Chapter 3

Author: Nameless
Tyler's face flushed, and his voice cracked like he'd been wronged.

"Mr. Fuller, please don't get the wrong idea. There's nothing between Ms. Smith and me. I left the jacket here the other day and forgot to take it home."

Natalie stepped in front of Tyler, shielding him from me.

"William, that's enough. He's just a kid. Why are you scaring him like that?

"His clothes got soaked, so I had a new jacket delivered for him. I only brought him here today so he could clear out his stuff. Just because he's leaving the company doesn't mean he can't take his belongings with him—"

I shoved Natalie aside and slapped Tyler across the face, cutting off the rest of her explanation.

The crack of it echoed off the office walls.

"William, what are you doing? Why did you hit Tyler?" Natalie yelled furiously.

I slapped her too, looking at her with contempt.

"Why did I hit him? You think you're getting off the hook too? If he's got the nerve to lie to my face, then he better be ready to take a slap for it!"

We had business partners coming in for a meeting in the top-floor conference room later that afternoon.

But Tyler stood there blubbering and clutching his cheek, while Natalie looked like a mess, with a red handprint across her face.

I looked coldly at Natalie. "You want to keep making a scene here, or are you coming home with me?"

Natalie's face went white with anger, but she finally gritted her teeth and followed me out.

When we reached the parking lot, Natalie took the keys from me and headed for the driver's seat.

Tyler reached for the door and tried to get into the car.

"Get lost!" I barked at him. "I'm not giving a ride to a homewrecker!"

"William, you're being ridiculous!" Natalie scowled at me.

I scoffed. "Me? Ridiculous? If he has the nerve to hook up with a married woman, he better be ready to hear people call him out!"

Tyler immediately lowered his head, playing the helpless victim. "I just wanted to give you two a ride and clear the air. I never meant to come between you two."

I didn't even look at him. I kept my eyes fixed on Natalie.

Natalie had no choice but to pull Tyler away. "Take a cab home. I'll reimburse you."

Only then did Tyler leave reluctantly.

Not wanting the household staff watching the spectacle, I marched Natalie straight upstairs as soon as we got home.

She thought we were heading for our bedroom until I walked right past it and headed for the study instead.

She hurried ahead and blocked the door, her voice uneasy. "Can we talk somewhere else? You've been gone for ages. The study is probably just covered in dust."

I shoved her aside and threw the door open.

The sight inside sent a jolt of fury through me.

My dad's portrait had fallen to the floor, smeared with a black, unidentified substance.

The desk and floor, littered with papers, were covered in dried yellow stains.

A strong, foul smell filled the room.

I gagged. "Who did this?"

My voice shook with rage.

Natalie said awkwardly, "It... it might have been Tyler. He must have left the door open and accidentally let the cat—"

"Accidentally?" I grabbed Natalie's hand and dragged her to the study doorway.

"The study is secured with a biometric lock. It only recognizes your fingerprints and mine. Don't tell me this was an accident!"

Rita hurried over, her voice dripping with flattery. "William, what happened was our fault. We're sorry. You have my word. From now on, we'll make sure Natalie knows better. And as for that shameless homewrecker, do whatever you want with him!"Tyler shook his head in terror. "Ma'am! How can you do this? You took my gifts!"Rita ignored him and turned on Natalie instead. "You ungrateful girl! Apologize to William and admit what you did!"Natalie trembled as she struggled to her feet and crawled over to me, wrapping her arms around my leg. "William, I'm sorry. Please don't divorce me. I really can't live without you..."Without even glancing at her, I gestured for the security guards to haul her away, then turned to the lawyer. "Get them to sign the papers."The lawyer laid the documents out on the table one by one while the notary set up a camera to record the entire process.Natalie refused to sign, but with Bridget ready to come after her again, she had no choice. She reache

I turned and walked over to Tyler, who was curled up in the corner. His face was covered in blood. The moment he saw me coming over, he started trembling and scrambled backward."Mr. Fuller… Mr. Fuller, I'm sorry! I really am!" His voice shook, and tears and snot ran down his bloodied face. "I'll pay for everything. I'll pay you back!"I grabbed him by the collar and hauled him up. "Pay me back? With what? That was my dad's portrait. When you let your cat piss all over it, did you ever think about the consequences?"Tyler shook his head frantically, stumbling over his words. "I… I didn't mean to! The cat didn't know any better. I'll bring her to you, and you can do whatever you want with her, okay?""Didn't know any better?" I scoffed and kicked him hard in the stomach. He shrieked and dropped to his knees, trembling all over."The cat didn't know what it was doing, but you knew exactly what you were doing. You're the one who made it happen!" I roared.Desperate for help, Tyler

I snorted. "Too bad the person you paid to delete the footage didn't have the necessary access. He had no idea the hotel keeps a backup copy in a hidden folder."And it just so happens my sister owns that hot spring resort. She had her people pull the worst of it and send it straight to me. I'm more than happy to let the whole country see it."Tyler screamed and lunged for my phone. Before he could reach me, a security guard immediately tackled him to the floor.Graham's face fell. He quietly asked Natalie, "Is this footage real? If it is, and you two get a divorce, you're done for."Natalie frantically shook her head. "Dad, don't listen to him! It's fake! He changed my face with AI!"I sidestepped her as she tried to grab my phone."The cops can decide if it's real or fake," I said flatly. "Either way, when we divorce, you're walking away with nothing."All the color drained out of Natalie's face.Graham and the rest of the Smiths looked pale, too.Graham rushed over, grabbed

I wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth and laughed coldly."Sure, Natalie did save my mom back then. But in all the years we've been married, has your family not gotten enough from me?"Who invested in your husband's failing logistics company and kept it afloat? Who paid off the millions your son owed? And that jewelry you're wearing—who bought it?"Rita couldn't refute that, but she still insisted I was in the wrong. "I don't care what happened. You had no right to hit anyone! Look at Natalie's face! She's your wife! How could you even hit her?""My wife? What a joke!" I pointed at the red handprint across my cheek. "Ask your precious niece if she even deserves to be my wife."Graham looked stunned.I opened my photo gallery and pulled up the pictures of the study."She brought another man into my house without my permission, then let him use my dad's portrait as a litter box for his cat. And after that, he even slept in the bed Natalie and I shared!"Graham's expressio

Tyler continued to plead, "Mr. Fuller… Mr. Fuller, I'm sorry. I was wrong—"Before Tyler could finish, I brought my fist down again. "That one's for running your mouth and insulting my dad!"He collapsed on the floor, curling into a tight ball."Ms. Smith, help! Help me! He's lost it! He's out of his mind!"Natalie rushed over and grabbed my arm. "Stop! You're going to kill him!"I shoved her away. She stumbled onto the coffee table, leaving a red mark on her forehead."Now you care?" I stepped on Tyler's wrist and slowly ground my heel into it.The sickening crunch of breaking bones punctuated his screams."When you let him drive the car I paid for, stay in my house, and destroy my dad's portrait, you didn't seem to care so much, did you?" I sneered.Natalie pulled out her phone with trembling hands and called her dad. "Dad! William's gone insane. He's trying to murder us! You need to get down here now!"Tyler's hysterical sobs echoed through the room.I calmly took out my

After that, I didn't even bother going back to that so-called home.I told the housekeeper to throw out everything Natalie and Tyler had touched, then checked into a five-star hotel owned by Fuller Group.Less than an hour later, someone knocked on my door.Expecting room service to drop off the wine I'd ordered, I opened the door without a second thought.A hard slap landed across my face before I could react, and I stumbled back against the doorframe."William Fuller! How could you be so cruel?"My ears rang from the blow.Natalie pointed at me and unleashed a torrent of abuse."I never knew you were such a vicious, despicable bastard! Finding excuse after excuse to bring Tyler down wasn't enough for you. Now you have to pull this kind of scumbag move behind his back?!"I dug my fingernails into my palms, holding myself back. "What the hell are you talking about? What exactly have I done?""Don't play dumb!"Natalie shoved her phone in front of me. The screen was playing a
