Luna's POV

My hands go to my head.

I'm breathless.

I stand here fidgeting and all of the words as they say come echoing back.

My skin is breaking with beads of sweat even when the weather isn't sunny.

Scammer.

This word rings hard in my head. Look at the kind of person I've been living with.

I shrug my shoulders.

Right now, I'm trying my hardest to breathe.

Their attitude at the hospital makes even more sense now.

So they wanted me only for the baby?

Jeeezzz!

I jump up with the little energy left in me, storming towards them when his so-called mom cuts in just as I'm about to grab the door.

"But what will she think? She might sue us for deceiving her?"

Exactly, what I had in mind.

"Who gives a fuck? Did we have any real, written agreement that I'll marry her?"

We had. Seems he has forgotten. A creepy smile forms on my lips. I've got something to hold him tight.

His laughter wades in. "Sue us over the fake marriage agreement we signed? Burst my brain!”

The smile on my lips disappears.

Celine joins in the laughter.

”You're a very wise man. For real?”  He must be nodding now.

“No wonder you kept the wedding private."

“And that was no formal certificate at all. The lawyer is my friend, a fake one with a fake stamp. So literally, there was no wedding.”

I'm wasted, totally drained of thoughts. All the ideas of revenge I had crumbles, one after the other.

Edward had planned this for long and sadly I didn't notice.

But the worst is he still has the audacity to do this to me after all the kindness I gave him.

Not even talking about the money. Running into millions of dollars which I've been dashing him to invest in his stocks.

Maybe that too is a lie. He's no investor but a goddamn scammer.

I don't know how long I squat here, sobbing. All of what they say next happens to pass through my now-deaf ears. A mechanism employed by my body to protect me from further shock.

I want to hit my head on the wall or even stab myself. These people used me for a baby.

A whole celebrity event planner like me. What do I tell my followers now? Everyone knew we were going to Wed this year.

Oh God!

When I manage to find the strength to rise, thirty minutes is gone.

I fumble as I rise. I have to grab the wall for support.

I want to expose these two to the media, run a live and let the world see their faces but a voice speaks at the back of my head.

“They could kill you and run away.”

Something else comes in.

What if I report them to the police? Yes, they are culprits but if the charges aren't backed with strong evidence, they are getting released and that's even when the murder might occur.

What do I do now?

I rack my fingers through my hair, pacing round in confusion.

Before this idea wades in.

A cool, slow burn and ultimate revenge will be the best kind of disaster for them.

A two-in-one loaded.

That creepy smile of before finds its way into me again. For now, I need to pretend I don't know what's going on.

So I turn to the main entrance, knocking on the door.

“Open.” Edward says.

My heart is pumping to explosion, I fight to control.

As I walk in, Celine rises, eyes rolling around in suspicion. But still I stand, glaring at her with the seeming hospital feud. Not this.

My son is in her arms. I say nothing, just walk straight to her, taking him off his arms.

No word. No explanation. Edward stares, speechless before he sums up courage and growls.

“After breast feeding the baby, prepare me a light lunch. I'm quite hungry and sad. Maybe food from you will cheer me up.”

And I look at him, head slightly tilts, eyes narrowing.

He frowns. “Urgh? Why look at me like that?”

“Because you've gone crazy. You abandoned me in the hospital, made me return home alone and now you need my services?”

Both gawk, unable to speak.

"I won't be able to do anything in this house any more, for your information.”

I know how this will hurt me.

“Then who will…..”

I don't even let him finish, I cut him off.  “Either you do or a nanny will."

I've learnt a lot these few days. To all the food he had been cooking for me, what if he wanted to poison me, he'd easily do so.

Besides, I know he won't do any of those things again which is why I'm going for a nanny.

The attitude at the hospital till now speaks in volume.

Why stress myself over such a man?

They search my face, trying to take out any secret I might be hiding, trying to see if I know what they are planning but I'm still, playing cool eyes, hard to comprehend.

Just a slight anger which they will believe it's because of the hospital feud.

After a while, his eyes grow pale and he steps forward, probably to beg to know what I'm up to but Celine flashes him a lethal look.

He steps back, biting his lip. The dull face quickly switches back to it previous rage.

“If money is your problem in this house, I'll handle the cost of the wedding.” I slide in and  watch their tight faces break with glows. Their pupils dilate.

I knew.

Two motherfuckers.

It's a wedding they want, right? I smirk within me. They will see.

Flipping the relaxed off, I wear a serious face. “I wanna have some alone time with my baby.” My voice is flat. Barely saying this, I turn around and walk away.

I retire to my room. Set my baby on the bed, then pull out my phone.

I search through my contacts.

My sweet cousin, Pinkie Jane, comes to mind. A cop and a social media influencer. I believe she's the right person for this job or knows the right person for it.

She picks on my first ring.

"Hey, what's up baby girl.”  I tease. It's gonna be bad starting my call with a gloomy tone.

“Yes, pretty woman.” She replies with a chuckle. “This one you're calling me today, I hope all is well."

"I'm okay, sweetheart." I gulp.

"So what's up? Tell me, do you need a security service at your next event?"

I laugh. "Shouldn't that be the job of the celebrants?"

"Shhhh!"

I laugh louder. I laugh only on the surface but inside of me is praying for the perfect chance to report what I've heard to her.

"Have you forgotten those times you were so afraid of planning weddings and birthdays in gang-infested areas and I had to come protect you with my men."

I can only force myself to respond.

"Hmm.”

She giggles, not knowing what's going on here with me.

"So you need me again, I'm more than glad to help. It's been months."

"Hmmm." I sigh again, sadly this time making her pause.

How long am I going to pretend? I wonder.

"How's that husband of yours?" She asks.

Ever since he proposed a private marriage and wouldn't want my family and his to attend, Jane has disliked him all along. Respectfully though.

It's time to tell her this but the words won't just leave my mouth, maybe because she won't be able to keep it a secret and she's going to confront Edward and Celine right away. Even arrest them.

I want this to be a secret at the moment, so I push off the tension with an excited mode. A fake one.

"Got a big great news, I gave birth to a baby boy."

What follows next is a loud squeal. So loud that my phone slips off in shock.

A heavy sigh elopes off my lips.

"What's up, baby? We should meet for a party?"

I sigh it off. "I did CS."

"Eeeeehhh." She grunt sadly. “I wanted to party, girl.”

"Yeah. I wanna ask you something. Know a good nanny? Personally or an agency?"

I listen with hope. A few seconds passed, then her voice surfaced on the line.

"Want that? Sure, I can get you."

A grateful smile crosses my lips. "Yap, I'll be so grateful."

"When do I expect? I'll pay a good amount."

"Wait! Isn't your husband the one to sort this out for you? Is everything alright with you guys?"

Silence wades in. I don't know what to say.

"Nah! Nah! I wanted to do it myself, with someone I trust.” I suddenly say.

I wait, she says nothing.

"I gotta go now, just returning from the hospital. Chat ya." I dip in a nice tone before clicking the red button and ending the call.

I sit up, inhaling and exhaling loudly. She almost caught me.

Gosh!

My eyes go to my baby the next second and I'm sliding beside him, kissing his forehead, lips and cheeks.

“They will never get you!”

Elliot’s POVI try cracking my brain but still won't get the answer. Her eyes go down to her baby, soothing it as it clings to her nipple for life. Now covered but the image of her exposed big boob comes up again. Shitt! I slap my thigh. Especially that I'm staring at her, it's making it so hard for me to forget. That boob. So big and plumpy. A massive jolt spirals over my body. “Why can't I just forget this?” I cry aloud in spirit. God, forgive me. I was going to deal with Edward in any way but not desiring his wife. This is the last thing I want to do. Coveting someone's wife. My brother's wife.I notice a grin slightly breaking off her lips. The red on her cheeks. She knows what she's doing. I gulp. "Are we talking about this deal or not?” I ask when I see that this call isn't progressing. She hesitates, focusing on her baby, pretending like she didn't hear. Eva sighs from her seat, shaking her head as her eyes lock with mine. Something like, ‘You got this on yourself.’

  • The Betrayed Surrogate Wife's Revenge    Chapter 4

Elliot's POVMy heart swells with pride fitting these people into my servant rack. Honestly I was expecting them to reject my deal. But guess what, they didn't. I turn to my assistant, blushing so wide. Eva smirks, a bit disappointed. She's been listening to the call. She turns on the couch, facing me who's lying on the sofa with my phone in hand."How are you sure this woman is going to deliver?” “Why do you think so?” I frown. “You know she's been on the leading front of hating you ever since she got married to Edward?” “Yes true, but have you forgotten she's a business woman? Who will reject a deal scaling into millions?” I ask Eva and she can't answer. She retains that skeptical face of hers. Just like me, Eva has never liked my stepbrother and his wife for once, for her past three years of being my assistant. Hearing how Edward's mom, the mistress, seduced my dad outside and coming in to chase my mom out of her matrimonial home is one thing I can't easily forgive and

  • The Betrayed Surrogate Wife's Revenge    Chapter 3

Luna's POVI remain here for the next few hours, lying beside my baby while wrecking my brain on what to do. Thank God for postpartum depression and what they did to me at the hospital, my solitude turns out as no big deal. However, they still come knocking on my door, yelling my name. I already told them I needed time alone. Enough excuse to ignore them. Jane pills up a couple of messages, I view but won't reply. At last, she presumes I'm asleep and asks me to reply when I'm awake. The knocks on the door however won't stop. At some point, I can't bear it any longer. I yell at them. “Come on, I'm tired and weak. Breastfeeding my baby too. Let me have some peace.” “Come out girl, why go, stick yourself inside? We're afraid you might hurt yourself and the baby.” Shit! I rise, scurrying towards the door and opening it. "What's your problem?” Edward steps up. “We wanted to make sure you're fine.” But I look deep into his eyes and soul, smirking in my mind. Making sure I'm fin

Three hours ago, I was fighting for my life in the labor room before the doctor suggested an emergency Caesarian section. They had called Edward a million times but he never picked any of his calls.
