After waiting for hours, which felt like a lifetime, the doctor finally called them. Nate felt hopeful as he saw the doctor smiling.
“Good news, the surgery was successful. Just watch her diet and give her the prescribed medications and she will be just fine,” Dr. Rich smiled. “She should wake up in a few minutes.”
Relief washed over Nate’s body. She was going to be okay. He didn’t have to spend the rest of his life alone. Amelia will be right there beside him, smiling like she always does.
After a few minutes, he went to see her. The doctor only allowed one visitor at a time, so he had to wait in the waiting room while her mom stayed by her side. He felt restless. When will she wake up?
Emily walked in after a few moments. Nate stood up abruptly and looked at her questioningly.
