Pov: Derrick
Anya became my mate and we made a promise to be there for each other till the end. We were going to stay best friends and lovers no matter what comes our way.
The night we became mates, she gave me everything she had and I did the same. We understood each other completely and being lovers was the most beautiful thing that had ever happened in my life.
I dedicated everything to her.
Anya continued working in the restaurant while I increased my shift at the club. I worked nights which affected the time I spent with Anya but it didn't affect the love we had for each other.
We were both alone in the world. We had no one but ourselves and yet somehow we were fine like that.
Soon, it was hard to think of a time when she wasn't in my life. The best memories of my life were with her and we made happier memories as lovers.
After a month, we decided to move in together to cut down the stress of going back and forth between our apartments. It also made it easier for us to handle the rent.
I was so much in love with Anya at this point that she became part of every passing thought I had.
I would stay home all day while she was off at work and when it was time for me to prepare for my shift, I would leave early so I could use the extra time to stop by the restaurant and spend some time with my girl.
A strange number was having my shift and she would text me when it got too busy for calls.
It was perfect. We had everything you could ever think of. It was our fairytale love.
One day as we sat in the parlor binge-watching a show on N*****x, Anya got a call from a strange number. The caller didn't say much except they would like to fix a meeting with Anya.
Naturally, I was skeptical about the whole thing but we decided to see what it was all about together.
The next day we got a call from the same number the caller told Anya there was a car outside waiting for her. She told the caller she was going to come with her lover and after much hesitation, they came to an agreement.
We got dressed and came downstairs to see the car there waiting for us. The model of the car made it obvious that whoever had sent the driver was not just rich but crazy rich. It made it much easier for us to enter the car.
I could tell that Anya still felt tense from not knowing what this was all about. I laced my hands with her and whispered how it was going to be alright. I whispered suiting words to her and promised to brutally kill whoever it was if it was a trap.
It took us almost an hour to get to the estate. From the gate, we drove through a road path surrounded by beautiful fields and a sports area for tennis. We drove some minutes before coming up to the house or should I say mansion.
It was so big I had a hard time focusing on anything other than the house. Anya gaped at the house more than I did. It was bigger than anything we'd ever seen.
"Now I'm scared," I told Anya, helping her close her mouth before she started drooling.
She chuckled but I knew she was still tensed even more now than she was before. Anyone would get tensed by the sight of the mansion. It was not just big but beautiful.
The driver came down from the car and grinned when he caught the look on our faces. He must be used to seeing visitors gape stupidly at his master's majestic home.
He bowed. "Please if you'll follow me."
He walked up the marble stairs and we followed trying to think of a logical explanation for why somehow this rich man would want to see Anya.
We talked about it together silently using our mind link. I could tell Anya was being honest when she let me know she was clueless.
The driver took us to the butler, an aged yet agile man with a clipped smile just like that of the driver. The butler greeted us with a curt bow and then asked us to follow him just as the driver had done.
He led us inside the big house painted in white and filled with magnificent paintings and some eccentric artworks. It was hard to focus on one part of the house for too long as we walked looking at everything.
I felt awkward in the house when I considered what I had worn, a simple T-shirt and blue jeans but there was nothing else I could have worn that would be worth it. The house outdid my whole wardrobe effortlessly.
We got to a room where the butler tapped on the door twice before letting us walk in. Anya entered first holding onto my hand so tight as if I was going to turn to dust any moment leaving her there alone.
The woman looked up from the table in front of her and smiled. It was a soft tender smile that had an infectious effect.
Her red hair was long and had a grey strand wholly at a portion of the left side. There was something oddly familiar about her and Anya's mind link confirmed this.
"Hi there, Anya." She said in an impressive accent.
By her voice, I could tell she was the caller. Anya stopped walking halfway into the room after the woman had spoken.
"It wasn't easy finding you. But I knew I had to." She said adjusting her glasses.
Anya's heart raced at an alarmingly fast pace. I got scared and asked her what was wrong but it was as if she couldn't hear me. She stood, frozen.
"Who-" Anya's voice broke off. "Who are you?"
"I think you know the answer already. Nala must have-"
"Just answer my fucking question!" Anya bawled. Her whole body was shaking badly and her breath came in hard blasts.
The woman wiped at her eyes in a way I had seen Anya do so many times. I gasped.
"I'm your mother."
The whole air was filled with joy and happiness as flowers were used to decorate the brightly lit wedding hall, it was finally the awaited time for Derrick and Anya. It was their happiness and they truly deserved it. Invitations had been sent far and wide to neighboring clans who were glad to join them in this ceremony.Anya looked at herself in the mirror with a satisfied smile, her dress dazzled with a thousand diamond stones that shone brightly and were at the same time eye catchy. This was her dream dress and she was going to wed the man she has always loved."You look beautiful," Derrick said as he walked into the room gawking at her."You know you shouldn't see your bride before the ceremony." Anya teased but she knew quite well she wanted to see him before the ceremony."That shouldn't be our concern, all I know is that I'll be looking at my beautiful bride before our ceremony….. damn you're beautiful," Derrick said pecking her lips as he stared into her amber eyes that had onc
"I never thought I could be this happy in my entire life." Derek the alpha of the Richards clan shrieked in joy as he had just won a lottery. In a sense, he did win the lottery. "I never thought it would be this easy, they came in here by themselves." He laughed as he drank the beer in his hand, for a year he had thought of ways to bring down the two top rival feared by many other clans but here was the opportunity in front of him.He knew that the clans would be at their weak spot right now as their heirs were missing and they would be searching for them, the last thing that would come to their mind was preparing for war."Sir what is your command," Mark asked bowing on one knee waiting for Derek's command."I'm bloodthirsty right now and there's an opportunity to quench that thirst, let's finish them all." He told Mark standing up from where he sat and taking a large gulp of this beer as he walked to the window looking down at his clan members who had suffered because of the Zhukov
Derrick's father Harold paced around the room with worried eyes wondering where his son might be, if he went missing and was nowhere to be found that means he is doomed because he had no heir to pass the throne to. He had involved the police who were going to do a thorough search in finding his son, the guards weren't left out in the duty of finding his son either. Gabriel peeked inside the door with a conceited smile before walking in with a worried look. "There is still no sign of him." Gabriel reminded his brother of the already-known fact that had lingered in his mind, thinking about it made Harold bitter and pained. "I'm sure we will find him," Harold said positively, trying to brighten his already dampening hope that was lingering by a thread. "There is no doubt that he ran away," Gabriel told Harold, pausing and taking a look at his expression before he continued. "He thinks nothing of the privilege he has and is ready to through it all away, do you think such a person fits
Anya's povI picked up my phone sitting on the table beside me dialing Derrick's number hoping he would pick up his phone immediately, I needed to tell him I was leaving urgently."Hello?" I heard him reply at the other end."Derrick, how are you doing?" I asked standing in front of my mirror and packing my hair as I was getting ready to go out."I'm good and you? Did you find a way out?" Derrick asked curiously."Yes, and I hope it works out." I sighed still feeling nervous that I might get caught."Give me details about it." He said."I'll be going for some shopping so I'm hoping to use that opportunity to escape, I'll be leaving in a few hours and will meet you where we had planned to meet," I told him quickly as I heard footsteps in the hallways."Okay, that's fine." He replied."Someone's approaching my room I'll call you later," I told him and immediately ended the call.My door slowly opened and my parents walked into my room, my face scrunched into a frown as I looked at them
Gabriel's PovI gulped my wine, taking a whiff of the cigar in my hand letting the smoke through my nose. I turned to look at Miriah who was doing the same thing with his legs crossed with no care in the world."I have him in my clutches because I can give to him what he desires most…. Getting out of here." I told Micah who let out a chuckle. He was the only person I could trust and call a good friend. All my life I had felt empty but he was always there to make sure I was alright without judging me."Oh my friend, you are a lucky man, he wants to leave the throne willingly without you stressing a finger." Micah smiled as he took another sip of his wine.I smiled to myself imagining how I would look sitting on the throne with my head up high…. Fascinating. There would be nothing even my brother could do about it. He was old from battles and getting weaker with the stress of administration. Dealing with him would be quite an easy task that I could ever imagine."My brother has increase
Derrick pov I saw Anya's missed calls and tried to dial her number but saw her call again and received it. I wondered what she wanted to tell me as I also had good news to tell her. I paced back and forth around my room excitedly, wanting to spill the news."Hello." I heard her say from the other end and a smile formed on my lips…." Why haven't you been picking up?" She asked like she was about to cry."Sorry, I had left it in the room…. I have good news to tell you." I told her and paused to know if I could go on."Okay." She said almost excitedly "Our plan to escape would work out sooner than we expected," I told her and she squealed in excitement making my heart beat in excitement…. I loved when she was always happy, it made me happy too."That's great, we need to do it fast and most importantly it has to be successful…. Carter's parents are coming over today and there's no doubt they would want us to get married sooner." She explained to me and I curled my fist in anger as I let
