Chapter 15 - School Project
I arrived at Derris' estate with my heart literally in my throat. After being let in by the butler, I slowly made my way to his room. With a pounding heart, I gulped and knocked on the door. No answer.
I knocked even louder but still, no answer. After knocking for the fifth time with no affirmation to come in, I decided to go ahead and open the door. I did and popped my head in to find no one in the room.
Great. Now I feel like an idiot for knocking on the door to an empty room.
I moved back and closed the door, only to find Derris standing right behind me.
"Ahh!" I yelped, jumping back in fright, hitting my elbow against the door pretty hard. "Geez, you scared me."
The expression on his face told me he could care less about me so I didn't bother telling him about my elbow.
