JAKE’S POV

“There are many cell rooms in this building. I can’t tell which exactly the Alpha is being held in.” Lilith said.

“We would have to split up.” I said, and she nodded her agreement.

“Shouldn’t the security system be able to detect that you didn’t come in alone?” Logan questioned.

“That won’t be a problem. My mother believes I’m turning you both in.” she said and my gaze snapped to Logan. “That’s the only way this could work,” she explained.

“I understand,” Logan said, and I couldn’t help but wonder if he was letting his feelings cloud his judgement.

“Jake and I would go east. You’ll go west.”

“Are you sure?” Logan questioned, and she nodded. He closed the distance between them, his hand cupped her face, then he kissed her. I looked away, giving them a small moment of privacy. “See you soon.” With that, he disappeared into thin air.

“Let’s get going.”

“One more thing, if I discover this is in any way a trap—”

“I know. You’d kill me. I got that already.”

“Good.”
