Lila's POV

Here I was, packing the little I had to get going with Cole.

He had accepted my condition, which was that I had to bring Holly with me, and now she was packing beside me ready to leave.

“Oh my gosh. I'm super duper excited.” She squealed for the fifth time in two minutes.

“I know that, Holly. Now calm down. I don't even know why you're so excited.”

“Girl, you have to be kidding me. You have no idea that your mate is a fucking billionaire? Or that he has a lot of company among the human people?”

“I know that, but I still don't think it's that serious.” I chuckled as I sat down on the bed to calm down a bit.

“Oh yeah. I forgot you were raised in a rich home. My bad.”

“Now you're making me seem entitled. Stop it, Holly.” I scolded her with a light smile, memories of my father running through my mind.

“No. I mean what I said. I genuinely forgot you were raised in a rich home. You are so nice and super humble and sweet, that it's crazy to believe you once lived the billionaire

The agonizing sting of betrayal ripped through Cole’s senses, eclipsing the grief and rage that had fueled his charge up the jagged slopes of Mount Aethel. The world swam before his eyes—vibrant energies of shadow and light blurring into a chaotic mess of pain as the dagger’s hilt pressed against his back. Jade’s whispered apology, devoid of warmth or remorse, echoed in his ears like a death knell, a chilling testament to the darkness that had consumed the woman he’d once called his sister in arms. “Jade?” Cole gasped, his voice a strangled whisper that was swallowed by the howling wind. He stumbled forward, his fingers scraping at the air as he tried to grasp the blade protruding from his torso. But his limbs felt heavy, unresponsive, as if his very life force was seeping into the parched earth beneath his feet. The dark fluid coating the dagger’s edge wasn’t poison—it was something far worse: the essence of the Void, a substance that fed on hope and drained so

The agonizing sting of betrayal ripped through Cole's senses, eclipsing the grief and rage that had fueled his charge. Jade's whispered apology, devoid of warmth or remorse, echoed in his ears, a chilling testament to the darkness that had consumed her. "Jade?" Cole gasped, his voice a strangled whisper. He stumbled forward, his hand reaching back to grasp the hilt of the dagger protruding from his back. But his limbs felt heavy, unresponsive, as if his very life force was draining away. Seraphina laughed, her voice a triumphant shriek that resonated through the valley. "Foolish boy," she taunted. "Did you really think you could defeat me? I have been planning this for centuries. Every move you made, every decision you took, was orchestrated by me." She gestured towards Jade, her eyes gleaming with an unholy light. "Jade was always m

The revelation that Lila, seemingly recovered and wielding a weapon of pure light, was still under Seraphina's control slammed into Cole like a physical force. Hope, which had flickered briefly in his chest, was cruelly extinguished, replaced by a despair so profound it threatened to consume him. The image of Lila, her eyes vacant and devoid of the warmth he knew so well, poised to strike with a weapon that could obliterate them all, was a nightmare made real."Lila, no!" Cole cried, his voice cracking with anguish. He took a step towards her, his hand outstretched, desperate to reach her, to break through Seraphina's control. "Please, Lila, fight it! You're stronger than this!"But Lila remained unresponsive, her gaze fixed on Cole, her expression blank. Seraphina chuckled, her voice echoing through the valley, a cruel and mocking sound."Foolish boy," she taunted. "Did you really think you could save her? Lila is mine now, body and soul. She will do as I command, without hesitation,

The sight of the Shadow Keeper, his face etched with a grief that mirrored Cole's own, intercepting Elara's attack sent a shockwave through the clearing. The air crackled with tension, the moonlight casting long, distorted shadows that danced like specters of the past. The Keeper's words, laced with a heartbreaking resignation, hung heavy in the air, a prelude to a tragedy that seemed destined to unfold. "Father, no!" Cole cried, his voice raw with anguish. He struggled to his feet, ignoring the pain that coursed through his body, desperate to prevent the inevitable. "Don't do this! There has to be another way!" The Keeper didn't turn, his gaze fixed on Elara, his stance resolute. "There is no other way, Cole," he said, his voice firm but laced with sorrow. "Seraphina's corruption has taken root too deeply. Elara is beyond saving." He raised the sword, its dark fluid shimmering ominously in the moonlight. "I cannot allow her to be used as a w

The revelation that Elara, Cole's presumed-dead sister, stood before him, radiating the same chilling malevolence as Seraphina, struck him with the force of a physical blow. The world seemed to tilt, the ground unsteady beneath his feet. He had mourned her loss for years, carrying the weight of her absence like a leaden shroud. Now, she was back, not as the loving sister he remembered, but as a weapon wielded by the very darkness he was fighting against. "Elara?" Cole stammered, his voice a broken whisper. He clutched Lila tighter, his protective instincts warring with the agonizing realization that his own sister was now a threat. "But... how? We saw you..." Elara's face remained impassive, her eyes devoid of warmth or recognition. The familiar features were there, the same delicate bone structure, the same curve of her lips, but the light that had once shone within them was extinguished, replaced by a cold, unholy glow. "Seraphina showed me

The chilling echo of Seraphina's voice, mimicking Lila's familiar cadence, shattered the sanctuary's fragile peace. Cole's heart plummeted, a cold dread gripping him tighter than any physical restraint. The image of Seraphina, wearing Lila's face like a grotesque mask, was a violation, a perversion of everything he held dear. "Lila?" Jade whispered, her hand instinctively reaching for her sword. But Cole knew, with a sickening certainty, that it wasn't Lila. It was Seraphina, using her dark magic to deceive and manipulate. "She's not Lila," Cole snarled, his voice laced with fury. "It's Seraphina. She's using her power to trick us." He rose to his feet, his shadowy energy coalescing around him, his fists clenched. He wouldn't let Seraphina desecrate Lila's memory. He wouldn't let her use his love against him. "Show yourself, Seraphina!" he roared. "Stop hiding behind Lila's face!" The figure in the clearing shifted, the il
