Chapter 5 Will James Agree To Marry Victoria?

Emmanuel Johnson was looking forward to seeing his son. He was anxious since he was not sure if he would agree to marry Victoria Lewis. He hoped that James would listen to his mother.

He called his wife to remind her about tomorrow’s meeting with James. “My beautiful wife, please don’t forget to call James about tomorrow’s meeting.”

Rosemary replied, “hubby, I’ve already told him about the meeting, my work is done now. It is up to you to convince him. Don’t forget that you said you would not force him, and you will cancel this contract should he refuse.”

Emmanuel Johnson was beaming and said, “I love you so much my dearest wife, thanks for your hard work, see you later.” Then he hung up.

James’s flight arrived on time, he attracted so much attention, he was very handsome, arrogant and he was tall. His Assistant, Edwin Davidson, went to the airport to fetch him.

When he saw his boss, he went to him and took his boss’s luggage. There were reporters waiting for him. They heard that the Johnson Group cooperated with the Lewis Group. James was unapproachable.

They failed to get any information from him. He was aware of the cooperation, his father gave him heads up. His father didn’t tell him in detail, he promised to tell him when he was back.

Edwin Davidson drove the car straight to his apartment. He didn’t live in the mansion anymore. He told his mother that he needed his freedom. His mother bought this apartment for him. It had three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a study room and a kitchen. It was beautifully furnished.

As soon as he entered his apartment, he called his girlfriend, Serene Logan, to come over. He missed her so much. However, Serene Logan refused to come, indicating that she had other commitments.

James was so disappointed, he wanted to see her. In fact, Serene was angry with James because he had not given her an engagement ring. Most of her friends had been engaged and some were already married.

She was going to give him an ultimatum to propose to her. James decided to visit his parents. His mother was so excited to see him. She immediately called her husband and asked him to come back.

She advised her husband to discuss the marriage issue with James today. Her husband agreed and he left the office and went home.

In the sitting room, Rosemary Johnson was talking to her son, James Johnson. “James how is Serene Logan?” asked his mother, smiling.

“She is throwing tantrums mom. I asked her to visit me. She said she had other commitments. She was aware that I'd be back today, but she refused to see me. I know that she wants me to commit to her, I’m waiting for a go head from you and dad,” said James with a sad face.

His mother’s heart became sore, she didn’t know how to tell him about his father’s proposal. “Son, what do you like about Serene Logan?” asked his mother. “She is beautiful and smart Mom, and she makes me happy.” said James, smiling.

At that time, his father opened the door, his wife took his coat and his briefcase and gave it to their butler.

Emmanuel greeted his son and asked him about his business trip. James briefed his father, and he asked his father about his day. He replied that it was alright. Then the butler told them that dinner was ready in the dining room.

They went to eat; her mother was so happy to have her two handsome men with her. Rosemary was proud of her son; he was smart. He became the CEO of the Johnson Group at the age of twenty.

He took the company to new heights. He was cold and ruthless in the business, but he was kind to his family and friends.

After dinner, Emmanuel asked his wife and son to follow him to his study. Emmanuel looked at his son with a smile and said, “Son, I understand that you love Serene Logan very much and you want to marry her.

However, I don’t think that Serene is compatible with you. Your mother and I decided to allow you to marry Serene Logan after two years.”

James was so shocked, he looked at his mother and said, “dad, I don’t understand, please explain to me clearly.” His father replied, “we’ve found you a wife. Then you will marry her for two years.

Then I will allow you to marry Serene Logan. During this period there will be no scandal caused by Serene Logan. She is not allowed to touch your wife.

After two years, I will personally send your engagement invitations to everyone, and your mom will arrange the grand engagement banquet.” said his father.

James was so upset; he left his parents and went to his room and banged the door. How could his parents be so cruel to him? He had done everything to make them happy. He was so sad.

His parents promised not to interfere in his love life, but they were lying to him. He took his phone and called Serene again, but her phone was switched off. Then he called her best friend Macy Michael.

The call was connected. “Hello, this is Macy.” “Hello Macy, it's James. I’m looking for Serene. Have you seen her?” Macy replied, “she is here but she doesn’t want to speak to you, bye,” Macy hung up. James was so angry; he smashed his phone on the floor.

He went out of his room and found his parents by his door. “Dad, I agree, please call the lady to meet me at Home Affairs tomorrow morning at 9:30 to register our marriage.

May I have her details to avoid marrying the wrong person,” said James, and went back to his room. His parents couldn’t believe their ears, they went to their son’s room to give him a blessing to marry Serene Logan. His father came back to his senses and went back to his study room to take the file with Victoria’s details.

He knocked into his son’s room and gave him the file. Emmanuel called Patrick to let him know that his son agreed, and he would meet Victoria tomorrow morning at 9:30 at Home Affairs. Patrick promised Emmanuel that he would tell Victoria, then he hung up.
