Luna's POV

I remain here for the next few hours, lying beside my baby while wrecking my brain on what to do.

Thank God for postpartum depression and what they did to me at the hospital, my solitude turns out as no big deal.

However, they still come knocking on my door, yelling my name. I already told them I needed time alone. Enough excuse to ignore them.

Jane pills up a couple of messages, I view but won't reply. At last, she presumes I'm asleep and asks me to reply when I'm awake.

The knocks on the door however won't stop. At some point, I can't bear it any longer.

I yell at them.

“Come on, I'm tired and weak. Breastfeeding my baby too. Let me have some peace.”

“Come out girl, why go, stick yourself inside? We're afraid you might hurt yourself and the baby.”

Shit!

I rise, scurrying towards the door and opening it.

"What's your problem?”

Edward steps up. “We wanted to make sure you're fine.”

But I look deep into his eyes and soul, smirking in my mind. Making sure I'm fine or the baby?

Celine brushes past me, walking in and straight at the baby but I race across her to make sure I pick my boy before she sets hands on him.

I swipe my loose blouse down, sticking his little mouth to my nipples.

I lift my eyes to see Celine staring with a frown while Edward slowly strides in, hungrily glaring at my boobs.

“What's it?” I sneer.

He shifts back a bit, frowning. .

“There's no food in the refrigerator, so we're going outside to eat.”

"How's she gonna feed? Who will cook for her?" Celine whines.

"Is that sarcasm?" I lash at her but she flares her hands in the air, flickering her lashes.

"I come in peace.”

"Let's go, let's go!" Edward grabs her wrist and both are about to walk out when Edward's phone rings.

He sticks his hand into his pocket, dragging his phone out.

The name on the screen gets him squeezing his face so tight. I sit up, curious.

Jane comes to mind.

Is it her calling? Oh no! I bash my forehead, recalling that I didn't reply to all of her messages and rush to pick my phone only to hear Edward call.

“Bro.”

A name I haven't heard him mention in months. So far as I know but yet to confirm he has only one sibling. A stepbrother and both are loggerheads with each other.

The entire room goes into stiff silence as I listen over the call. Even Celine knows what Elliot is capable of.

He folds his fist, gritting his teeth.

Before now, I'd be worried, even rising to stand by him but I'm just here, quietly watching, unbothered.

"You took all of papa's inheritance saying I was the son of a mistress, how could I take you on such a tour?"

Edward yells but looks at me.

A shiver runs down my spine.

Tour of what? And why's Edward now looking at me like the call has something to do with me?

"Imagine?" His face flips to Celine.

He whispers. "Because he knows I've stayed here for a long time, now he needs my help."

My pulse leaps up, hearing this. I try to figure what this is about only to see Edward walk towards me with his hand extended.

I frown.

“What's it?” I ask, jaw clenched. Elliot is someone I hate to the bones but from a distance knowing how powerful he is.

The closer he gets, the harder my chest pounds.

"Take and speak with him.” He gives no reason and then shoves the phone into my hand. I take it though but with a shaking hand.

If he's trying to set me up so his brother attacks him, I won't take it kindly.

I swear deep down. Because why the hell does he want to speak with me?

I take a moment, drag in a deep breath before grumbling an ‘hello.’

"Hello Luna, right?" His fierce, masculine tone comes up.

"Yes, I am." I say after a while. “How may I help?”

Edward throws his fist at me, mouthing, "Better not tell him anything about us.”

The confusion doubles.

Seems he didn't plan this. Probably a coincidence but to evade the argument, I nod.

"I really need your assistance,” Elliot says eagerly. “I heard you are an event planner?"

The tour Edward just whispered suddenly makes more sense and another thought drifts in.

“Yes.” I reply.

My frown is replaced with curiosity.

“Which event do you wanna plan?”

Edward steps up in front of me again, lip syncing. "Do and give me my phone." I blink away, ignoring him.

"The event will be coming up this Winter." Elliot says.

"Really?”

That's almost six months from now. Enough time to recover from my caesarean section.

“What's the event about?” I ask.

"We want to test our cars' durability with harsh weather conditions."

This is the first time I'll be handling such an event but declining right now is the very last on the list.

I hum.

“So let me get it clearly. GRUX motor is having a display ceremony in the snow?”

“Exactly. Can you do this?”

“Yes, of course.”

Edward is tight-faced in front of me. I grin, raising his hurt mode. The way I'm even talking to Elliot, loose and informal for someone we both hated is burning him out.

And I'm liking it. He's having his own cup of tea. Anything that'll hurt him, I'm set.

Besides merely hurting, this is gonna benefit me.

The exposure from working with such a big car brand.

The huge price tag that will come with it.

And most especially….

Revenge.

My heart is scaling fast now in anticipation.

Within these few seconds, I'm already picturing how everything will be. The best location for it, the schedule for that day.

Just a rough sketch.

“I got you.” I utter with a smile.

Edward is too pissed that he walks over and whispers something to Celine but I don't even give a damn.

"I'll send you more details on W******p. Make sure to message me." Elliot notifies.

The deal is just a step off to be sealed.

“Alright. Thanks.”

With an unbothered face, I lean to hand Edward the phone only to remember I have to share the number to myself.

Even when I'm done and hand him his phone, he refuses to leave. Still standing there, looking at me with hesitant eyes like he has something to say.

To decline this deal perhaps.

Never!

His greatest enemy who took all of his possible inheritance hiring me for a job is a direct slap to his face.

I'll be a fool not to accept.

To even spice it more, I fake my voice in persuasion.

"Honey, I'm sorry this is making you feel hurt but we can rip him off with this single deal.”

“Up to millions.” I claim. “Many millions. This is going to be a super show.”

I know how vulnerable both of them are when it comes to money.

In fact, the instant I mention this, I watch as their eyes which were dark with envy glowing with mischief.

First step done!

I fire in another banger.

“Our wedding is gonna be the talk of a decade.”

The first smile lights up Edward's face. He looks at Celine, both wink at each other.

But I just smile. They must be excited over how naive and foolish I am.

"Hey, the wedding gown should be expensive as hell.” Celine demands.

I'm almost flinching with the audacity but remembering I'm playing this game with them, I nod amicably.

“Of course. You will assist me with that, right?”

She nods and hugs her acclaimed son.

My lips curl into a wicked grin, too swift for them to notice.

Edward comes from nodding Celine to say, "The rest of the money will be put in for our child's trust fund.”

Their child. Yes, as they think. So they will kick me out and run away with my baby.

I maintain my calm.

"That sounds like a good idea." I concur.

But I won't deny how their demands and words are spiking a fierce heat in my chest. One, which is almost exploding.

I'm not going to give them a clue.

Celine flips her hair seductively.

To every demand they make, I continue to nod.

I watch as they walk arm in arm, towards the door and into the garage. They get into the car and drive off.

They are done with making their demands and to them everything is gonna turn out perfectly.

Little do they know what's waiting for them.

Elliot’s POVI try cracking my brain but still won't get the answer. Her eyes go down to her baby, soothing it as it clings to her nipple for life. Now covered but the image of her exposed big boob comes up again. Shitt! I slap my thigh. Especially that I'm staring at her, it's making it so hard for me to forget. That boob. So big and plumpy. A massive jolt spirals over my body. “Why can't I just forget this?” I cry aloud in spirit. God, forgive me. I was going to deal with Edward in any way but not desiring his wife. This is the last thing I want to do. Coveting someone's wife. My brother's wife.I notice a grin slightly breaking off her lips. The red on her cheeks. She knows what she's doing. I gulp. "Are we talking about this deal or not?” I ask when I see that this call isn't progressing. She hesitates, focusing on her baby, pretending like she didn't hear. Eva sighs from her seat, shaking her head as her eyes lock with mine. Something like, ‘You got this on yourself.’

  • The Betrayed Surrogate Wife's Revenge    Chapter 4

Elliot's POVMy heart swells with pride fitting these people into my servant rack. Honestly I was expecting them to reject my deal. But guess what, they didn't. I turn to my assistant, blushing so wide. Eva smirks, a bit disappointed. She's been listening to the call. She turns on the couch, facing me who's lying on the sofa with my phone in hand."How are you sure this woman is going to deliver?” “Why do you think so?” I frown. “You know she's been on the leading front of hating you ever since she got married to Edward?” “Yes true, but have you forgotten she's a business woman? Who will reject a deal scaling into millions?” I ask Eva and she can't answer. She retains that skeptical face of hers. Just like me, Eva has never liked my stepbrother and his wife for once, for her past three years of being my assistant. Hearing how Edward's mom, the mistress, seduced my dad outside and coming in to chase my mom out of her matrimonial home is one thing I can't easily forgive and

Luna's POV My hands go to my head. I'm breathless. I stand here fidgeting and all of the words as they say come echoing back. My skin is breaking with beads of sweat even when the weather isn't sunny. Scammer. This word rings hard in my head. Look at the kind of person I've been living with. I shrug my shoulders. Right now, I'm trying my hardest to breathe. Their attitude at the hospital makes even more sense now. So they wanted me only for the baby? Jeeezzz! I jump up with the little energy left in me, storming towards them when his so-called mom cuts in just as I'm about to grab the door. "But what will she think? She might sue us for deceiving her?" Exactly, what I had in mind. "Who gives a fuck? Did we have any real, written agreement that I'll marry her?"We had. Seems he has forgotten. A creepy smile forms on my lips. I've got something to hold him tight. His laughter wades in. "Sue us over the fake marriage agreement we signed? Burst my brain!” The smile on my

Do you know the amount I spent on you is enough to do some important things?” I tilt my head in wonder, lips twitching in shock. I can't even comprehend. “What's wrong hun?” I'm forced to ask. Three hours ago, I was fighting for my life in the labor room before the doctor suggested an emergency Caesarian section. They had called Edward a million times but he never picked any of his calls. While my breath was failing, I was presented with the consent form. Since he wasn't here, I had to sign. Because seeing this, anyone will think he's out of his senses. His mom is even here, folding her arms across her chest, not stopping him. What I'm thinking now is, is he
