I could hear muffled sounds. It was whispery; like an untamed clatter, coming from an unknown place. The most amazing thing was I couldn’t recognize the sounds. It wasn’t from the cellar I stayed in.
“Is she…the Alpha’s mate??” “Wow… she’s so pretty!” “Quiet! Let’s go out so we won’t wake her up…”
“Oh, no. Alpha is coming, let’s leave!”
The next thing I heard was the sound of a door opening, with a creaking sound. My eyes immediately opened swiftly out of shuddered open that minute. The first thing that my eyes laid on the moment I opened it was white ceilings. I stared at them confusingly…
Where was I?
With the Moon Goddess perhaps, because I remember trying to take my life.
Slowly, I sat up from the bed, rubbing my eyes to see everything clearly. It was by the time I dropped my hands that I came face-to-face with a handsome stranger. All of a sudden, like strong tidal waves, the incidents that happened began springing in.
The ropes.
The tree.
And, my body dangling before it.
My lips quivered when I remembered that it was that same face I had seen before I had passed out. I remembered a voice yelling so much at some people to bring me down. I also remembered being carried somewhere. But everything had blacked out. I didn’t remember anything after that.
Directly ahead of me was a man staring at me so intensely. Like I was some exhibition in a museum for display. I began to sense various parts of my body been self-conscious. I shrugged a shoulder, deciding to figure out a way to know where I was.
“W-Who a-are you?” I asked, wriggling my brows at how intimately his gaze was on me. It was at that moment the most delicious smell entered my nostrils.
“Mate! Mate!” My wolf, Merida yelled; jumping with so much excitement. My eyes directed to the supposed person she called our mate. The man had a bulky stature that was intimidating. In fact, he had the aura of an Alpha. I became so scared of his stares as his eyes bored into mine.
A solid hand which burned through my skin gripped my waist tightly. It was so possessive that my knees began to weaken. My body welcomed the shrills of passion as it went down my bone. No one, in fact nobody had ever held me like this in my entire life. I had never been romanced on, neither had I been glanced on like this handsome stranger was observing me. This made me wonder if my wolf was actually right. If he was really my mate or not…
This was impossible.
How could I have a mate?
My mate was Beta Devin and he rejected me, right? Or was he— Was he my second-chance mate?? He definitely was. But, how could this perfect creature be mates with someone like me? I was a miserable Omega nobody cared about.
“I—”
“No, please don’t reject me. I promise to never show up again but please don’t reject me,” I begged, going out of his arms. His entire face was masked with an amazed expression, as he watched me carefully.
I had to leave.
If I stayed, he would surely discover about the lies my pack told of me. When he did, he’d reject me just like my first mate did. With that thought, I did the first thing that came into my mind.
I sized up the distance, running past him with my wolf, with full speed. Next, I opened the door and fled his presence that minute.
===
Bad decisions.
I am the queen of that. I am that one person who had been misunderstood many a times. It was no wonder my pack treated me like a piece of shit and bullied me daily. When I ran out of that room, I shifted that instant and ran into the forest, trying to go to anywhere as long as it wasn’t near my second-chance mate.
I could hear the warriors pursuing me but I didn’t halt even for a second. I continued running so fast as I surged ahead, with a very startled expression on my face.
“What are you doing? Take me to mate, now!” Merida said. I ignored her, kicking my legs further. I didn’t want to pass through the pain of rejection again. Instead, I’ll rather die than go through something like that again. Cause I was unwanted.
No one had to scream it to me to tell me that.
I reached a familiar part of the forest I remembered going through. I remembered this was the exact river I had met that Maliah (the mermaid) in. Too bad I was going to end it all here. My wolf could hear footsteps approaching it. I quickly shifted to human form and dived into the river to end it all.
As I got in, I could feel myself slowly sink in. I couldn’t even swim because I never got a chance to train with the pack members. They had isolated me so much that I learnt the hard way, crying everyday with no one to sooth or comfort me. Whenever I had wanted to train with them. they’d call me a murderer and force me to get out of the water no matter how much I explained myself to them.
I felt the water choking me. It entered my ears, mouth, and all other parts of me that were opened too. I went deeper and deeper into the shallow end. I opened my eyes when I got down there. There was something different about this part of the world. It was peaceful and serene. So calm and quiet. This was the first calmness I had experienced in the last five years.
My throat began to burn as I began to see various colors. I began to sense myself passing out from the non-breathing state I was in. I just hoped this time no one stopped me and allowed me to meet my parents with the Moon Goddess.
All of a sudden, I felt someone dragging me to the surface. It was unexplainable because I had made sure no one had seen me before I jumped in. The last thing I remembered was being dropped on dry land.

My eyes bolted open the minute I felt someone’s lips on mine. I narrowed my eyes, wondering who it was—only to open my eyes fully, finding that same male that Merida claimed was our second-chance mate. For a moment, I stare into his brown eyes which are warm. He seemed too bright for his own good.I got into my senses when I discovered we’ve been staring at ourselves for a long period of time. I immediately blinked at him in total dismal. But it seemed like he was not having it. My petite hands directed to my lips, focusing on him. He just kissed me! “D-Did y-you just kiss me?” I asked, furrowing my brows at him. I expected him to reply he didn’t. Instead, he lifted me by the collar of my shirt, pulling me up as if I was some kind of lifeless entity.“W-Wh- “I tried to say but he interrupted that instant.“You,” he started off, staring at me so intensely. “Why are you so keen to end your life?” He ask
Patricia had so much to say to me. She had babbled about why I should keep on living and not try ending my life. She even made me promise to her not to. On the verge of tears, I hugged her. My spirits made me feel so alone. I knew deep down; I was just this small girl who had been misunderstood by lots of people. And, I never even bothered to explain myself again because they just never believed anything I said. She left me after a while. The guards watching me informed me of their Alpha’s proposition. He had ordered to see me for some reason. And now, I was on my way to wherever he was located, with two bulky guards at my side. They all made it seem like I was some psycho that needed watching and it irritated me. As we halted in front of the Alpha’s workplace, I saw one of the guard’s pupils dilate, I knew he had just mind linked the Alpha. The next thing I knew we were already enterin
I was taken to a room by the guards this crazy Alpha assigned to me. They kept hovering around me even when I entered the room. The room was an extremely large one. It smelled like candies. Ok, not exactly candies but it was this refreshing scent I perceived. Something woodsy and delicious. It was familiar. Like the same Alpha. My eyes immediately directed to one of the guards. I hesitantly asked him, “Whose room is this?” I didn’t miss the confused expression he gave me. Although he answered, in more of a submissive way… It was as if I was some important person.“This room belongs to our Alpha, Luna. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call us.” He answered, bowing down. My brows furrowed in confusion. I didn’t understand why he would put me in his room? Back at my pack. I couldn’t even live with my family. How would I be able to live with an Alpha?“The Alpha told me to mention that
I was pissed. In fact, pissed was an understatement. I was so annoyed and angry. I could feel my Merida inside me. She was so hurt at the sight in front of us. The girl with the red hair was kissing our mate, right in front of us. It all reminded me of the scene back at my pack. When Beta Devin marked the Queen bee of my pack directly in front of me.In total disbelief, one of my legs retreated back. That made Alpha Killian look at my direction that instant. The female who had kissed him spared me a glance. I could read the expressions on their faces. They were both surprised I was actually there which was insane. My other leg followed the other, taking a step back, with a hand on my chest.Turning around, I ran through the door I had come in from. Perhaps, my expectations were too high. I shouldn’t have foresaw having a mate. Perhaps, I wasn’t just bound to have a mate. I sho
“Stay here, Celeste. I have something important to do.” Alpha Killian said. My hands reluctantly moved without permission to take a hold of his. But it was too late. He had already gone.Knowing that, I growled alone to the comfort of the room. It felt cold and annoying. There was this sudden need in me. A need to be with Alpha Killian. My body also seemed to be forgetting Beta Devin’s rejection. Even though I could still feel him mating with his girlfriend, it was no longer as painful as before. This definitely had something to do with the fact that I had accepted his rejection.Standing up, I walked to the mirror I noticed in the room. My hands raised the cloth I was wearing which revealed my stomach. I had never got the chance to examine my belly but I was beyond startled by what I saw. There were purple like traces on it which were a little red on my pale and white skin. I couldn’t believe that there was this amount of damaged wounds on my body. Thou
It was like I was lost. I couldn’t even focus on anything part from that beautiful scene that had occurred when I was a little girl.Sounds.That was what I heard for a long while. Not until I realized that they weren’t just sounds. Someone was trying to reach out to me. I immediately spinned back to reality.“Celeste!” I immediately sprung out of my thoughts, looking directly in front of me. An overwhelming expression was written all over her face.“You seemed lost in thought. I was asking what flavor you wanted.” She breathed out. Trying to focus, I opened my mouth to answer her.“Oh, sorry about that. Chocolate I guess.” I replied her. I watched as it was scooped into the cone shaped cup. The moment we purchased it, we left there.I arrived back at the pack with Kate. I showed my gratitude before she left, saying she had another outing with her friends. Thus, the stuffs we had bought were all in my hands.Carrying a whole lot o
Alpha Killian was still very much positioned between my legs. His face held an angry frown that went all the way to his cheekbones to his jaw. He growled ferociously, with his pupils dilating into pure black. My heart thudded at how scary he looked right now. In fear, I withdrew from him. I slid from his grasp, taking several steps back after I came down from where he had placed me on earlier. What was I supposed to do now?No, this couldn’t be happening! My back came in contact with the wall directly at the entrance. With a scowl written all over his features, he thudded his feet towards me. I could feel my chest beginning to tighten at all that was happening. I heard that Alpha’s were very possessive with their mates. I even witnessed my pack’s Alpha tearing apart a rogue for grazing his mate. That was how bad it was.Why did I run my mouth? Why did I…?These thoughts were encrypted on my mi
It was all like one crazy tsunami crashing in. I had no idea what to do nor where to start from. My legs moved wobbly to where Alpha Killian was positioned. He seemed to not even notice I was there, so how was I supposed to stop him. With a million folds of thoughts rushing through my head, I did the one thing I never thought I’d do.I screamed. The instant I screamed; everyone became silent. Alpha Killian froze at his spot, taking a glance at me. I could hear people cackling at me. There were luscious whispers, mocking me.“Does she really think she’ll stop the infamous cruel Alpha?” One said.“Such a filthy Omega!” A female voice boomed too.“The guts she had to murder her father and show her face!” Someone else said. Please stop.Stop it, Alpha.Don’t harm Beta Devin.I said in my thoughts with so much hope that he would actually hear. Didn’t they say mates could mind link each other? This scene rem
