I looked up and saw the men heading our way.

Scott wrestled free from my grasp and was now staring curiously as the three huge bikers walked over to us with their beards, tattoos and leather jackets exuding and aura of toughness and danger.

“Mia? Who are those men?” Scott asked me but I was frozen, barely registering his words.

As they stopped in front of us, I quickly stepped closer to Scott, positioning myself slightly in front of him. If anything happened, I wanted to shield him. They would have to get me first.

But Scott wasn’t having it. He pushed me behind him and rose his chin at them.

I admired his bravery but he was a good foot shorter than the shortest of them and he was significantly smaller even with his muscles.

“Do you have a problem?” Scott asked.

The entire time I was praying to God nothing would start.

The largest and the leader turned to look at me. Sal, I would recognise those beady eyes anywhere.

“Just saying hi to an old friend.” He spoke. “Hey Mia.”
