Chapter 21-Utterly Confused

Gong Yu whispered to Zhao Yi, and then Zhao Yi responded with a look of hesitation. And Gong Yu added something. Zhao Yi contemplated for seconds and nodded his head finally.

Director Zhao stood up, clapped his hands and called loudly at the crew, "Stop and come here for a moment."

Hearing the call, all the crew came up to Director Zhao, forming a circle with Zhao Yi in the center.

Sitting dismissively on the edge of the film set, Ding Sisi did not move at all. Instead, she lifted her right hand and examined the manicure she just had yesterday, as if she had heard nothing. With a haughty look, she threw a slanting glimpse at the crowd around Zhao Yi.

Zhao Yi raised his eyes to glance over the filming site to check whether all had gathered together. Unexpectedly, he found that Ding Sisi was still in the distance. Anger rose instantly in his heart. He withdrew his glance and coughed lightly.

Ding Sisi was totally elated in her heart, and a pompous look took on her face uncontrollably. She guessed that Gong Yu must have scruples about her status and background and fear of offending her, so he found Director Zhao to intercede for her in order to let her return to act. Gong Yu looked cold, but it was just for effect and pretending profundity. After all, by doing so, he could draw more attention.

Now she decided to keep up appearance and waited for Director Zhao to beg her personally. "I'd like to see if Director Zhao dares to embarrass me when filming in the future."

Ding Sisi was thinking elatedly whether she would immediately accept or pretend to be reluctant when Director Zhao came to plead with her.

Director Zhao glanced around and spoke up, "Today, we'll adjust the sequence--to shoot the 48th scene. Please got prepared as quickly as possible. Let's start filming after one hour."

The photographer had been working just now, not noticing that Ding Sisi had been in the filming site, so he said hesitantly, "Isn't the 48th scene the moment of parting between Mu Lengyu and Zhen Ai? But now only the leading actor Gong Yu is here, while the leading actress Ding Sisi is not. Without the leading actress, how to film it?"

After hearing these words, Ding Sisi in the distance was more convinced of her guess. A charming smile appeared in the corners of her mouth and exultation in her eyes. Ding Sisi casually ruffled her large wavy hair and fiddled with her creaseless skirt.

She knew that they had no choice but to beg her to return in the end. Who said the earth going to revolve without her? This film could not continue without her. She was the biggest shot in the film. Although it had the wonderful cast, Ding Sisi could throw other actors in the shade.

And the leading actor Gong Yu was in particular. Although he took off by his first film and won the Best New Artist by it, he developed tepidly in South Korea. In the entertainment industry where update and replacement were as quick as flowing water, the fame he had established had faded away with the wind.

Ding Sisi had intended to have a look about it, so she just came alone today. How regretted she was! If she had known that Gong Yu was so worldly and that she could stage a comeback so quickly, she would have asked more people to come--to see how Zhao Yi would bow to her to beg for her return to work.

Ding Sisi felt complacent in her heart. She took up her phone quickly and called her friends all in the moments.

Zhao Yi's voice sounded in the distance, "Where is Yun Muxi? Why doesn't she come?"

The assistant director Wang Hao answered, "Oh, Director, I saw Xiao Xi walk to the lounge just now."

Zhao Yi said to Xiao Zhang, a script supervisor, "Xiao Zhang, go and ask Xiao Xi to come here."

Xiao Zhang answered, "Ok, I'll go to get her." And then, he ran away quickly. Five minutes later, Xiao Zhang and Yun Muxi ran back.

Yun Muxi asked breathlessly, "Director Zhao, why do you send for me so hurriedly? What's the matter?"

Zhao Yi nodded and said, "Yes, we'll change to film the 48th scene. You go to do a makeup and get changed to support Gong Yu in this scene."

Yun Muxi felt utterly confused upon hearing it, and her mind went blank for a while before she reacted. She asked with some hesitation, "Director Zhao, Why should I do the makeup for the 48th scene? Shouldn't Ding Sisi do the makeup?" After finishing the words, Yun Muxi turned around to point at Ding Sisi in the distance who was also completely confused.

Zhao Yi's countenance fell. He took a glare at Ding Sisi and said to Yun Muxi, "Today, we'll mainly take Gong Yu's shots. You're familiar with this character-Zhen Ai most. You go to cooperate with him."

Ding Sisi returned to herself and thought fast. "What does he mean? Doesn't he require her to come back? What on earth does he want? To ask a screenwriter to play? Is he joking? Is Director Zhao so furious with me that he grabs a woman to be the leading actress?"

But a thought flashed in Ding Sisi's mind. She calmed down with a sneer and said to herself, "Well, how dare you find a screenwriter to play! Let me see how you'll bring contempt on yourself. What a slap on your face! How well can a screenwriter play? You're bound to beg for me in the end!"

At the thought, Ding Sisi became calmer and sat on the chair more leisurely with her legs crossed elegantly, straightened her back, kept her chin up with a smile around her lips. She looked like a peacock in her pride--all but swaggered around the filming site.

Yun Muxi was still confused and did not come back to earth yet. She was too slow to react. She was about to ask for reasons when Gong Yu held her wrist and took her to the make-up room. Yun Muxi tottered behind and had to trot to barely catch up with Gong Yu.

Yun Muxi could not help teasing inwardly. "Couldn't I catch up with him for my short legs? What's the big deal to have long legs? Why does he walk so fast? Couldn't he let me figure things out first?"

Gong Yu did not stop until he reached the door of the make-up room. But he came to a halt so suddenly that Yun Muxi could not pause in time. Her head barged right into Gong Yu's back. She smelt a subtle gramineous scent from his solid figure. And then she felt dizzy immediately, not sure for her knocked head or for the special odor.

Gong Yu turned around, headed down and stared at Yun Muxi. He asked deeply, "Do you wish this film to be successful?"

Gong Yu's amber-colored eyes were deep and charming as if they had a certain magic. Yun Muxi felt dizzier as she looked at his eyes which also enchanted her.

Yun Muxi answered softly, "Of course. I wrote the script. Thus, I wish it successful the most."

Gong Yu said lightly, "So you should go to do the makeup, and then act it out from the bottom of your heart. Try your best to play."

Yun Muxi knitted her brows faintly and asked in wonder, "Why? I think I saw Ding Sisi here just now. She is the leading actress, isn't she?"

Gong Yu picked brows and said calmly, " Several days ago, you must have seen that Ding Sisi was not in a condition to act. Besides, she is so arrogant that she takes everything lightly. If she continues like that, the show will be ruined. So you can set an example for her and act out Zhen Ai based on your understanding. Maybe it can save this show anyway." After finishing, Gong Yu stared at Yun Muxi, with an undetectable cunning crossing his eyes.

Yun Muxi lowered her head and contemplated, paying no attention to Gong Yu's eyes. She did not fully understand why, and continued to say with her eyebrows knitted, "But I don't know how to act at all. You're kidding. I don't think it will work."

Gong Yu advised calmly, "That's Ok. You only need to follow my instructions. You're the screenwriter and fully know what the leading actress thinks. You just relax yourself and express it sincerely. No one expects that you can act well. So don't feel stressed. You merely help me to get through the scene. It can't be better if you can inspire Ding Sisi. And the director doesn't expect your performance as well. They will take my shots mainly. Well, don't hesitate. Have a try. Just do your best."

After saying that, Gong Yu left no chance for Yun Muxi to think it over and pushed her to a chair in front of the dresser in the make-up room. He whispered to the make-up artist Amy, and then walked to a small sofa behind. He sat down and thumbed through a magazine.

Amy looked Yun Muxi up and down, leaned on the dresser, and gazed at Yun Muxi's face. Amy seemed hesitant and turned to ask Gong Yu, "Gong Yu, are you sure to do it? I'm not sure myself."

Gong Yu lifted up his eyes and responded firmly, "Feel free to have a try!"

Yun Muxi sat on the chair, still confused. Something flashed in her mind. She sensed something was wrong, but could not figure it out for the moment.

While Yun Muxi was pondering, the make-up artist took off Yun Muxi's big black-framed glasses and lifted her chin. At the moment, the make-up artist felt her heart touched, for Yun Muxi's big black clear eyes were extremely amazing.

Amy thought, Yun Muxi seemed rather plain at usual times, but she had a pair of charming and beautiful eyes after taking off the glasses.

Amy looked carefully at Yun Muxi's features again--the close range made her observe more clearly and attentively. She found that Yun Muxi had exquisite facial features with every detail adorning perfectly her refined face. In other words, each of her facial features was extremely beautiful and flawless. Their combination was more perfect and splendid.

As a make-up artist, Amy had seen numerous beautiful girls. Especially in the entertainment circle, the pretty girls were beyond count. But there was seldom girls like Yun Muxi who could astound her.

While Amy was lost in thought, her phone beside rang, signaling a message. Amy took a look at the phone, and instantly she frowned with a darkening look.
