CHAPTER EIGHT

~RAELIYA~

Kaelric's words caused a commotion in the hall. My earlier problem was forgotten as I watched Chase tweak out. He was trying his best to keep calm but his expression and words were saying otherwise.

It didn't help that the council were very happy to see Kaelric. As a matter, it almost seemed like they had been waiting for him.

Other than that, it was pretty obvious that most of the Alphas present respected Kaelric more.

The Council, Kaelric, Chase and Luna all went to a secluded place with a few other Alphas while I just stood there out of place.

I contemplated leaving but a part of me wanted to know what the conclusion would be. Was it going to be Chase or Kaelric?

“You really think you're so smart huh?” I let out a sigh as I heard Sophia's voice behind me.

“I don't know what you're talking about” I said without turning to her and she scoffed.

“Bullshit. Because Chase didn't want you, you decided to cling onto his brother? How much more vile can you get? You know he was going to stake his claim on the Alpha title, didn't you?” She accused me and I frowned before turning to her.

“You seem to be confusing me with yourself. I for one I'm not one to use anyone unlike you” I responded, shocking myself once more.

Since when did I get this bold?

She snarled at me but before she could say anything, someone came to drag her away and I realised it was her aunt.

As soon as she was gone, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding before walking towards a chair to take a seat.

My feet were hurting with how high the heels were. I could already feel the blisters forming.

I heaved a sigh of relief as I took a seat. Should I just leave?

After contemplating on it, I decided it was the right choice to leave.

I stood up from my seat and was about to walk away when I missed my step and went falling backwards.

I closed my eyes waiting for the impact but instead, I felt an arm shoot out and wrap around my waist firmly.

I opened my eyes and Kaelric's face was next to mine. He had a smirk on his face as he stared down at me.

A few strands of his white hair had fallen over his face and it took everything in me not to move it away.

“I'm starting to think you're intentionally falling for me, Gremlin” He uttered softly, snapping me out of my thoughts. I tried pushing him away but he held onto me tightly.

“Stay still, he's looking” He murmured and I furrowed my eyebrows before following his line of sight And saw Chase glaring at both of us before he was dragged away by his mother.

As soon as he wasn't looking, Kaelric immediately let me go and I almost fell on my butt.

“You!..”

“We need to talk,” Kaelric interjected. His face and eyes had turned serious.

“I have nothing to talk about with you. Look, I didn't wear this dress because I wanted to but because I wanted to pass a message to Chase and I think I've done that. I'll have this washed and returned back to you tomorrow…”

“Burn it, I have no use for it” He replied lazily and I frowned.

“Still, I'll return it to you. I don't want to be indebted to you or have any connection to you. The last time I remember, you're had your fingers wrapped around my throat” I told him and a smirk appeared on his face.

“Come on baby, don't make it sound so dirty” He replied and my cheeks immediately heated up.

“You know what I meant. Leave me alone” I muttered and was about to walk past him when he grabbed onto my arm.

“Like I said that day, you have something within you that belongs to me so as long as it's in you, we are stuck together baby” He replied and I glared at him.

“Stop calling me baby” I muttered through clenched teeth and he tilted his head.

“You prefer Gremlin?” He asked.

“I don't prefer any. Call me by my name or don't call me at all” I replied and he whistled.

“Fiesty. Your tongue wasn't this sharp when your gown was being torn apart” He uttered and I paused slightly and he grinned, knowing he had struck a nerve.

“What do you want from me?” I asked and he flashed me a dazzling smile.

“I already told you Gremlin, I hate repeating myself" He replied and I scoffed.

“Why don't you take whatever it is out then?” I asked and he rolled his eyes.

“Do you think I wouldn't have if it were that easy? Do you really think I'd rather spend my time with my brother's side piece?” He asked and his words made my heart ache.

“I'm not his side piece…”

“You're his mate. Trust me, I know but his actions say otherwise. If you want my brother then you'll have to go along with my plans” He stated and I frowned.

“What exactly are your plans?” I asked then gasped when he suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him.

“Be mine” Was all he said before I could reply, from the corner of my eye I saw Chase charging towards us.

“You bastard!” Chase yelled as he reached out to punch Kaelric.

It all happened in a blink of an eye. Kaelric winked at me then held onto my waist tightly with one arm before turning to Chase.

Chase held up his fist to punch him but Kaelric was way faster than him. Kaelric slammed his fist against Chase's cheek and Chase immediately fell to the Floor with a groan.

“Chase!” I pulled myself away from Kaelric as I rushed towards Chase's side only for Sophia to push me away as she knelt beside Chase.

“Remember my words, Gremlin. I'll be back for you” And with that, he left leaving everyone in a frenzy…
