Chapter Forty Three.
"Exactly, how do we get out now Kerik?" Mona asked. "You said we had it under control." She continued, reminding me of the escape I'd promised them.
"Yes. Of course." I prepared to start explaining all the crazy plans that I'd thought up earlier, hoping I was right about the idea, until I became rudely interrupted by a loud but quick force on the gates and the next thing I knew, I was already outside the gates. Mona and Lily behind me.
"Whoa! What just happened?" Mona asked. I saw them again after so long. Both wearing a long black dresses like it was a funeral night, with green big beads round their necks. Just as if my instinct spoke, I found myself in the sight of him. Fortem wasn't with me, so I wondered how I could even still manage to magically transport myself. But all that didn't mattered. The atmosphere that night emitted a strange kind of feeling that left you in the middle with the feeling of terror, excitement and sadness. It was so difficult to explain, but all I knew was that it wasn't a pleasant feeling. Darkness crept out as I peeped through out the window. Not quite the hot dark of embers, but a soft,hopeful dark. "So what news have you bring me? Tell me it's good." I queried Mona as we had tea over on the dining table. Ever since those mad keepers left the palace with their soldiers, they'd been bad news upon bad news. First, I realized I could now save the septic, though I wondered if I could have always cured them from the start or maybe I only could because of the devil's disappearance. Or maybe even because of the fact that I'd received Lilith's blessings, as of recent, we couldn't even tell whether the devil was permanently banished or dead, or was still somewhere hiding in the corners. But something told me he was till very much alive due to the fact that I still had vivid visions about another war with him. Then, I realized that we were already running low on supplies and the villagers would soon start staving. So many problem were arising in the fickle of time."Well, the Northern villagers refused to supply us grains.""What! We need those grains. R

"Not yet, your majesty." She scrutinized, as she plastered a half-smile at me. Maybe waiting to confirm whether I would flare up and finally either punch her right in the place that would hurt, or roar in anger and consume the souls of them all. I only returned a false smile to her as a reply. Not the obvious type that showed the tremendous effort in the making of the smile, but the kind that contoured the pretence in the smile. She wasn't supposed to see me getting upset because I wasn't upset with her at all. She wasn't supposed to feel a tiny percentage of my transferred rage."But, Kerik?" Mona called, and my heart nearly sank. She shot a piercing look at me and smiled with teary eyes. I almost bursted out into tears but quickly calmed myself and tried assuring my mind that it wasn't really my fault. I was fixing this. "You said you had a dream about how we could save Ragnila, and your sister as well. And Lavi. How... How do we save them exactly?"

"I'm sorry that I haven't been the best of a leader to you all." I sniffed before each words, before controlling myself to try and limit the tears from coming down my eyes. But as I tried more and more from stopping those eyes from watering further, the pool of tears proved to be stronger than all the power left in me.
