Talk In The Dark

Cold.

It felt like a lump of ice had been stuck to one side of Gemma’s body when she opened her eyes.

Gemma’s head throbbed excruciatingly painfully, causing Gemma to close her eyes again for a moment.

Where is she?

Gemma wanted to get up, but she couldn’t move. To be precise, Gemma’s consciousness hadn’t fully returned, so she couldn’t feel her legs and arms.

Gemma opened her eyes again, and she studied where she was now. She lay on the damp stone floor, the uneven surface jabbing and hurting her body every time she moved.

This room looks like a prison. The iron bars on the side farthest from Gemma lay confirming that. Nothing helped her vision apart from the light shining from above, perhaps the moonlight streaming through the crack in the wall. Gemma squirmed, and it was only then that she realized her hands were handcuffed.
