"Let go of me this instant! I said let go!" I screamed at Alpha Klaus without fear of what he might do to me. He remained adamant, his ears closed to my pleas as he dragged me away from the park. Left with no other choice, I sank my fangs into his hands, and only then did he let me go.
Reflexively, I raced back to the unconscious body of my boyfriend. We had been outside gazing at the stars and taking in the cold gentle breeze of the night when the Alpha appeared out of thin air. He had snatched me from my boyfriend's arms claiming that I was his mate and that he was taking me away. Mark, my boyfriend, had pleaded for the Alpha to give us time to say our goodbyes, but he wasn't listening. Instead, he had knocked Mark unconscious and had immediately begun to drag me away.
"You uncultured bitch!" He cursed before catching up to me and smacking me across the face. "Did I ever mention that you had a choice in this matter? Do you think I'm pleased that a nobody like you is my mate?! The least thing you can do is shut up and come with me. Disobey me once again, and I might be forced to take your life."
It only took one look into his eyes to confirm that he wasn't playing. One wrong move and he might actually end my life.
"Please..." I whispered, but my pleas fell on deaf ears. Once again, he grabbed me roughly and began to pull me towards his parked vehicle. I didn't fight back this time, I simply complied and followed him to the car.
I had heard stories of the ruthless Alpha Klaus more than a thousand times now. I heard of how he dealt with his enemies, how his strength was unmatched in the entirety of the pack, and how he swindled with women on a regular basis. I had always prayed to find my mate, and while I knew a mate bond didn't exist between Mark and I, I consistently prayed for the moon goddess to help us develop one. But it seemed that my prayers had nor been answered.
Many would be happy to be mated to the Alpha, but not me. What I wanted was a simple and peaceful home, and I could tell that I wouldn't find any of that in Alpha Klaus's arms. How was I supposed to live with another woman sleeping on our bed? How was I supposed to live knowing the fact that I was nothing but a peasant in the eyes of my own mate? This was the last thing I wanted.
We got to the car and he roughly pushed me into the backseat before saying, "Sit down quietly, or I'll tie you up."
I nodded shakily to his words before turning to the window to see Mark running towards us, tears in his eyes as he approached. I called back for him, but my defiance was met with a hot slap.
"Didn't I say not to make a sound?" Alpha Klaus questioned, his eyes glowing with murderous intent as he glared at me.
"I'm sorry. Please don't hurt him." I pleaded as the Alpha turned to intercept Mark. Once again he struck Mark down, but this time he didn't black out immediately. He rushed forward towards me, but the Alpha's strength overwhelmed him, and he fell a second time.
"Ungrateful peasants!" Klaus commented before spitting on Mark's unconscious body. He walked into the car and slammed the door shut before turning on the ignition. At this point I knew there was no need trying to fight anymore. I would only end up causing myself more trouble if I tried running away or retaliating.
I recoiled in the backseat, my tears flowing endlessly while I did my best to suppress my cries from being heard.
I had been so distracted by my tears and emotions that I failed to see the giant structure in front of me. It wasn't until the Alpha ordered for me to step out of the car that my attention was drawn back to reality.
"Walk!" He ordered and pushed me forward roughly.
I had seen the royal mansion many times, but I'd never gotten this close to it before. The gates guarding its entrance were massive and it was adorned with intricate and detailed carvings. Eerily, the gates creaked open and Klaus had me walk in on foot while he drove inside the comfort of his car. He wanted everybody to see me, he wanted me to be humiliated by how out of character I was compared to the opulence that everybody inside the gates radiated.
Many eyes were on me as I staggered into the building's premises. My legs trembled and threatened to give in every passing second, and I got no assistance, not until Klaus waved his hand and ordered for the maids to attend to me.
With care, two beautiful ladies rushed to my aid and helped me into the castle. They rushed me into the bathroom and quickly gave me a bath without my consent before dressing me up in the most elegant of dresses around. For a moment, I felt safe, but that moment was short-lived.
Just as the maids exited the room, Alpha Klaus came walking through the door, his face cold and devoid of emotions. Beside him was a beautiful lady and she clung to his side seductively.
"So this is your mate? She's an ordinary omega, are you sure you're not mistaken?!" The lady by Alpha Klaus's side pointed out, disgust and unsuppressed hatred etched all over her face.
"I'm not mistaken Maeve, and do not ever suggest that I've made a mistake." Alpha Klaus chastised before breaking free of the Maeve's hold. He walked up to me and forcefully grabbed my chin, his thumb squeezing my jaw bone tightly.
"Listen to me you peasant, you're going to get married to me tomorrow. And once we're married, you're going to start bearing me children!"
Chapter 15Icarus I had expected her a lot sooner, but even this timing was perfect for me. Although hurt and full of rage, I could still tell that Maeve was being extremely cautious of me. Klaus had probably warned her to stay away from me, but she had grown too desperate, and had clearly ignored those words of advice. "It's been far too long Maeve, what brings you here?" I inquired while I gestured for her to settle beside me. She obeyed, but didn't exactly sit on the designated spot I had pointed out for her. I knew why she was here, and I knew exactly what she wanted. I had walked into her crying on the day of Klaus and Lisa's mating night, and I had taken my time to exploit her at that moment. She had pushed me away, but that was after I had planted seeds of doubt in her head, and dropped down my address for her. Maeve was in love with Klaus, that much was evident, and she was an obsessive lover. Klaus on the other hand had only agreed to be with Maeve just to foster a good re
Chapter 14Lisa "I....I..it's you!" I squeezed out in a fake enraged tone. "You take me away from the man I love, keep me locked up in this place, and then you ask me who hurt me?"Klaus shrunk back in shock, he hadn't expected my answer, and definitely didn't expect my outburst. He had been genuinely worried for my safety, but for Mark's sake this was the only option I could come up with. Klaus couldn't know that I had gone to visit Mark, he wouldn't take that information very well. And he couldn't know that Mark was the reason I was crying, that would only make things worse. "Push me away all you want, you still can't change the fact that you're my mate, and I'm yours!" Klaus shot back at me. "When are you going to accept reality and move on?!" He yelled before turning away from my teary eyes. At first I assumed it was a bloodstain, but after close observation, I finally managed to confirm that it was indeed lipstick. It was stuck just behind the collar of his shirt and I was cer
Chapter 13Lisa The moment Klaus left the room, I immediately jumped down from the bed and hurried to the clinic once more. I just couldn't sit aside while Mark was busy fighting for his life. With the help of some guards, I was able to find my way to the clinic. And the moment I arrived, I raced straight to Mark's room without asking for the nurse's permission. Mark was awake when I arrived, and unlike before, he wasn't coated in bandages and syringes. His healing speed had regained its output, and most of the injuries were already gone. I had a bright smile on my face as I approached his bed, but the same couldn't be said for Mark. At first he pretended like he hadn't seen me enter the room, and when he could no longer ignore my presence, he turned his face away from me. "Don't do that Mark, we both know I didn't have a choice." I pleaded with him, but he wasn't exactly listening."What are you doing here then, if you didn't have a choice? You shut me down for him! You've clearly
Chapter 12Klaus After my discussion with Lisa had ended, I took her back to the room, and after showing her the most affection I could, left the room for the study. Since her arrival I had been working from home, and it hadn't exactly been easy. Even though I didn't exactly care for her, I didn't want to leave my newly wedded bride for work just days after our wedding. She wasn't fully accustomed to the place, and with Maeve roaming the castle, I just couldn't leave her alone just yet. "Any recent developments?" I inquired from Damon as I settled behind one of the tables. Damon had already gotten to work the moment I dismissed him from the dining table. At the moment he was the one running everything about the company, and he was doing a terrific job. "Not much, except for the fact that we might lose a valuable investment if you don't return to work soon. Zenith Cooperation refused to sign the papers, they want a face to face meeting with the CEO before they can further the contra
Chapter 11Lisa I sat beside Klaus, and the only reason why I hadn't been scolded and kicked out was merely because Klaus was seated by my side. To these men, my status as the Alpha's bride meant nothing to them. All they could see when they looked at me was an omega who wasn't worth anything, and that was evident in their eyes. To them I was nothing more than one of the hungry ladies that roamed the streets, I had only gotten lucky, and luck didn't matter to them one bit. All five of the elders before me had smiles on their faces, but their happiness had nothing to do with me. They were merely happy that Klaus had found his mate, and that they wouldn't have to worry about getting disbanded and losing their worth to Icarus. "We've gotten the mating ceremony done, is she with child yet?" One of the elders asked, his greedy eyes wide with expectations. "Not yet, we've decided to take things slow for now. Lisa is not yet accustomed to this type of life yet." Klaus answered before rea
Chapter 10KlausI stared at her in anticipation for a reply. It was a difficult thing to ask of her, but it was necessary for my plan to work out. It would be impossible for her to love me if she remained romantically attached to someone else. I wanted to be the main focus of her love life, and for that to work, it was necessary that the idea of Mark becoming her lover in the distant future was completely vanquished."Do you promise that Lisa? You can't love him, nor can you accept his love. We're married now, we should focus on each other." I urged, and only then did she manage to speak. "What about Maeve? Will you continue to love her?" Her voice was a whisper, yet it was heavy with emotions. I hadn't expected her to throw that question at me, yet I was happy she did. I might be playing a game with her at the moment, but it wouldn't be fun if she wasn't playing along. I started my reply with a simple shake of the head. "Now that we're together, Maeve is no longer my lover." I cla
Chapter 9LisaWithout care for the people in the room, I rushed towards Mark's unconscious body and lifted him into my arms. Tears gathered around my eyes as I inspected his wounded body. He was still alive, but wasn't doing very good. His body was already cold to the touch, and death would become inevitable if he didn't get medical attention soon. "What did you do? What did you do to him?!" I questioned roughly as my tears began to drop. "The guards found him trying to sneak into the castle. And when he was caught he had the audacity to fight back and soil the name of the Alpha. Normally I would have beheaded him by now, but since he's a friend of yours, it wouldn't be fair to execute him without letting you say your goodbyes." Klaus answered coldly, his voice empty and hollow as he spoke. It was more than clear that he meant every word he said, and he was ready to kill Mark the very moment I let go of him. "Please don't hurt him, he's the only one I have left." I pleaded, and on
Chapter 8Lisa I woke up feeling cozier than usual. A familiar warmth wrapped around my body, and all I could do was let myself drown in its comfort. However, just as I was about to close my eyes a second time, I suddenly became aware of a strong arm draped protectively around me. Turning cautiously, I found herself face to face with Klaus. He was seraphic as always, even in his sleep. I took a minute to admire every arc of his face, before finally returning to reality. Frantically, I raced out of bed, and only then did Klaus's eyes open lazily. "What did you do to me?!" I yelled out as soon as he sat upright on the bed. With a look of shock, I inspected myself thoroughly, and after two minutes of silence and skepticism, I finally came to conclude that he hadn't touched me. "What were you thinking? That I took advantage of you in your sleep?" Klaus asked with an arched brow, a look of disgust etched on every corner of his handsome face. It was wrong for me to jump to conclusions t
Chapter 7KlausLisa pushed back against me anytime I attempted to get closer. I could smell her fear, yet her determination to keep me away prevailed over her fear of me. She wasn't as weak as I had made her out to be, and a part of me was proud of her. I had watched her confrontation with Maeve from the window and had sent Rudolph to fetch her. I expected her to sit still and take Maeve's bullying, but she had actually fought back, and for that brief moment I felt proud of my mate for the first time. "I won't let you do what you want with me! Even if you go on with this, I'll keep killing your babies until the day I die!" She yelled out in a shaky tone, and only then did I pull away from the unrequited embrace. I glared at her with rage in my eyes. Did she just threaten to kill my children? Maybe I had heard wrongly, surely she hadn't developed the guts to threaten the Alpha. "What did you just say?" I questioned in a calm, yet serious tone. I wanted to make sure I had heard her
