Chapter 9: Intervening

As Adhara took a deep breath preparing for what would undoubtedly be the biggest war in her family, Jareth, smiled looking at the note Adhara had left him. Jareth, had returned to the company with a smile that scared everyone.

Someone who wasn't smiling, was smiling for no reason and that made the others anxious. Because, basically, they didn't know how to act. Everyone in the company was waiting for an explosion, while Jareth took out of his pockets what Adhara had dared to leave him.

“This is humiliating, but, funny.” he whispers in an icy voice.

No one listening to his tone of voice and seeing his murderous look would say that what they were seeing was something amusing to Jareth and it really wasn't. He had been treated like a company man who had been given as payment, less than he earns in a day.

“He's going to pay me back.” Jareth whispers as he calls for his secretary who immediately appears almost at the door.

“Do you need me, Mr. Every?”

“Where is my assistant?”
