**MELENA**

I paced back and forth along the hallway, eagerly waiting for my parents to come in.

When I heard them outside at the front door, I ran to sit at the fourth step of the stairs, pretending to read a book I'd gotten from Dad on my twelfth birthday, a month ago.

I looked up from the book as if I'd been interrupted in my reading as Dad entered the house.

Dad doesn't look at me as he does.

He headed quickly into the kitchen with the wood he had chopped for supper, but Mom, following behind him, glanced at me, and I could see that she was crying.

"Mom," I stood up, stopping her before she could disappear into the kitchen like Dad.

She stopped, but she didn't turn to look at me, and I noticed her hands holding the basket of string beans, shaking.

Before I could ask her about the letter, she interrupted me.

"We have a visitor coming to join us for supper; please dress in a red dress," she says swiftly before dashing into the kitchen as Dad.

"Visitor," I repeated as I watched her.

Could the letter be about that certain visitor joining us for supper?

I was now looking forward to supper and meeting that visitor whose letter had troubled both my parents.

As I was about to return upstairs, Dad exited the kitchen. He sped past me, holding his head straight and out of the house. The door slammed shut behind him, and I strangely feel that he's been ignoring me ever since he received that letter.

*******

It was almost time to go downstairs for supper.

I wasn't wearing the red dress my mom had told me to wear; instead, I chose to wear my favourite colour, blue. I was tired of being forced to wear red every time we went to a pack gathering, which has now caused me to hate the colour red.

I'm checking my reflection within the mirror before going downstairs when I hear a strange, low, and husky male voice say, "Wear another colour dress."

Frighteningly, I turned away from the mirror towards the voice, and I was startled to see it was Aaron Silver. The alpha of the Moon Pack I and my parents were a part of. He leaned against the open door of my bedroom.

Alpha Aaron wore a white t-shirt, black pants, and black boots. He is nineteen years old and looks as if he lives within the gym. He's known for being an extremely skilful fighter on the battlefield and had golden blonde hair and eyes as green as emeralds.

He stood straight, leaning off the door as he'd noticed me, and flashed a friendly smile, showing his perfectly pearly white teeth.

"Good afternoon, Alpha Silver," I greeted him, extremely surprised at his presence at my bedroom door, and then it occurred to me that he was the visitor my parents were expecting at supper.

Only he could have such a great effect on anyone here. Everyone within the pack was terrified of him, for he wasn't one to mess around, and often he could be cruel.

At a pack meeting, I once saw him pull out one of his men's tongues for lying to him.

Still, I found it strange that he was at my home and in my bedroom. He never visits anyone's home, I heard. If anyone had any issues with the pack, they had to go to him instead.

While staring at me, he strides into my room, and my heart begins to race. It raced faster when he stopped very close in front of me.

“Red suits you better," he says, peering down into my eyes.

My white hair that was so long it reached down to the floor, a strand fell out from the high spun, I've styled it, and into my face. As Alpha Aaron's about to move it out of my face. I drew back quickly before he could touch me.

"If you're looking for the bathroom. It's next door," I said, very afraid of him, also believing it was the reason he was upstairs.

He smiles at me, giving me a terrible feeling inside me that I wasn't safe alone in my bedroom with him.

I began to quickly leave the room for where my parents were.

As I was doing so, he held me by the hand, stopping me.

I turned to look at him frightfully. "You're not going anywhere, pretty little wolf," he said with a grim face, which terrified me even more.

"But I must go downstairs."

"We," I corrected myself.

"My parents are waiting for us to have supper." I wanted him to let me go.

"I didn't come for dinner, pretty little wolf; I came for you," he said in a very low voice, and as he does, I see his eyes trailing down from me, stopping between my legs.

My eyes widened at his remark, and my stomach felt like it dropped, now knowing why my parents were so petrified when they read the letter.

  • The Beautiful Wolf   Chapter 133: Not Feeling Well

The white wolf I once dreamed of was blocking me in a cave while I was in the hospital. I had dreamed about her again. This time, we were both in the woods, and she was chasing me. I fell over a piece of a branch; she caught up with me, and as she was about to leap onto me, she growled. I woke up.I was catching my breath as if I were running from that white wolf in the woods. My body felt exhausted, and I was also hot and sweaty. For the entire morning, I lay in bed feeling too weak to get out.It was a relief when Lovely called me to say she was coming over with breakfast. I was hungry and didn't have the energy to prepare breakfast on my own.I took my time out of bed and took a shower. The cold water running over me cools down my hot body, bringing it back to its regular temperature, and I find myself feeling better. When Lovely came, I was on my verandah waiting for her. She was attired in her maid's outfit.Once I saw her through the bars of the gate, I opened it to let her in.

  • The Beautiful Wolf   Chapter 132: It's Better for Me to Leave

Knowing that I wasn't going to stay off my feet, Lovely found an old cane that the former alpha no longer wanted.I used it to visit him in his room upon hearing that he had come back home.He had come two hours later, after I had come back to the mansion."I heard you shouldn't be walking," he says when I enter his room, right before smiling. He was lying on his back on his bed.He looked a little sick, but not as bad as when Alpha Bolin was missing, which means that he was getting back to his healthier self."Look, I have a cane like you," I say just to make him laugh. That was what I wanted him to see on his face: happiness, not worry about me now.I pulled a chair and sat next to his bed."What had happened to your feet?" he asked, concerned. At that moment, I wish I hadn't come to his room. I only came to see if he was fine, not to make him troubled about me now."I'm fine. I'm strong." I'm trying to dodge his question."We both should be happy that Alpha Bolin is safe and alive,

  • The Beautiful Wolf   Chapter 131:The Reason Why Alpha Bolin Rejected Me

I rose to find myself lying on a towel next to a hearth alive with fire.I wasn't dead, but who had saved me from the creek? I was still in my clothes. It was almost dry from the warmth of the fire that I realized I had been here for a good while.I looked around the unfamiliar place. Its walls are dark brown wood, and the inside is illuminated by the flickering orange-yellow flames of the fire. There was a cozy brown sofa before me. Portraits were hung against the walls with images I was unable to make out.My gaze goes to the glass windows, and I see only trees, as if I never left the woods. It swivels towards the door when I hear it open. I rose to my feet, waiting to see the wolf who had rescued me, feeling no form of fear as I do.When I was able to see who it was, my eyes widened."Alpha Bolin," I say, surprisingly.Happy that he was alive, I ran to hug him without thinking. I was glad the woods he had in his hand for the fire stopped me from getting closer to him.He just sto

  • The Beautiful Wolf   Chapter 130: Searching for the Alpha

I don't even know why I thought I could find Alpha Bolin. There were plenty of skillful wolves out there searching for him and Betta Depp, the second dexterous wolf of the pack, with Alpha Bolin being the first. They haven't found him yet, so how could I, being wolf-less, do so?I sat down on the bus stop concrete seat with a small metal roof built over me to shelter those waiting for a vehicle from the rain and the hot sun, not knowing where to start."Have you heard that Alpha Bolin is kidnapped?" a she-wolf asks another female. They were both walking towards the bus stop. They stood before me, waiting for a ride as well."Do you think he would be dead?" the other asked, concerned.A pang of pain hit me at the thought of it, and I pray to the moon goddess that he isn't. His father will try to take his life for sure, and poor Addison will be a widow at a young age, and the pack might be in great trouble. Our pack's enemies might try to attack after finding out that their biggest thre

  • The Beautiful Wolf   Chapter 129: The Missing Alpha

"What do you mean my son is in trouble?" the former alpha lashed out at her, and I could hear how extremely worried he was in his voice."I went to look for him at the hotel where he was staying, for it was hard for him to stay here today, but when I went into his room. I saw blood. I've tried to call him, but he has left his phone.""I feel someone has come into the room and hurt him and taken him away.”"My son is strong, stronger than me; no one can hurt him," responded the former alpha."But they can do it if he were unconscious," says Addison."What do you mean?" asks the former alpha."I saw many alcohol bottles when I went inside, even a shattered one that I had to avoid stepping on to avoid hurting myself.""You're lying. My son never drinks," the former alpha disagrees."It's true," Addison cried."I know of many evil Lunas who seduce their alpha mate and kill them. "You are one of them, and you may use that to be the only ruler of this pack."Addison fell to her knees, weepi

  • The Beautiful Wolf   Chapter 128: How did the Late Luna Die?

'I know you would not want me to feel it was me who made you die, but I can't. Neither our only child, who also believes that he killed you for being wolfless, kept repeating within my mind as I was away from the garden. But the comment that stuck with me the most was about Alpha Bolin believing he killed his mother for being without a wolf.Still, I didn't understand what the former Alpha said. How could he and his son kill the late Luna?I was so eager to know that I could seem to focus in class."What's on your mind?" Professor Hector asked."From the start of class, you haven't been paying attention?"Once more, I apologized and assured him that I would focus this time."We'll continue tomorrow," he says, packing up his things and putting them into his briefcase."No, I promise I will," I begged him."It's okay," he says with a smile."Today isn't a good time for me either. I was hoping my lesson for you today would be put off, knowing it was going to be a painful day within this
