Priscilla’s POV

I paced back and forth, biting at my thumbnail until it nearly drew blood. Everything was spiraling out of control, the plan that day was supposed to fix everything, But no.

Aria somehow just turns it around.

I slammed my hand against the wall, breathing hard. Damn her. Damn her and her stupid, defiant face.

All I wanted was to get back my power, to remind them who owned that school, to make them fear me again. Instead, I was rotting in this hideout, too dangerous to show my face.

The door opened behind me, and for a second, I felt a flicker of relief, hoping it was Damon. But no.

Selene stepped inside, that irritatingly calm smirk on her face.

“What are you doing here?”

She crossed her arms, looking me up and down like I was something she scraped off her boots. “I came to see if you were getting dumber by the day,” she said smoothly.

My jaw clenched. “Excuse me?”

“What’s with all these failures, Priscilla?” she went on, voice mocking, eyes glittering. “Aria

  • The Apex's hidden mate   Follow your heart

Quin’s POVI stepped closer, my heart in my throat as I looked down at her — my wolf, only…not a wolf right now. Her human form looked so big yet so fragile, so tired. The way her chest rose and fell, slow and heavy, made something twist deep in my chest. Eliza hovered near me, watching with that fierce protectiveness I’d come to depend on. But all I could really see was her. How long had she suffered… because of me? “I’m so sorry,” I whispered, my voice cracking. “I’m so, so sorry.” Then — a tiny movement. Her fingers twitched, barely a shift, but enough that I saw it. My heart slammed against my ribs. Eliza leaned forward, eyes wide. “She moved,” she breathed. “Quin, she must be listening to you. Talk more.” I swallowed hard, feeling the sting of tears. “I…” My voice shook. “Even when I couldn’t see you for those five months, I felt you. I felt how much it hurt. Your sorrow, your pain — it was like I was drowning in it every day.” Her eyelids fluttered, a faint sign of li

Aria’s POV “Eliza, where did you even get that conclusion from?” She didn’t answer me right away. Instead, she looked over at Quin, a silent conversation passing between them. Quin sighed, then met my eyes. “I told Eliza,” she said gently. “I told her it was you who saved me that day, Aria. What you did… it wasn’t something an omega could ever do.” Just then, the elevator pinged and opened, giving me a moment to breathe as I stepped out. Eliza looked around with huge eyes, her mouth falling open. “They even have a whole floor as their own hospital?” She turned toward me, wide-eyed. “That’s crazy, Aria.” I gave a halfhearted shrug. But she didn’t let it go. Eliza rounded on me again, her finger pointed like a dagger. “Don’t think we’re changing the subject just because i am admiring the place,” she warned. “Quin told me what happened, and I know there’s no way an omega could do that. You owe us the truth.” I drew in a slow breath. “Alright,” I sighed, “I’ll tell you.” Eliza cr

  • The Apex's hidden mate   Which one of them?

Aria’s POVThe next day, I found myself back at Quin’s apartment. I stepped inside and heard laughter as I made my way to the living room. Quin and Eliza were side by side on the couch, their eyes glued to their phones, excitement practically buzzing off them. “I told you I’m the best sniper in Legion Warfare, admit it!” Quin was grinning ear to ear. Eliza rolled her eyes, tapping furiously at her screen. “You only look good because I keep reviving you when you do something dumb, genius.” They both burst out laughing, shoulders bumping like nothing had ever come between them. I cleared my throat.“So…I’m guessing you two sorted things out already?” They looked up, still smiling, their eyes a little softer, like scars had finally found a place to heal. Quin smirked, shoving Eliza’s shoulder. “Yeah, well. We decided we’re the best team there is — in Legion Warfare and in real life.” Relief flooded through me. “Good. Because I’d hate to see either of you fighting again.” Eliza shr

  • The Apex's hidden mate   Tough life ahead

Aria’s POV I parked my bike beside the four familiar cars lined up at the far end of the hospital lot. The place looked normal enough on the outside, plain white walls, neat hedges, a metal gate. But I could sense the sterile, suffocating air of a psychiatric facility before I even stepped through the doors. Inside, I spotted them instantly. Even with their masks on, they stood out like wolves in a den of sheep. Tall, powerful, dressed in clothes far too sharp and expensive for this place. Thane looked up as I approached, giving me a relieved nod. “We waited,” he said simply. I returned a grateful smile, then turned with them toward the reception counter. The woman behind it glanced up, professional and polite. “We’d like to see a patient,” I asked. “Mr. Evans.” She blinked, typing something on her keyboard. “Are you relatives?” “No, we’re… just friends.” Her mouth pressed into a disapproving line. “I’m sorry, I can’t give out patient information to non-relatives.” I opened

  • The Apex's hidden mate   Lifted weight

Quin’s POV Eliza’s face went paper-white, horror stretching her eyes wide. “What…what did they do to you, Quin?” I swallowed, tasting the bitterness of old pain on my tongue. “They did a lot,” I rasped, voice shaking. “So much I can’t even put it all into words.” Eliza reached for me, like she might hold me together if I fell apart. “You don’t have to say it,” she whispered, tears trembling on her lashes. “If you’re not ready—” I shook my head, firm. “No. I have to. You deserve to know. None of what happened was your fault.” Her lip wobbled. “Quin…” I took a steadying breath, feeling the weight of memories press on my ribs. “They… performed some kind of ritual. Something twisted. It ripped my wolf away from me.” Eliza gasped, one hand flying to her mouth, but I kept going, the words raw and unstoppable. “They locked me in this tube,” I said, voice cracking. “Like I was nothing. And my wolf…they used her. As a weapon.” I blinked hard, trying not to drown in the images. “I coul
