After Rachel and I had talked for hours, we were starving and ordered take out. Then I took her to the park and she and I went for a run. It was just like old times, the two of us being free and running through the woods. I felt so much better afterwards… I didn’t even know how to put into words how much her being here was helping me already.

Tomorrow she told me she would go with me to look for a car. I’d saved enough money for a down payment. And there wasn’t any reason for me to not get one. It would make things much easier. And I was sure Jenny was getting tired of driving me places even if she would never admit it.

While I was at work that night I kept replaying something over and over in my head that Rachel had said that day when we were discussing Alan.

“If you ask me he’s holding something back. There’s something going on that you don’t know about … something that’s keeping him from committing to you.”
