POV DEFNE

I woke up in that hotel room feeling like everything had changed, I felt like someone else... Or maybe like that part of me that had allowed itself to be trampled on by a man who wasn't worth it.

Adem was gone, but he had left a black envelope on the table. When I opened it, nervousness took hold of me; a key, an address and a black credit card.

Use it for all your expenses. I don't want you to miss anything, just remember that this is our secret.

I moved that same day to the apartment which was very beautiful and although small, it was full of luxuries. Too much for someone like me who only knew debts and blows.

But I didn't have time to enjoy my new home, I had to go to the office, I had to work as if my life hadn't changed forever.

I put on an elegant suit as usual, and spent a long time hiding with a lot of makeup the trace that Berat had left on my face.

I had been working for the Sahenk brand for a little over two months, and although I barely knew the man who was my boss, every time he approached me a shiver ran through me from head to toe. Something that told me that this was only the beginning of something very dangerous.

I was going through invoices and a couple of contracts, trying to concentrate, when I heard heels that I already knew. The door to Adem's office slammed open. It was his wife, Enise Aydinlar.

My boss's wife came in with that look of arrogance that only people who were born with money have. He glanced at me sideways through the office glass and I could see how disgust was reflected on his face. To her I was a mere assistant, a lower-class woman who did not even deserve to be spoken to. He has always looked at me like that, as if I were the trash that crosses his path.

"Enise, I didn't expect to see you around here." Adem's voice sounded annoyed.

"You must be my husband's new assistant." She said, ignoring Adem to look at me for a second, a smile full of falsehood peeked across her face. I'm Enise.

I could only grimace and nod.

"I will retire to continue my work, I will be at my desk if you need me, Mr. Sahenk." I said, I needed to run out of there before the tension suffocated me completely.

That woman was full of poison. I knew very well that there was no love between them, that they had married fourteen years ago out of pure interest, because their families wanted to unite textile companies with the car brand. They both didn't even respect each other, however, seeing her there reminded me that he had a family, a daughter named Zeynep, and that made me feel like the worst woman in the world.

From my desk I heard them talking unintentionally.

"What did you come for?" Adem asked in a dry tone.

"Today we have a family lunch, Adem. I came to make sure you'll go. It's important, your father organized it and you can't miss it. It's at one o'clock, I'll send you the location by message."

"If it's an obligation, it's obvious that I should go."

She said goodbye coldly and when she left she looked at me again with a disgust that made me just want to disappear. She thought she was the owner of the world because she had the surname Sahenk, but what she knew us was that her husband had touched my cheek with an affection that she had surely never known.

A few minutes later, Adem's door opened, he was waiting for me standing there.

"Defne, come in for a moment." He ordered.

I walked in feeling like my heart would jump out of my chest at any moment. He closed the door behind me and I felt the silence become suffocating. I stood in front of him, I wanted to ask him a thousand questions, but there was only one that was tormenting me since our conversation at the hotel.

"Sir... In addition." I started by playing with the edge of my jacket. "The apartment, the card... Thank you. But there's something you said yesterday, you said you'd help me if I was able to bring you to ecstasy. I don't understand what you mean by that... What do you expect from me?

He took a step toward me, shortening the distance. He bent down, his face was very close to mine and his hand went up to the back of my neck, he tangled his fingers in my hair so firmly that I had to let out a slight sigh.

"Do you want to know what ecstasy is to me, precious? I don't want just ordinary sex. I don't want a woman who spreads her legs just because I pay her debts.

I shuddered under his touch. His eyes were charged with lust, and although he felt a little afraid, the curiosity was much greater.

"He ecstasy..." He brushed his lips against mine without kissing me. "It is that you give me your will until you know where you end and where I begin. I want you to groan my name out of breath as I possess you everywhere. I want your hands to search for me desperately, to beg me not to stop and to be able to make me lose control completely, something that no one has achieved with me. I want your pleasure and dedication to be total, without rules and without limits. That, Defne, is to take me to ecstasy... And it's the only thing I'll accept as payment.

I froze, my face burning and my legs trembling. His words had been so explicit that I felt a damp heat between my muscles. He was asking me to lose ourselves in the deepest sin.

"Now I want you to keep working. I have a lunch to attend, my father wants to introduce my brother Devrim's future wife, another stupid loveless marriage for the family collection. Keep the secret, Defne, you can't fail me.

She left the office leaving him alone, the memory of his dirty desires in my ears. He went to his life of luxuries and lies, and I stayed here, trying to understand that I was now the assistant in charge of taking the most powerful man in Turkey to a forbidden paradise from which he would not emerge unscathed.

But they say that the forbidden is what attracts the most and I was already falling into the abyss of Adem Sahenk without thinking about the consequences.

POV DEFNEAt this very moment, my greatest battle was against my own body.I was standing in front of the huge window of my new apartment. Everything here was too perfect, luxurious, and unreal. I had a black credit card in my purse and the keys to my new life in my hands, yet I felt more imprisoned than ever.My ribs were still stitching with pain from Berat's blows, as a constant reminder that, until just twenty-four hours ago, my life was full of debt and abuse.Suddenly, the sound of the electronic lock broke the silence. My heart started beating so fast that I thought it would jump out of my chest. I knew it was him.I didn't need to look to know that the man had bought me, the man who had saved me, and the one who was now coming to claim his share of the bargain.Adem Sahenk did not announce his arrival. I heard his footsteps against the marble, like the walk of a beast that does not ask permission to take its prey. I closed my eyes, trying to hide my nervousness, but when I fe

POV ADEMIn my world, weakness is paid for with life or with empire.I adjusted my gold cufflinks in front of my office mirror, staring at the man Istanbul feared: Adem Sahenk, the impeccable CEO, the perfect heir, the man who fourteen years ago agreed to chain himself to Enise Aydinlar only to inherit my father's company. Fourteen years of a marriage that is only a paper contract and heartbreak. But today my mind wasn't on business, it was in the next room.Through the glass, I saw Defne. She looked so small and fragile, trying to hide with makeup the blows that this wretch Berat had given her.I was full of fury about it. She didn't know that from the first moment I saw her go to work two weeks ago she had become the only woman who has made me feel anything like life. She is my ecstasy, even if I don't know it yet.My wife had interrupted my office and that only added to disgust. Seeing her look at Defne with that disgusting contempt made me want to end it all at once. But he couldn

Berat was sitting on the sofa, with a half-drunk bottle of whiskey and evil peeking into his eyes."Where's the money, Defne?""I haven't been paid the bonus yet, you know that I just started working in the company..." I tried to back off, looking for something to defend myself with because I knew what was coming, but he was faster. In less than a minute, he was already upon me. His hands that had once caressed my hand with love, now closed over my arms with brutal hatred."I don't give a shit if you haven't been paid! He screamed, shaking my body hard. You never know what a person can suffer in silence.I, of course, was no exception. As I arranged several folders on my desk, the simple rubbing of the fabric of my blouse against my ribs elicited a moan that I choked with a feigned cough.Berat had hit me harder this time; The discovery of his infidelity did not make him feel guilty, on the contrary, he unleashed all his anger on me before leaving me on the street.I looked at myself in the mirror I kept in the drawer. Life was very ironic. I was barely twenty-eight years old, and the sadness in my eyes sounded like that of a woman of seventy.Daughter of professional swindlers, heiress of millionaire debts, and the prisoner of a man who had sworn to love me before turning my life into a fucking hell."Defne"His voice broke the silence.
