Chapter 42:Jaden lost control

Serena moaned softly as she slowly gained consciousness. Her body felt heavy and her head throbbed. She was lying on a makeshift bed and the room was dim. Her heavy eyelids opened a crack and peered round. The room was bare;no tables, no chairs. Just the bed on which she lay on. She struggled a little and sat up, wondering where she was. Where was everyone?

Then it all came back in a flash. The fight with the dark creatures;the power surge she felt;her father;Jayden and Tabitha;she gasped suddenly. Jayden did something to her and she remembered passing out.

Understanding dawned on her and she jumped off the bed, stopping momentarily as she felt a wave of dizziness. Whatever Jayden had splashed on her face, the aftereffects were not good. She fought the nausea bubbling up her stomach and staggered to the door at the far end of the room. She was halfway there when the door suddenly opened.
