“Hey, what’s wrong? Wait a minute, I know that look,” she said, looking at me.
“um, I think I forgot something”
“like a credit card?” She said, completely confident.
“I think so”
“Fear not, for miss T will save the day!” she said posing like a superhero!
I sighed in relief and laughed “saying oh! No save me, save me!” mimicking someone in trouble, which made both of us crack a smile.
Normally she was extroverted, unlike me, but by hanging out a lot, she ended up being infected by my secret introvercy. Like me, when she’s around unfamiliar company, you might think that she’s deaf or something. But she’s not exactly like me because I have this strong imaginative mind. I can create a fantasy Cosmos inside my mind! Now that we’re together a lot, she might even end up acquiring such imaginations.
I like it when she’s in such an imagination, because after all we’re like in the same world, and it’s even easier to get along with someone similar to you, eventually.
She signaled a bartender and; he came with a POS machine. She gave him a credit card and she entered her credentials and paid.
“Excuse me, would you like to help me with taking a picture of the two of us, please? Thank you,” she said as a bartender handed her a card.
Frankly, though we talked a lot, I kept myself from mentioning any romantic thing directly. I just used metaphors because I knew she understood that language too. Now that she was asking for pictures, it confirmed that she was into this Dating thingy!
Girls taking pictures with dudes it’s pretty normal?? Not really! At least not Taylor. She hates taking pictures not only with dudes but also with herself alone. She even used to ditch class photos, so her asking for a photo was something not significant.
She fished in her purse a phone and handed it to the bartender.
“Hey, don't think that it was my treat today!” She said, looking serious, but I knew she wasn’t.
“I know, I’ll transfer your money once I get home,” I answered
“um, are you thinking what I’m thinking?” She said as we were exiting the Restaurant.
“Walking down to the bus station, instead of taking a taxi?” I answered, guessing.
“Exactly! “
We were that friends that completed each other’s sentences.
However, we hadn’t talked about the Love thingy just yet
While walking to the station which was like 20 minutes, we passed the ice-cream shop and we bought ice-cream cones, one each. (This time I paid with some liquid money I had with me)
While walking, we passed to one of those public benches and I suggested we take an abrupt break, though I knew we weren’t tired at all.
I cleared my throat and shot my shot.
“So, on a scale of one to ten, how can you rate today’s date? “ I asked, staring softly at her
Suddenly, her face became like that of someone sucking a lemon! And she asked “, I’m sorry, what?”
“Oh C'mon, A date!” I answered, trying to defend myself. I knew that she came, knowing that it was a date. It’s that she likes to brag a lot.
“Whoa Whoa whoa, let’s make it clear now: you asked me out on a date, and I paid??” she said standing and looking at me, pretending to be angry.
“Yep, That’s what it feels like having a good samaritan besides! “ I said smiling.
“matter of fact, when transferring my money, make it double!” She said,
“Affirmative, sir” I answered while saluting.
She smiled and looked down.
I knew that she was going to say some other funny thing, but she held my hands and made me stand up, kissed me on the cheeks, and hugged me tightly.
“um, that explains everything except my rating, Thingy?. How was our date?” I said, holding her right hand while we sat down.
“Everything was going as planned perfectly. I can say that it was a perfect date. So it’s 9.5 on ten.” She said politely and very attentively.
“Why not ten out of ten?”
“spilling a drink on the shirt!” She said, laughing.
“Hey! It was an accident,” I said, sounding a little bit babyish.
“C’mon, it was fun and lovely. Seeing you with that nervousness all because of coca-cola.” She said, smiling.
(Wait, who asks a girl to review a date?)
We stood up and walked toward the bus station, and that’s when I said
“Hey, I like you. You’re a fantastic friend. Your sense of humor, your beauty, and everything,“ she said politely.
I looked at her, smiled and added,
“Plus, I can kill for that outfit!”
“oh, stop!” For the first time, she was shy.
Then She said “I like you too”
We entered on a bus, and we sat together.
After a few minutes, it was my stop. I kissed her on the forehead and said “ Sayonara, See ya.”
She seemed kinda sad and uncomfortable, but she managed to hide it. She waved at me and I got out.
“If you dare to send that money, Imma block and report you! Plus, I will Kill you!” it was Taylor on SMS After I left the bus.
After a few moments, she texted me saying that she arrived safely.
At 20h after dinner, we chatted on W******p all night long till 03 in the morning.
we continued to talk until late at night
That’s when I proposed to her.
I asked her “may I say something, please? “
“anytime” she replied
“I Love you!” I wrote that shaking and sweating, worried that she could have been friend-zoning me.
“oh! Thank you” she replied lately like after 20 minutes, though I could see that she was typing all that time.
I remember how I felt, I was panting and sweating in the night for no Reason at all, because I knew that she loved me too but for some reasons I wanted her to say “I love you too” but I didn’t want her to know about it.
So we said goodbyes and tried to sleep.
I found it difficult to sleep after what happened. Frankly, I expected her to say "I love you too" or "I'm not interested" (which she couldn't) but now that she thanked me, I was in a dilemma, not sure which side she was on. After one sleepless hour, I turned on the internet again and streamed some white noise music to help me to fall asleep. After like one minute still struggling with sleeping, my phone woke me up with a message. "Hey, I love you too. I have loved you since the beginning, but I was waiting for you to take the first step. Good night Davis"
Before going to bed, I took my diary and wrote down a quote from Lise Kiberwa's poetry collection called "Wind", Completely for no reason at all!: >>Like the wind, I don't want to belong anywhere. Just like the wind, I want to be felt but not seen. Like the wind, I want to both strengthen and extinguish the wildfire. Like the wind, I want to stress some poor old lady gently sweeping her compound by bringing all the dirt she's been removing. Although I want to be like the wind, my vulnerable heart needs a home.<< That night, we chatted about that day and how her adopted parents are my real parents. she was totally stunned but I can tell that she already knew ab
The next Friday, I watched over my sister and Taylor while my parents went to work. I also changed my names across all my social media platforms, from Dave Robinson to Davis Depp Jackson. My parents would come back in the evening, and we would watch animated movies together. Me, Dinah and mummy, we like animated movies, but Taylor and Daddy don’t. They just like hanging out with the family during movie time. Saturday, my parents invited all the family to my welcoming party, majority of them who didn’t even know me. I met my cousins, my uncles and my aunts; they told me that I had no Grandparents because they had died many years ago.
She drove me to the metropolis and after saying goodbyes she headed back home and I proceeded to the agency responsible for trainees. Because I was the top in my class, I became so popular on the board that I started to make money by working along with actual engineers. Operating engines, repairing hibernation pods, repairing and designing 3D printers, and all sorts of mechanical and technological development were my specialty, plus I had knowledge about programming and geography so I wasn’t treated like a trainee but a normal scientist. ASB had a mission to go to space on ISS in the next two months, so they thought that it would be a good idea if they added a program of
After not being able to identify what’s wrong with pumps physically, we ran the full diagnosis of the captain’s deck to see whether it was system glitches. Everything seemed normal, but the progress was stuck on 87%. That's when I told Tom that we can copy the system data to my drive to study them later. In the process, we managed to pass all restrictions by using a Magnetic fields generating device to override the systems because the normal procedures required Admin’s Authority, and it was against laws to have a copy of the project like that on your computer. &nbs
Aboard the STEED 7, we were 25 crew and a Robot. Everyone, including me, had piloting skills just in case. Well, I have to admit that my skills were more Virtual Reality based. In real life, I never sat in a pilot's cabin flying a ship, but theoretically, I was a co-pilot. Machines double-checked the ship for every single criterion and they allowed us to board the spaceship. After wearing space suits and strap in, the Automated voice came from the cockpit saying that we had 10 seconds counting down. All others except the pilot and his co-pilot were sitting in the main fuselage, with our seat belts on chatting. "Initiating detaching procedures" that
All 23 crew members were murdered or transformed into beasts. There was only the Robot left so I tried to drive it so fast but because it would raise the dirt, attracting attention to it, I activated the vacuum shield over it and flew it back to the STEED 7.It was a frightening experience to lose 23 members at the same time in front of your eyes, the captain and I were crying, not knowing what was next. We opened the door to the garage and let the Robot in.Those creatures saw the lights on our ship and rushed toward us. The captain quickly turned on the Vacuum shield over the ship and everything became invisible to the creatures. After few seconds he received orders of aborting the mission and heading back to the ISS.He launched the ship off the planet and he set course back home. I went to check the samples brought by the Robot, but I didn't touch anything, neither was I in the same room with the Robot.Just used grass room
*Taylor’s POV* After my beloved Davis got selected in the group of people to go to the ISS, I knew right then that everything was going to be not good at all. I had many questions inside my mind: What if their take-off failed? What if they got lost in space? What if their spaceship failed or malfunctioned mid-air? What if they made it and he met another girl up there? But in the meantime I snapped out of those thoughts, I hugged him, said goodbye, and watched him go. That was the most painful thing that ever happened to me. Not that all sideways possibilities were about to happen, but because he was all I ha
