door, my hand trembled as it reached for the handle. I paused, taking a shaky breath, my chest tight with dread. Then I pushed the door open. The scent of roses and incense filled the air. My eyes darted around the room.Women lounged across the cushions, some reclining, others chatting in hushed tones. They barely spared me a glance; as though they had been expecting me. As though my presence here didn’t matter. My stomach twisted.I moved forward slowly, my steps uncertain. Curtains after curtains passed. My fingers shook as I reached the one I remembered too well; the largest bed. Where Damon and I once shared something intimate.I he

AURORAI stepped quietly into the room, the soft hiss of the shower echoing from behind the bathroom door. Damon was inside. For a moment, I considered joining him; to hold him, to feel his warmth but guilt weighed too heavily on me.I sat at the edge of the bed, my heart pounding in my chest, every second dragging like a lifeline. The door finally opened, steam billowed out, and Damon came out, wrapped in a robe. His damp hair falling loosely over his forehead, droplets of water sliding slowly down his bare chest.I swallowed hard, my throat tightening. I felt a flutter of heat stir low in between my legs. But it quickly drowned by the ache in my heart.Damon didn’t glance at my way. He walked into the closet, silent, distant; like I wasn’t even there.“D-Damon…” I said softly, rising to my feet. I walked over and slowly wrapped my arms around him from behind, resting my cheek against his back. His body tensed instantly.“I’m sorry…” I whispered, my voice barely audible. But his b

DAMONThe heavy doors of the throne room creaked open, echoing through the vast, silent hall.I sat high upon my dark stone throne. The flames of the torches lining the walls flickered violently, as if they too could sense the fury rolling off me in waves. My fingers gripped the ends of the throne’s armrests, my knuckles were white, my jaw locked in restrained rage. Two guards dragged the prisoner in by his arms, the man’s body limp and battered. Blood smeared the collar of his torn shirt, and his face swollen with bruises. My nostrils flared as I laid eyes on him; the bastard who had aimed for my heart but struck Aurora instead. My unborn pup; the thought made my rage boil hotter. I was ready to rip this man apart with my bare hands. As the guards shoved the man to his knees, he groaned but didn’t resist. His head hung low, his graying hair stringy and matted with blood.I leaned forward, instincts humming in my ears. Something was off. The man was older, a bit weaker but strangely

AURORAI lay in the quiet of the dimly lit room, my fingers gently brushing Damon’s hand as it rested protectively over my stomach. His body was close, warm and steady; his presence a comfort I had longed for all my life. This was peace. This was the happiness I had always wanted. But, something stirred inside me, refusing to let me settle. A question, a fear.My mind was clouded, and before I could voice it out, Damon’s voice cut through the silence.“What is bothering you, sunshine?” he asked softly, his fingers lazily tracing circles on my belly.I smiled faintly. Of course, he knew. He always did. He knew me too well.“H-how did the fight end?” I asked, the words shaky as they escaped my lips.Damon’s hand stilled for a second. His jaw tightened before he answered. “If you’re asking about your pack. I destroyed it. Burnt it down to ashes.” he said, his voice even.I gasped, my heart dropping. “I know they deserve it for everything they did but I can’t help but feel… There were i

DAMONI stormed out of the room, the doors slamming behind me as my boots pounded against the palace floors. My heart was still racing, my mind split between fury and fear. For hours, I had been at Aurora’s side, refusing to leave, gripping her hand as if my strength alone could anchor her to life.I hadn’t moved; not until the doctor finally looked up and said. “They’re both fine now, my king. She and your pup are out of danger.”But Aurora still hadn’t woken up. I wanted to argue, to demand more. But the pack doctor placed a firm hand on my arm.“It’s a miracle they’re both alive. Please… hold on to that hope, my king.” So I did. With one last look at her peaceful, pale face, I turned and left the room, my aura pulsing with raw power and barely contained rage.Outside, the palace ground was littered with bodies and dead wolves. The metallic scent of blood filled the air, thick and heavy. The fight had mostly died down, but the aftermath was gruesome. More enemy bodies than my warri
