“Morning!” Debby waved at me as soon as I came out of the house with my backpack slung over my shoulders.
“Oh? Looks like you’ve made a new friend!” Aunt Kathy looked towards Debby with a smile as she came out behind me. “I’m glad you two are getting along.”
“All thanks to you, Kathy!” Debby winked at my aunt before slinging an arm around my shoulder. “Would you like to walk to school with me?”
“Of course!” I agreed instantly. “I would love that!”
“Great!” Aunt Kathy clapped her hands together in excitement. “I’ll buy you a bike on my way home from office today. I think the two of you going to school together is better than this old lady dropping you off. What do you think?”
