Chapter 4

Penulis: Wendell Mayhew
Over in Rosalie's car, Sebastian had just found out who she was. She was a part of the Griffins of Janover.

Sebastian's brows creased slightly. If not mistaken, the Griffins were the juggernauts of Janover. Every move they made could rock the entire city.

If Whitney had been in the car as well, her jaw would have dropped in shock.

The Griffins of Janover, the family she desperately wanted to form an association with, were seeking help from Sebastian, the useless man she'd just divorced.

Soon, the car stopped outside a residential compound.

Once they got out of the car, Rosalie hastily brought Sebastian into one of the bedrooms.

A sickly old man lay on the bed. All the color had drained from his face. Even his lips were purplish. Every breath he took seemed to drag on forever. It was as if he were a dying candle flickering in the wind.

A middle-aged man and a doctor stood beside the bed. Dressed in linen, the doctor was inserting acupuncture needles into Rosalie's grandfather, Oliver Griffin.

Sebastian approached the bed, and when he saw what the doctor was doing, he frowned and said, "You're putting the needles in the wrong acupuncture points. If you continue what you're doing, I'm afraid Mr. Griffin Senior won't live past tonight."

Everyone in the room was stunned. They turned around and looked at Sebastian and Rosalie.

The doctor furrowed his brows and snapped, "Who are you, you ignorant young man? Are you doubting my medical skills? Do you know who I am?"

He was greatly displeased.

He had been practicing medicine for over three decades now, and no one ever dared to say he'd made a mistake with his acupuncture points.

The young man before him looked to be about 26 or 27, but the former had the nerve to speak recklessly and cast doubt on his acupuncture technique!

How dare he run his mouth like that?

Acupuncture was considered one of the hardest fields of medicine to master. No one could become an expert unless they had a decade of training. If a person wanted to be accomplished in the field, they needed at least two decades of training and experience.

The middle-aged man beside the doctor had a strong jaw, bold features, and a stern gaze. He glared at Sebastian and fumed, "Who are you? Who allowed you to come inside? Get out!"

"Dad, he's the genius doctor I brought back. Mr. Sinclair recommended him. He has something called a Goldcrow pill which can treat all kinds of illnesses," Rosalie swiftly explained.

The middle-aged man's expression darkened with suspicion. "What did you say? He has the Goldcrow pill?"

He was Levi Griffin, the current head of the Griffin family and Rosalie's father.

Before Levi could ask further, the doctor snorted, "The Goldcrow pill? I've never heard of that before. Are you sure you didn't get conned, Ms. Griffin? If there's a medicine that can cure all illnesses, why would we need doctors?"

His words were dripping with scorn.

Levi frowned.

Rosalie quickly cried out, "Dad, it's true. Mr. Sinclair told me about it …"

Worried that Sebastian's presence would affect the doctor, Jonah Pike, Levi roared, "That's enough! Get him out of there! We have Dr. Pike here. He's all we need!"

Jonah was known as Steinberg's genius doctor!

It had not been easy for the Griffins to invite Jonah over to treat Oliver. Levi was not going to let a young man ruin things for them.

Rosalie wanted to try and reason with Levi, but the look in his eyes made her freeze.

"Get out," he ordered.

Upon seeing that, Sebastian huffed in displeasure, "Since you don't believe it, Mr. Griffin, let's forget about it. Still, out of courtesy, I'll give you a warning.

"If he continues to administer the same acupuncture treatment, in less than five minutes, Mr. Griffin Senior will be coughing up blood and taking his last breaths. When that happens, don't come begging for my help!"

Sebastian turned to leave.

Infuriated, Levi hollered, "Beg you? You think too highly of yourself, you punk! Since you're so sure of yourself, care to make a bet?"

"What bet?" Sebastian turned back around and asked.

Levi sneered, "We'll bet on what you just claimed will happen. If we end up begging you for help, I'll not only get on my knees, but I'll even let my beautiful daughter marry you! But, if my father recovers, you're going to have to break all four of your limbs today, punk!"

Sebastian smirked. Glancing at the blushing Rosalie, he replied, "Deal! I'll wait for you to get on your knees to beg me and give me your daughter's hand in marriage!"

Once he finished speaking, he walked out of the bedroom.

If it had just been Dale, the Thornes' reputation would have been enough to subdue everyone there. However, things were different now that Miguel had made an appearance. His mentor was Colter Wilde, who was renowned in Nimodies. Not only was Colter a powerful entity at the fourth level of the Primordial Reversion stage, but he was also in the same sect as Darwin. He didn't fear the Thornes at all on account of his level of cultivation and his status. Hollis and the others didn't even have the right to speak in front of him."Sebastian, apologize to Mr. Hale at once!" Hollis yelled urgently. He couldn't afford to offend Miguel, but he couldn't let Sebastian die, either. Otherwise, what would he say to Ignatius when he got home?Isabella would never forgive him either.Sam and Caden both said anxiously, "Sebastian, kneel and beg for Mr. Hale's forgiveness!"Sebastian didn't even bother to look twice at Sam and the others. His cold gaze turned to Miguel.Although Miguel was only

The problem was that Sebastian didn't seem to be at the third level of the Soul Awakening stage. Before Dale could recover, he felt an intense pain in his chest. "Aargh!" Dale screamed as he looked down. There was a bloody hole that was in the shape of a palm, and it was spurting out blood."You… How dare you—"Before Dale could finish, Sebastian raised his palms again and thrust forward. Dale disappeared in a mist of blood. Everything had happened in an instant. By the time everyone recovered, Dale was already dead.Marcellus was frightened out of his wits. As soon as Sebastian finished speaking, even the Thornes looked at him in confusion. He had just come to the Holy Grandia from the secular world, and he had been with the Kissons in the Amethyst Cloud Citadel the entire time. How could he have any grudge with the Skylux Sect? What was going on?The others didn't know about it, but as soon as Sam had reported it to him, Sebastian had already guessed that the Skylux Sect had set up this trap because they wanted to avenge Horatio. If it had happened just a day earlier, Sebastian wouldn't have risked it.There were too many experts in the Holy Grandia, and Sebastian knew that he couldn't fight against an entity in the Primordial Reversion stage. Although Sebastian had always been aggressive, he was never reckless. However, he was now at the second level of the Primordial Reversion stage. He was confident of fighting even against someone at the fifth level of the Primordial Reversion stage. After all, he had the help of the Divine

Marcellus was reluctant, but he would never dare to offend a Thorne.Besides, their target was Sebastian, not Hollis. It would be best to avoid offending the Thornes or getting involved in any conflicts. Therefore, Marcellus stepped backward and let Hollis have his seat. Now, Sebastian was seated in the main seat while Hollis sat next to him. If no one said otherwise, everyone would assume that the Thornes had come to support Sebastian.Sam frowned as he stood behind Hollis. Sebastian was certainly a shrewd man. However, what did it matter? Wouldn't his true colors be revealed very soon?"Did I say that you could sit?" Sebastian asked coldly when he saw that the rest of the crowd was about to sit down. A few sect representatives had already sat down, but they hastily stood up again and looked at Sebastian in confusion.Hollis glared at Sebastian grimly. Why was he showing off? Hollis was the true descendant of the Thornes, but he hadn't had a chance to say anything at all. S

The sharp slap had shocked everyone there. Marcellus was staring at Sebastian in shock. They were on the Divine King Sect's territory. How could Sebastian be so bold?"At your age, don't you know that you should obey the age hierarchy?" Sebastian's cold voice echoed in the great hall. Everyone held their breath at once, and it became so quiet that one could have heard a pin drop. Dale looked extremely grim. Sebastian had stolen the words right out of his mouth. Sebastian was only in his 20s. How could he mention the age hierarchy to Dale? The rest of them looked stunned. Dale was Sebastian's senior, wasn't he?"Y-You little punk—"The man beside Dale had just opened his mouth when Sebastian slapped him. The man flew all the way out of the great hall. He crashed into the tree at the entrance and actually knocked it down. "Don't you understand?" Sebastian sneered. "You're nothing in front of the Thornes. Don't you know that there's a hierarchy?"Everyone was immediately fu

Meanwhile, Sebastian and the others had arrived at the entrance to the Skylux Sect's branch. Hollis gazed into the main hall from a distance and scoffed as he looked at Sebastian. "Go ahead, Sebastian."Despite his politeness, he was inwardly amused. It would be a miracle if Sebastian wasn't frightened into wetting his pants by the huge numbers that had turned up.Sebastian glanced into the main hall. They were nothing but trash in his eyes, so he strode forward fearlessly. The moment he walked into the great hall, countless people looked murderously at him. Morgan couldn't help feeling startled. He was the only one among the younger generation of the Thornes who had no grudge against Sebastian. That was mostly because Morgan had known from a young age that he would never be outstanding among the Thornes. The most he could hope for was to bumble through life. Therefore, he had no particular emotion toward Sebastian at all. He hadn't wanted to go with them, but no one would
