Emilia POV

It’s been a week now. Yeah, a whole damn week since we made out at the lakeside, and I haven’t seen him again. Jettison fucking Maltideon. Which makes me wonder—had I been used again?

I glanced one more time at the toast frying in the pan, trying to see if it was ready, but the truth was I wasn’t even seeing it. My eyes were open, but my mind wasn’t here. With a heavy sigh, I dropped the spatula, turned off the gas, and dragged myself to the chair in the kitchen.

I’ve been like this every single day for the past week, waking, working, and replaying that scene in my head until everything blurs. I don’t even know what this feeling is, but somehow… not seeing him around me anymore feels weird, wrong, and empty.
