Chapter 66

Klaus

Everything felt out of place, and my life was becoming more miserable every passing day. Two weeks had passed since Lisa escaped from the castle, and despite all the attempts made by the search party, she was yet to be found. I had even involved other packs to aid in the search, but all to no avail.

Maeve had also put to bed, and had given Icarus the best gift on earth, an heir. It wouldn't be long before Icarus embarrasses me in front of the entire kingdom. The elders had given me a month to find Lisa and regain my claim as Alpha, and two fruitless weeks had already passed by. Time was ticking, and I was not making any progress whatsoever.

"Reports just came from the Rose park searchers; they're yet to find Lisa." Damon informed me, and all I could do was sit and stare into the abyss before me. It had been like this for the past fourteen days, and I had grown bored of hearing the same thing over and over again.

  • The Alpha’s secret baby   Chapter 65

Chapter 65Lisa Defensively, I shot up from the ground and squared up immediately. From his scent, I could tell that he wasn't that strong, but it was probably best to remain alert. There was no telling if he would attack or not, and I was not willing to risk the safety of my baby for any reason whatsoever. "Who are you?" He asked, his deep baritone voice filled with genuine curiosity and suspicion. "I'm sorry for bothering you, I'll be on my way soon." I replied as I hastily picked up my baby from where he lay. I attempted to push past him, but he held me back. His grip was strong, but at the same time caring. "You're carrying a baby, and it's already late. It's not advisable for a lady like you to be walking around this late at night. You can come in, if you want." He offered. I took a minute to take a good look at his face. He didn't seem to be hiding anything behind his worried expression, and nothing particularly seemed off about him. He didn't wait for an answer, he merely

  • The Alpha’s secret baby   Chapter 64

Chapter 64Lisa It took two days of non stop running and hiding for me to finally make it to the human world. And upon arrival, I couldn't spot any difference between it and where I had just escaped from. The humans were just like me, and aside from the look of fear and disgust that they casually threw at me, they seemed perfectly normal. The only notable difference was the use of color. Unlike the werewolves, humans preferred bright colors. It gave their kingdom a whole different sense of beauty, one that I perceived as alluring. "Hey ma'am! Get out of the rose bushes!" A loud voice yelled at me. I turned around to see a security guard walking towards me, and only then did I come to realize that I was probably in the park. I had been too distracted by the colors, and the loud activities around that I failed to take notice of the odd amount of children and parents. Unlike the majority of them, I seemed very out of place. My clothes were torn, my feet swollen, and Damian wouldn't

  • The Alpha’s secret baby   Chapter 63

Chapter 63Klaus"What do you mean you can't find her?!" I thundered the very second the guards reported that Lisa hadn't returned from her walk. I was doing my best to not lose my sanity, but the more information I got regarding the matter, the angrier I became. "Who lets an undefended woman and a baby out of the castle after midnight?! Have you lost your mind?!" I raged on, my anger growing by the second. It was impossible to remain calm, Lisa needed to be found, and the only person who could provide us with any information was knocked out cold. Lisa had attacked him, and his injuries were yet to heal fully."Send out troops! Find her before I hang all of you!" I ordered before finally breaking down in frustration. How could this happen? How could I let this happen?! I pondered with my face buried in my palms. If only I'd paid more attention to her feelings, perhaps I would have been able to realize that something was wrong. "Enough! It's too late for regrets now." I cautioned mys

  • The Alpha’s secret baby   Chapter 62

Chapter 62Lisa By the time I was discharged from the clinic, it was already nightfall. But despite the time, the entire castle was still bustling with activities. Preparations were still being made, and it was obvious that this wedding was not going to be a small one. I did my best to ignore everything that was going on, but the more I tried, the harder it became. It was impossible to escape all the decorations, or the invitation letters that littered the entire house. Every step I took reminded me that by tomorrow, I would no longer have Klaus for myself, and it made my blood boil more than ever. I managed to keep my rage under check until I was inside the comfort of my room. It was the only place I could vent out all my frustration, but even while I was confided in its bosom, I remained silent. My baby, Damian, was asleep in his crib, and the last thing I wanted was to wake him up. He was the singular reason why I hadn't lost my mind yet, and he was the only thing keeping the bo

  • The Alpha’s secret baby   Chapter 61

Chapter 61Lisa Tears gathered at the base of my eyes, but I promised myself not to cry, not in front of my baby, and definitely not because of Maeve. Just when I thought that my life was finally getting better, more problems fell into my path. I thought that I would be happy when this baby is born, but it seems that destiny had other plans for me. "I wanted to shift the date, I wanted to wait until you were awake, but the elders wouldn't let me! They argued that Maeve might put to bed anytime soon, so getting married to her as soon as possible would be the best option." Klaus explained frantically, and all I could do was muster up a pained smile for a reply. "I completely understand. This was beyond your power, and I don't blame you for it one bit." I managed to voice out without breaking down completely. I didn't want to further the conversation any further, I wanted it to end right here and right at that moment. The more we spoke on the matter the more hurt I became. I couldn't
