CHAPTER TWO

Mireya’s POV

Immediately I dropped the bombshell, I saw my husband’s face pale with fear as if he couldn’t believe his secret had been exposed. That reaction alone was enough to seal my suspicions.

The message was really true.

“Mireya, what are you saying? Of course, that’s not true,” Serena said after finally finding her voice, and I was tempted to rip her mouth apart.

I had trusted her with everything. We had risked our lives to save each other whenever rogues attacked us in the wild, so I never imagined she would be the one to betray me.

“Really? Then can you explain this?”

I shoved my phone into their faces as I played the video for them before swiping through the pictures. I watched their faces pale with every slide, and that was all the confirmation I needed. But they recovered quickly.

“Mireya, let me explain,” Serena said, and my eyes darkened with anger.

“You want to explain?” I blurted, my voice hardening as I walked toward her in calculated steps, but Corvin immediately blocked my path.

“I know we are wrong, but if you want to take it out on someone, then hit me,” he breathed while looking at me.

Before he could say another word, I slapped him hard.

He gasped, disbelief evident on his face, and I scoffed bitterly.

“What? Did you think I wouldn’t do it?” I roared, tears streaming down my face as I bit my lip hard, trying to suppress my emotions.

They were the ones who betrayed me. I refused to look weak before them. I would show them I wasn’t someone they could bully so easily.

“Have you lost your mind, Mireya?” Corvin screamed as he held his cheek, and Serena immediately rushed to check his face.

The sight alone nearly made me pass out. Seeing them act so close made me realize they had always shared an unusual bond, but I had foolishly convinced myself they were nothing more than friends.

The only thing they supposedly hadn’t done was kiss or sleep together behind my back.

But after that video, I realized they had crossed every possible line.

“Yes, I have lost my mind. Who wouldn’t in this situation?” I snapped before looking away from Corvin because even my wolf felt disgusted looking at him. “Serena, can you tell me why you did this? Why did you have an affair with my husband?”

“Mireya, calm down… I did it for you,” Serena said.

I almost burst into laughter, but I didn’t even have the strength for it.

Did it for me? Since when was sleeping with someone’s husband considered an act of friendship?

“Really? Then how exactly is this helping me?” I screamed.

“I’m carrying his child because you can’t. Aren’t you always worried about it?” Serena rasped, and my entire body went rigid. “Shouldn’t you be happy that I helped you?” she added, but I was too stunned to even speak.

Carrying his child because I couldn’t? What was that supposed to mean? Before I could recover from the shock, whispers suddenly started spreading around me.

“How could she be bold enough to cause a scene when her friend is helping her?”

“Isn’t she the barren one who hasn’t conceived for years?”

“She’s not even his fated mate, so what’s wrong if he decided to use her best friend as his breeder?”

The whispers echoed around me, and my vision blurred because I couldn’t believe everyone in that hall had decided to side with my cheating husband and my so-called best friend.

How was I suddenly the one at fault? And how could they call me barren when doctors had repeatedly confirmed nothing was wrong with me?

“I… this is… not right,” I managed to whisper as I struggled to stay sane. I was one step away from losing my mind completely.

“Mireya, leave now, and we can discuss this at home,” Corvin said coldly, and I scoffed.

“The nerve of that cheating bastard!” Ava, my wolf, cursed angrily inside me, and I knew she was even more furious with Corvin’s wolf for betraying her too.

“You want me to leave?” I repeated as I looked around and saw everyone glaring at me in displeasure as though I had ruined their celebration.

“I promise, I didn’t mean anything bad,” Serena blurted, and my chest tightened painfully hearing those words. How could she even say that to me?

She slept with my husband, got pregnant for him, and hid everything from me until the very end. Those disgusting bastards!

“You didn’t mean anything bad?” I breathed with a stoic expression. “Then get rid of the baby.” Gasps immediately filled the hall, but I didn’t care.

“What? I can’t do that!” Serena exclaimed sharply.

“Didn’t you say you meant no harm? Then get rid of that forsaken child!” I panted as my vision blurred again and my body swayed dangerously, but I forced myself to remain standing. I couldn’t pass out now.

“Go home!” Corvin roared, and I gritted my teeth angrily as I met his gaze.

“And if I don’t?” I snapped. “You’re the one who cheated, so you have no right to tell me what to do.”

Then I turned to Serena. “What do you say?” I asked, but she immediately hid behind Corvin.

“That’s not going to happen, Mireya. I’m not getting rid of my first child because you can’t give me one,” Corvin said.

My heart dropped painfully into my stomach. He actually said that. Both my wolf and I felt shattered hearing him turn against us so openly.

Even though we weren’t fated mates, we had built a bond through the years, and he had never given me any reason to doubt him before this. But now…

“Really?” I breathed shakily as I decided to leave before my thoughts turned even darker, but Serena suddenly grabbed my hand.

“Don’t leave yet. We haven’t revealed the baby’s gender, and since you’ll be the godmother, you deserve to know,” she said with a cunning smile.

And at that moment, I realized my best friend wasn’t the person she pretended to be. She was a shameless bitch.

“Get your hands off me, bitch!” I screamed as I violently jerked Serena away from me. But the force made her stumble backward.

Panic flashed through me immediately, and I instinctively reached out because despite everything, she was still pregnant.

But Corvin got to her first and shoved me aside roughly in the process.

“Pah!”

A loud thud echoed throughout the hall.

Instead of Serena hitting the floor, I was the one pushed off the stage.

Pain exploded through my head the moment it slammed against the floor, and my vision blurred instantly.

But instead of people rushing to help me, everyone crowded around Serena instead.

I watched helplessly as my husband hurried out of the hall with Serena, saying she needed treatment, while I remained sprawled on the floor with blood dripping from my head.

“Help me,” I whispered weakly, loud enough for him to hear.

But Corvin ignored me completely and continued walking away.

My heart ached horribly as I watched him walk away hand in hand with Serena, and a tear slipped down my cheek.

“He’s gone,” my wolf whispered painfully as I stared at my mate’s disappearing figure.

Corvin had truly crossed the line.

I tried to explain, but Knox cut me off before I could say another word."Are you accusing my woman of infidelity?" he asked with a cold snort. His sharp gaze locked onto Elder Aiden, whose confident expression faltered for a brief moment. For the first time since the accusations began, uncertainty flashed across the elder's face."We... we only wanted to know who that man was," Elder Aiden replied hesitantly, his voice noticeably less firm than before."If all of you must know, then I won't hesitate to tell you," Knox declared, his voice echoing throughout the silent hall. "That so-called scoundrel was me."A collective gasp swept through the crowd. The whispers stopped almost instantly as everyone stared at him in stunned disbelief. Some council members exchanged confused glances, while others looked utterly speechless. A faint smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I slowly looked around the room, watching their expres

Confused murmurs swept across the engagement hall as countless pairs of eyes turned toward me. The whispers spread like wildfire, each one harsher than the last. Some of the guests began gossiping about seeing Corvin and me together earlier, quickly jumping to conclusions without knowing the truth. But they were wrong. Corvin had approached me earlier only to persuade me to go back to him and betray Knox. As if I would ever do something so foolish. After everything he had done, I would have been a complete fool to have anything to do with Corvin again. My heart pounded painfully against my chest as panic tightened around me, and I struggled to catch my breath while trying to make sense of the accusations surrounding me.I breathed heavily as I turned to look at Knox. CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVENSERENA'S POVIt's been a week since I ran away from the hospital after abandoning the baby. I've had only one thing on my mind ever since... revenge. And today is finally the day. I stood quietly at the corner of the grand hall, dressed in an usher's uniform, blending effortlessly with the other staff. Mireya's engagement ceremony was in full swing. The engagement had been announced shortly after the fire outbreak incident, and the news had spread throughout the pack. The mere thought of her celebrating while I was left to suffer made my blood boil. How dare she smile? How dare she dream of a happy future while my own life had fallen apart? My fingers curled into fists as I watched her from afar. Despite the elegant smile on her face, I noticed the subtle discomfort in her expression. She kept shifting her weight and forcing smiles at the guests. Good. It wouldn't be long now.The ceremony had only just begun, and the Alpha's assistant was person

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIXCORVIN'S POVImmediately after the news of the burning building,I couldn't stay out of it as my mind kept telling me who the culprit was. The thought refused to leave me alone, circling endlessly in my head no matter how hard I tried to push it aside. My jaw tightened, and I clenched my fists unconsciously as suspicion grew stronger with every passing second. The more I replayed everything that had happened, the clearer it became that this wasn't a random attack. Someone had planned it carefully, and deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling that I already knew who was behind it.I drove quickly toward the vacation house where Stephanie had been staying ever since the confrontation with my uncle. The engine roared as I pushed the car harder than necessary, my fingers tightening painfully around the steering wheel. My thoughts were in complete chaos, replaying the news of the fire over and over again until my chest felt unbearably heavy. The moment I

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVEKARL'S POVWe stared at each other, and instead of stopping, we continued kissing, forgetting all our worries in the world. Without realizing it, I started taking off my clothes while she removed her blouse, leaving herself in only her blue bra. I kissed her slowly from her lips down to her neck, then lower to her chest. I removed her bra completely, giving me the full view of her beautiful, perky breasts. Her nipples were so hard, standing proudly, almost screaming and begging to be sucked. Unable to resist, I claimed her breasts in my mouth one after the other, sucking them while my hands squeezed them gently, drawing endless moans from her lips. Every soft whimper and shaky breath only fueled my desire, yet neither of us cared about the possibility of getting caught. I waited for her to stop me, to remind me that my sister could arrive at any moment, but she didn't. Instead, she only breathed harder, her fingers slipping into my hair as her b

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FOURKARL'S POV“I've been working so hard. I've never truly smiled from the bottom of my heart since I was little, but the only woman in my life suddenly got sick. I finally managed to pay the doctor, and her treatment has already begun.” Nancy lowered her gaze, forcing a fragile smile that failed to hide the exhaustion in her eyes. Her fingers twisted nervously in her lap as though she was trying to keep herself from breaking apart. “I really wish everything goes according to plan. I don't want her to get sick ever again. I'm scared... that's why I've been looking so sad.”The last sentence came out almost as a whisper. Even though she smiled, I could see the pain hidden behind it. It was the kind of smile someone wore after crying for too long, one that barely held together before falling apart. Seeing her like that made my chest tighten unexpectedly. She had always looked calm and dependable, but at that moment she simply looked like a worried daug
