LOGINNovel's POV
“I didn't take you for a club person, Miss Novel,” he said with a smirk. My mind was replaying my dreams, but I composed myself. “I thought we had a get-together, but it was a prank for the nerds,” I explained, gesturing toward the club’s entrance. He laughed. Though his laugh was swallowed by the loud music, I still heard it, and it was amazing. “You were leaving, right?” I nodded. “Okay, good. Let's go together.” After saying this, he placed his hand on the small of my back. This action sent immediate shivers down my spine. I guess he noticed it, too, since he looked at me and then smirked. I followed him out, and when we got outside the club, I felt like the happiest person alive. I won't say I'm an introvert, but I love my peace and the man beside me too. He pulled his car key from his pocket and walked me to his car. He opened the passenger door of his Lamborghini for me, and honestly, I felt like a princess in distress who had been saved by a knight in shining armor. “Ahem,” he said, knocking me out of my thoughts. “You think a lot, Miss Novel.” He smiled as he started the engine. “I called you after the interview. Why didn't you pick up?” he asked softly. I could swear I heard the disappointment in his voice. “Was it you?” I covered my mouth in recognition. “It was an unknown number, so I didn't pick up.” I said with a look of apology. He laughed again. “You amuse me, Miss Novel,” he said with a smirk plastered to his face as he drove. I swear he's exactly the kind of mess I swore I'd avoid, but after all the lies, maybe a little chaos is exactly what I need. He stopped the car, and when I looked around, I realized I was at my apartment. “How did you know I live here? I didn't tell you.” Was Mr. Greek God here a stalker? He rubbed the back of his neck anxiously, then he finally answered. “I checked your social media pages. That's how I know,” he replied with a smile. “I told you, I find you amusing, Miss Novel,” he said as he locked eyes with me. I couldn't read his expression. How could a billionaire’s son, who was also a billionaire himself, find me amusing? Before I could say a word or react, he kissed me. It was not like I had imagined or dreamt; it was much more amazing. He kissed me softly, like he was afraid I would run away. I was so shocked I couldn't move, and I couldn't kiss back. He pulled away a few seconds later. “Sorry,” he said, then hurried to his car and drove off, leaving me standing there in shock and happiness. “Why did he say sorry?” I thought. Should I call to ask him? What if he says, “Sorry, I was a little drunk, that’s why” What would I do? I could hardly sleep that night, and when I woke up, my eyes had dark circles. Just when I thought today couldn't get any worse, I received a notification from our ‘News Writing and Reporting’ class. It was a loaded class because seniors and juniors were part of it, along with some Mass Communication students. “Why me?” I have been a nerd since forever, and I am an only child. My parents are not very rich, but they are loaded, and the loneliness is the reason why I find it hard to make friends and Survive this class, since nobody really like me I sat at the back today because the hall was full. I couldn't stop thinking about last night. “Why did he say sorry?” I kept thinking. I didn't even notice the guy beside me until he tapped me. “Oh, hi,” I laughed awkwardly, he was The angel of yesterday. “Leo. Leonard White,” he said, and I smiled at him. “Do you need anything?” I asked, and he nodded. “What?” He smiled mischievously. “Your name, please.” I knew I was meant to appreciate his beauty, but I couldn't get Mr. Alexei, aka Greek God, out of my mind. “Novel Hart,” I said, then turned back to my book. I decided to focus on all my classes today so I could forget about it, but after my last class, he called. “Hello?” I said awkwardly. “I'm at the parking lot,” he said, then hung up. I hurried to the parking lot and saw him in his Greek glory. He looked like a movie star as he rested on a new car. I don't know much about cars, but this was definitely not a Lamborghini. “Hi,” I waved. “Hi,” he said, rubbing his hands at the back of his neck. He opened the passenger door for me, just like he did yesterday. He turned around then entered the car. The drive to my apartment was silent, too silent. The only sound in the car was the rhythmic clicking of the turn signal, feeling ten times louder in the suffocating and awkward tension. All of a sudden, he pulled the car over to the side of the road, the engine idling. I turned to him, confused. “What…” Before I could complete my sentence, he kissed me. This time, it was different from yesterday. The kiss was filled with want and need. He bit my lower lip, and when I gasped, he slid his tongue into my mouth. He kissed me hard, and this made me grow wet. His hands found their way to my waist has he pressed me forward and kissed me hard with frustration. “Do you hate me that much?” he whispered against my mouth. I shook my head. “Then why didn't you respond to my kiss?” I was puzzled. He pulled away from me and started the car like nothing had just happened. I fiddled with my fingers, contemplating if I should tell him I was a virgin. But what if he got angry and abandoned me, just like my parents did?Novel’s POV I signaled for Alexei and Alpha Dex to leave the room. I could see the heavy reluctance in Alpha Dex’s eyes, he didn't want to leave me alone with her…..but I had to do this myself. I wasn't even sure if my plan would work, but the raw, pulsing ache radiating from the woman on the floor told me I had no choice. I had to try.The heavy thud of the door closing echoed through the silent room. I turned my attention to the woman huddled on the floor.“You know he is dead,” I said, my voice steady despite the tightness in my chest. She flinched as if I’d struck her, looking up with wide, haunted eyes. “What do you mean? My baby... my baby is clearly okay,” she whispered, her knuckles turning white as she crushed the plastic doll against her heart.“You’re in pain, Riya. I can feel it. I think I can help you, if you’ll just let me.”She let out a sharp, jagged scoff. “I am not in any pain. I am perfectly fine.” She sc
Alexei’s POV“Alpha Dex,” he finally introduced himself, his voice gravelly as he led us toward the pack house.“Alexei,” I answered shortly. He gave a sharp nod, but my focus remained on Novel. I tightened my grip on her hand. Her skin felt small and fragile in my protective hold. As we walked, I noticed how thin the pack members looked, ribs subtly shadowing through shirts, eyes sunken with a weariness that made my stomach turn. Mothers pulled their children into the safety of their skirts, their knuckles white as they gripped them. The children stopped their play, their toys falling to the dirt as they stared at the group of strangers their Alpha was leading through their home. Novel tugged on my shirt, careful of my bruises. I leaned down, the scent of her calming my rising nerves. She whispered, “These people look so hollow, Alexei. I want to help them... in any way I can, before we leave.”I nodded, though a knot of unease tightened in my gut. When we reached the pack house,
Novel's POV I didn't know how it happened, but suddenly the world shifted, and I found myself standing in a hollow, endless void. I thought I was on Kitty’s back... so what happened? How did I get here? The thought echoed in the silence of my mind.I stood tall, my eyes darting around the darkness to see if something, anything, would manifest. By now, I knew I should be used to these sudden, jarring visions, but the familiarity didn't make them any easier. They still hit me like a physical blow, catching me completely unaware.“Hmm,” I sighed, the sound swallowed by the vacuum. “So...”I didn't finish. I doubled over, my knees hitting the invisible floor as a sound tore through the void, a scream so sharp it felt like jagged glass. I slammed my hands over my ears, pressing until my knuckles turned white, but I could still feel the raw agony of that shriek vibrating in my very marrow. My jaw locked, my teeth grinding together, and I was frozen in place. Thick veins began to cord and p
Alexei’s POVI knew it was stupid of me to argue with a younger wolf, but she clearly wasn't a cub. She was young, certainly, but Novel was convinced otherwise. “Ooo, Kitty is a baby wolf,” she’d say. I shook my head in frustration, the thoughts swirling as we moved. We arrived at the Crystal Moon Pack in the grey light of early morning. I suspect our early arrival was due to the unofficial race between me and Kitty. That name still threw me off. "Kitty" should belong to a pampered house cat, not this massive, powerful wolf. Yet, with her pristine white fur and those piercing blue eyes...The realization hit me like a physical blow. The blue-eyed wolf I had spotted at the start of our journey…it had been her all along. I turned to her immediately, my finger level with her nose.“You,” I pointed, but Novel’s voice cut me off before I could demand an explanation.“Alexei...” she scolded, giving me that specific look that told me to drop it.From the corner of my eye, I saw Kitty’s muzz
Novel's POV A soft tap landed on my shoulder, but I refused to budge. A few seconds later, light, feathered kisses brushed against my cheek, and despite my exhaustion, a small smile tugged at the corners of my lips.“Stop,” I murmured, keeping my eyes squeezed shut.“It’s morning, Novel. It’s time to go,” Alexei whispered against my ear. My eyes flew open instantly. The weight of our journey hit me all at once. I had completely forgotten we were still bound for The Crystal Moon Pack. If I hadn’t regretted starting this trek before, I certainly did now. I missed the quiet moments of kissing Alexei; it felt like an eternity since we had truly been together. I had lost all count of the days, the minutes, and the hours.Time had become a blurred smudge of trees and dirt.“Aghhh,” I groaned, releasing a long, shaky breath.“I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m so tired,” I admitted, my voice cracking with the threat of tears.“Too late, My Lady,” he said softly, a hint of a tease in his vo
Alexei's POVMy heart was soaring, Novel was finally awake. I began to run toward her, my lungs filling with a joyful breath, but suddenly the air grew thick. The world began to stretch and warp between us like a distorted reflection in moving water.“Novel!” I cried out. My brow furrowed and my jaw tightened in a mask of confusion. I lunged, reaching my hand out until my muscles strained, but the distance only doubled. She became a fading silhouette, slipping away into the swallowing gray of the fog until she vanished completely.I stood frozen on that spot, the phantom sensation of the earth shattering beneath my boots still echoing in my bones. I began to fall, the wind whistling past my ears at a terrifying speed. My chest tightened and my heart seemed to stop mid-beat, paralyzed by the sheer unknown of the abyss. Just as the hard ground rushed up to claim me, I jolted awake, my body snapping upright in a cold shock.“Hmm,” I exhaled, my breath coming in heavy, jagged rasps. My
Alexei’s POVIt had been two days since Novel was discharged. Two days since the truth of the twins, the pills, and the murder of her parents had finally come to light. The realization that both the doctor and the woman claiming to be her mother were lying monsters burned in my gut. I had already i
Novel’s POVI didn’t know how long I had slept, but when I opened my eyes in that void, the woman was standing in front of me again.“You’re awake,” she said calmly.“Can I go home now?” I whispered.“You are on the verge of death, Alessia,” she replied. Her voice didn't hold pity, only a cold trut
Novel’s POVI couldn't stand being in that hospital for another second. I was stressed as hell and exhauste, the one place I truly hated was a hospital bed. I tried my best to show Alexei how strong I was, but they still wouldn't let me leave. I started training myself, pushing my body to its limi
Novel's POV “Run!” The voice echoed. I tried to make sense of where I was, but the world was a blur of shadows. I turned to see a woman running, her breath coming in ragged gasps, but her face remained a taunting smear of light. “Hello?” I called out. No response. Then it clicked. This was the
