LOGINThe small town of Pine Creek was supposed to be a safe haven, a quiet town to live out the rest of my high school days. I never thought I’d run into him. Aston Chadwick, the arrogant biker leader of The Shadow Ryders. Arrogant, untamable, wild. He is temptation and lust wrapped in pure leather; so seductive, he is the secret fantasy of every girl in Pine Creek and he knows it. I was just the new girl, sassy and naïve. He could have any girl in town, but I’ve become his latest obsession. The playboy prince of Pine Creek wants to dominate me. I am just as addicted to him. But even I cannot tame his wildness. He’s the only boy I shouldn’t have. He’ll drag me over the edge with him. Yet, our race has only just begun. Welcome to Pine Creek!

The town signpost read “WELCOME TO PINE CREEK, population 5000!” but it might as well have read “WELCOME TO YOUR PERSONAL HELL!” because I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would start my junior year in this hellhole. “Honey, get out of the car and help me unpack!” Dad yelled. He was crankier than usual but I guess I couldn’t blame him. One month ago, our life as we knew it ended when Mom died. Unable to deal with it, he packed us up for the move here. Far away from the life we used to know, away from all my friends. One minute, everything was perfect and the next? Boom, Pine Creek! The town might be beautiful and picturesque but it was still a far cry from my old life in NYC. It was so weird to go from living in a penthouse in NYC to this tiny town where everyone knows everyone else. I miss my friends, my old life, and the buzzing city. “MADISON ALLY GREEN! GET OUT OF THAT CAR NOW!” Dad’s voice boomed with anger. I got out of the car, reluctantly. “This is great. Just great! We might as well be living in the middle of fucking nowhere!” Dad spun around, disapproval written all over his face. “Hey, language” “Dad, I’m a city girl. Not some small-town hick.” “Yeah, well you better get used to it!” I wanted to scream. Last year, I was looking forward to junior year in NYC. Now, I’m about to become ‘the new girl’ in a small-town school. High school was hard enough already without the extra stress of starting over and trying to figure out the social hierarchy in a place like Pine Creek. "This sucks," I grumbled under my breath. Dad glared at me wordlessly. We started to unpack silently. Few minutes into unpacking, a girl who looked about my age came jogging along from the house next to ours. She was tall, raven-haired with stunning skin. She could pass for a Victoria Secret model. I’d seen her spying on us since we arrived. But now, she was wearing gym outfit with a white headset over her ears, ready for her morning run. She stopped next to the van. “Hi, welcome to the neighborhood. I’m Giselle Chadwick. I live right next door. It’s so nice to meet you,” she said, stretching out a hand toward me. Dad came rushing over when he heard her. He shook her hand before I could even move. “Hi, you are a Chadwick? I’m Paul Green. I’m going to be working for your father.” My interest piqued. Oh, so she was a member of the famous Chadwick family that I’ve heard so much about. They were apparently the richest family in town. The name was plastered on almost every building we drove past on our way in. “It’s so nice to meet you, Giselle. I’m Maddy Green,” I told her, happy to make a new friend. Maybe, Pine Creek might not be so bad after all. “Hi, Maddy. Wow, I was so happy when dad said the house next door had been sold. Nothing ever happens in Pine Creek. I thought it would be cool to get a new friend. So, just let me know if you need anything,” Giselle said. “Yeah, actually, I was hoping to meet someone who could show me around. I’m starting junior year on Monday. I don’t know anyone, it’s so scary!” Giselle’s smile stretched across her cheek, her white teeth shone brightly. “That is so cool cause I’m starting junior year too. We are gonna be besties. I can just tell. In fact, I’m going to a party tonight. Everyone’s gonna be there. Would you like to come? I’ll introduce you around so you don’t feel knocked off your feet come Monday.” I clutched my chest. “You would do that?” “Yeah, sure, it’s nothing.” Turning to my father, I asked: “Dad, can I go to this party?” He bobbed his head, just glad that I already made a friend and would probably stop complaining to him. “Sure honey. Hey, Giselle, take care of my baby girl, okay?” ***** LATER THAT NIGHT. Giselle parked her Mercedes S-class at a warehouse full of partying teenagers. The music was so loud, it shook the walls and rattled the floors. I heard it all the way from the main road. Neon lights flashed. Drunken teenagers darted around. Outside, cars and bikes littered the parking area. Some couples were making out on the hood of cars without a single care in the world. We climbed out of the car. Giselle was dressed in a simple black jean with a designer white top, carrying expensive Chanel purse. She looked both simple and exotic. Her hair flowed down her back. Next to her, I looked like a squid even though I was decked-out in expensive designers, too. As soon as we get out, two beautiful girls came running to meet us. “Giselle!!!” They threw their hands around her neck, ignoring me. Giselle noticed that and pulled me closer. “These are my friends, Lexi and Ashley. Girls, this is Maddy. She just moved next door.” The girls scrutinized me with sharp, beautiful eyes. They poked at my clothes and bag, checking their authenticity. Satisfied I was the real deal, they finally said: “Welcome to the jungle, bestie.” They hugged me, pulling me into the sisterhood. They began to bombard me with questions about NYC and my old school but halfway through the introductions, a group of biker boys pulling up distracted them. “Giselle, it’s him! Max is here! Oh my God!” Ashley cooed excitedly. The girls ran over to meet the boys, leaving me alone for a second. Who was Max and why was he driving all the girls crazy? I leaned on the car, waiting for them. Just as I bent low to fix my shoe laces, I heard the loud roar of a new bike arriving to the warehouse. It sped fast, hard, stirring dust in the air. It drove straight toward me at full speed. I screamed at the top of my voice and froze, paralyzed. I was so sure it would hit me. My body slackened, accepting my fate. But instead of hitting me, the Harley screeched to a stop right under my nose, the front tires nearly touching my knees. Smoke from sharp braking filled the air. The throttle revved, sending muddy sand into the air. I coughed hard, rubbing my eyes. When I opened them, I saw the rider emerging from the smoke and sand with an unbelievably crazy aura. He was a tall figure all decked out in a black helmet, black leather jacket, gloves and steel-enforced boots. His arms, chest and neck were covered with tattoos. In fact, every body part visible to my eyes was heavily inked. My heartbeat accelerated as he pulled off his helmet, revealing himself. My jaws almost dropped. I’d never seen such a handsome specimen before. His long, dark hair was tousled from wearing the helmet. He shook it off, vainly, tucking strands behind his ears. His cheekbones were sharp; his jaws tightly set. His upper body looked entirely sculpted like a Greek Adonis. It was hard to estimate his age but he couldn’t be more than eighteen. I froze when his blazing gray eyes locked onto mine, lazily. “Baby girl, if you’re trying to kill yourself, there are prettier ways to die,” he said in an amused voice. He reeked of arrogance. That over-confidence that came from knowing that he was hot. Okay, I said it: he is unbelievably hot. The authority in his voice knocked me off-balance. His expression relaxed as he continued to observe me. I felt his eyes taking me in; his gaze was so intense, it made me extremely nervous. His lips were moving but I couldn’t hear a word he’s saying. I just stared at those perfectly-shaped lips, imagining them on mine. His rough exterior was attractive. The things those veiny hands could do to me…. He snapped his fingers in the air, drawing my attention back to reality. “Are you deaf? Can you speak?” he questioned arrogantly. Okay, now, his attitude pissed me off. He almost hit me. The least he could do was apologize. “You nearly killed me!” I barked at him, regaining my confidence. Bad boys like him didn’t scare me. They never do. So, what was it about him? I was confused by the wave of emotions traveling inside me now. I despised his arrogance but I couldn’t help feeling drawn to him. “Princess, if I wanted you dead, you’d be dead.” He leaned in closer, his cologne teasing my nostrils. “You know why? I don’t miss!” That proximity threw me in more confusion. I opened my mouth to rebuff him but only air comes out. Something about him paralyzed me. I couldn't think straight; I couldn't even breathe right. He crawled into my heart, carved out a space and took possession of every inch of my body. I tried to fight him, to reject this sudden attraction. Next thing I know, Giselle came running up to us with her friends. “Aston, leave her alone!” She turned to me: “Please, forgive my brother. He likes to show off!” The information washed over me slowly. Her brother? Just my luck….my new neighbor is an arrogant, hot, biker jerk!Maddy's POVFIVE YEARS LATER “Jayden, watch your sister!!” I screamed from the kitchen. Jayden, spry and tall for his age, screeched to a stop. At six years old, the boy was surprisingly smart, kind, helpful and sweet. It'd been six years since everything happened. Six years since Lala disappeared. We didn't hear from her again. We hired a private detective to pick up on her trail. Nothing so far. Sometimes, Jayden wondered about his mother. He'd ask questions about her and we'd try as much as possible to keep her memory alive just in case she decided to come back. “Mom, Lily's biting her nails again!” Jayden yelled. My three-year-old daughter, Lily, was a sweet angel. A perfect mixture of me and my husband, Aston. Sometimes, I couldn't believe what my life had become. This life was not what I envisioned for myself but here we are: we lived in a brand new house Aston personally supervised its construction.I worked for Aston now, running some of the businesses. Pine Creek,
Aston's POVMy heart was cracking into a million pieces. I kept my eyes on Jayden. My boy. My beautiful boy. How could this be? He had my eyes. He had my lips. My mannerisms…..Wait a second. “Duncan,” I whispered That name…that cursed name. It came out of my mouth with bile. “He's Duncan's, isn't he?” I asked. Lala didn't bother lying. “What was I supposed to do? He didn't want anything to do with me when I got pregnant! He just left. He didn't even care about his boy! I was all alone. I was all alone!” Lala started to cry. I shook my head. Jayden called mama, reaching for her. She turned away from him, facing me. “Aston, I didn't mean to lie to you. I swear, I just….didn't know what else to do!” “You should've told me the truth exactly as you said it now. I'm not a monster. I would've helped you if I knew the truth. Duncan's a coward but I'm not. I would've helped you. Instead, you lied to me. You got my hopes high for no reason and shattered them!”“I don't know what I was
Maddy's POV Max was in the kitchen whipping up some orange juice when I stepped in. He was shirtlessz sweat beads falling all over his body. “Hey, finally awake. You must've been asleep ten hours. You deserve it after what happened!” I yawned, tiredly. “Water. I need some water and food!” He poured a drink for me. I downed it immediately and requested for more. “Aston's been calling. He wants to talk to you!”“Why? He can talk to his baby mama!” I sniped. Max merely smiled. “You must understand why he was reluctant to press charges right? Jayden needs his mother!”“And I need life to go back to what it used to be before she barged in here! She's making things difficult for me. I dont think you understand what hell she's created for me these past few weeks. I'm afraid to sleep in my own house. She's gonna keep escalating until she does something she can't take back!” Lala did not know how to stop. She went after everything she wanted with a shocking verve. “Hmm, I feel you but
Maddy's POV Giselle rushed into the lobby. Max followed closely behind.“What the fuck happened?” Giselle asked..Before I could even respond, Ian stalked out of the ER. He looked deeply displeased. He had his eyes on me as he was marching to us. I stood up. “Ian, What's wrong with him?” He pulled the blue gloves off his hand. “I don't mean to interrogate your sex life but why the fuck would you give him such a high dose of GHB?” I backed away. “What?” “Did you want to kill him? Cause congratulations you were almost successful!” He snapped at me. He was not usually this tasty, but something about the case made him mad. Giselle was confused. “Was it a mistake or some kind of kink?” I glanced at Lala who had suddenly shrunk herself. “Seriously? Seriously, bitch? You gave him GHB??” I yelled at her. They all turned to her. Giselle's anger swelled up. “Are you fucking kidding me? Are you trying to kill my brother?” Lala backed away. “Sorry, I'm so sorry. I just wanted to…”“W
~ Aston’s POV~ I tracked Maddy’s phone to the trailer park, my heart racing furiously as I pulled up. She was no longer answering my calls. I was worried something had gone horribly wrong. I could feel it. I could sense it. As soon as I got the park, I switched off the bike and started to run.
Maddy’s POV “You are getting married?” Julie asked, her voice reeked of disbelief. I stared at the couple in shock too. Wasn’t it just a few weeks ago that Aaron made me believe he could rescue me from Aston? Wasn’t it just a few weeks ago that Ian was stringing Giselle along? None of it had been
Aston’s POVWhile I was in my room in the Williams’ house seething and just waiting for dawn to return to Pine Creek, a knock came on the door.I ignored it.“Aston, come on, open up. I know you are in there. I know you can hear me!”Irritation surged inside me immediately. I marched over to the do
Maddy’s POV The next day, Giselle threw a massive party. I heard the music in the room where I sat stubbornly refusing to go just so I could avoid Aston. My phone kept getting blown up with messages from Giselle and Cody inviting me until I finally decided I would not run from Aston. By the t
