I Don't Care

Gemma put one hand on the table and the other on her chin. “You think I care for what happens to my life?” Gemma knew that the mysterious man had not expected her to answer this.

“The last thing that is certain to happen to all humans is death. There’s nothing to be afraid of.”

Even though she couldn’t see him, Gemma could feel that man in front of her at a loss for words. But it wasn’t long, because he opened his mouth again. Although now his voice sounded a little hoarse.
