Alice

The door slams behind me and the sound echoes around the stupidly large room Reign calls his. I stand there for a second, staring at the wooden frame like maybe if I glare hard enough it will melt. He locked me in here like I’m some criminal. Or a pet. Or whatever sick label he has for me today.

The room is too quiet. His scent hangs everywhere, stuck in the sheets, the pillows, even the damn curtains. It makes me feel trapped in a way I can’t explain, like the walls are too close even though this place is bigger than any room I ever had in my entire life.

I move to the window just to have something to do and try the latch for the tenth time. Still shut tight. I already checked earlier but I’m desperate enough to try again. No luck. Figures.

Hours pass. Or maybe minutes. It all feels the same. The only time the door even cracks open is when someone brings a tray of food inside. They don’t even look at me. They avoid eye contact like I’m contagious. Maybe Reign told them I bite.

  • The Biker Alpha's Lost Mate    Ch.26: Extract The Truth

Reign I spend the days after Jerome's news digging deeper into Cass, the last Alpha still breathing from the three who destroyed Sawmoon. Viktor hides under Jackal's pack protection now, but Cass operates from the shadows, using a false name and running his dealings like the coward he always was. The informant sends me fragments of information, a location here, a meeting there, and I follow each lead carefully. I keep the details from most of the crew because the traitor remains among us, leaking information to Jackal, and I cannot afford for this to reach the wrong ears too soon. The strongest lead directs us to an old warehouse district on the edge of neutral territory, where Cass reportedly meets suppliers under his new identity. I decide to take only Jerome and Knox with me, leaving the others to guard the compound and keep an eye on Alice. I do not trust her to stay put if she senses I am away for long. We ride out at night, engines throttled low, lights off for most of the tri

  • The Biker Alpha's Lost Mate    Ch.25: Playful Owen

Alice I turn around fast, my heart still racing from backing into that solid wall, and there stands Owen with his arms crossed and that usual smirk on his face like he just caught me doing something I shouldn't. His dark hair falls a little over his forehead, and he leans against the wall casually as ever, like he has been there the whole time watching me eavesdrop.“What are you sneaking around for, Alice?” he asks, his voice low and teasing, sending a little shiver down my spine for some reason. Then the cologne hits my nose strongly, that sharp mix with something woody, and it feels familiar in a way that makes my stomach twist because I cannot place where I smelled it before.I straighten up trying to act normal even though my face probably gives away that I am flustered. “I was not sneaking. I live here remember? What are you doing lurking in the hallways?”He chuckles softly and pushes off the wall… stepping closer so I have to look up at him a bit. “Came to see Reign actually

  • The Biker Alpha's Lost Mate    Ch.24: Murder Secret

Alice I wander through the house late at night when sleep refuses to come and the room starts to feel too stuffy even with the windows open to the cool air outside. The old bruises from fights have healed enough that they do not hurt much anymore but my thoughts keep turning over everything that has happened, the ambush in the bush the way those men chased me, the blackout and waking up with Reign holding me covered in blood from his stab wound. He has suddenly been acting differently since that day keeping an eye on me without the usual arguments and the bond pulls at me in ways that annoy me. I don't want to notice how it makes me feel safer or something close to it. Gabe tells me all the time to try settling here to see that it is not as bad as rogue life, but I still catch myself looking for an exit… planning in my head even if I know leaving right now would put me straight in Jackal's path. The hallways are dark with only a couple lights left on low and I walk in my crocs so

  • The Biker Alpha's Lost Mate    Ch.23: Until Everyone Pays

ReignI sit in the back room with the maps spread out on the table, a half-empty bottle of whiskey beside me. The nights have stretched long lately. I keep trying to piece together who leaked our race route during that ambush, who feeds Jackal details about our moves. The crew stays on edge. Everyone watches everyone else. I hate it. My crew used to feel solid, no questions about loyalty. Now doubt hangs everywhere. Alice keeps her distance since she woke up after blacking out in the woods. She insists she can handle herself. Gabe checks in more often, worried about her. I let him. At least someone watches when she refuses to let me close.Jerome knocks once on the door, then walks in without waiting. He carries his phone in hand, his face serious. He shuts the door quietly, stands there a second, looks at the maps."Boss, I just got off the phone with our informant, the one in the old territories," he whispers. His voice stays low. He does not want anyone outside to hear, even thoug

  • The Biker Alpha's Lost Mate    Ch.22. The Results of the Investigation

RyderThe hall is packed tonight, fuller than usual, every bench taken, men leaning against the walls, arms crossed, faces tight and serious. The smell of oil, sweat, and metal hangs thick in the air, mixed with the faint sting of antiseptic that still clings to me from the clinic. My side aches with every breath, the stitches pulling when I move, but I ignore it as I step forward. Pain is the least of my problems right now.I let my eyes sweep over them slowly, one face at a time. These are my men. My crew. The same ones who rode with me, bled with me, drank with me. And somewhere in this room might be the person who handed Jackal an opening on a silver platter.“Everyone who was around that night stays right where they are,” I say, my voice calm but hard. The hall quiets fast, the usual noise gone like someone flipped a switch. “No one leaves until we’re done.”Jerome stands a little to my right, arms folded, jaw set. Owen is near the front, leaning back against a table lazily.I ta

  • The Biker Alpha's Lost Mate    Ch.21: Taking Responsibility

RyderI carry Alice back toward the pack house with her weight pressed against my chest, her head lolling weakly against my shoulder, her hair tangled with leaves and dirt. My arm tightens around her without me thinking about it, like if I loosen even a little she will slip away. The woods are still loud behind us with distant engines fading and voices shouting, Jerome and the rest already chasing after Jackal’s men, their boots tearing through the underbrush. I can hear them even as we move away, the hunt still on, unfinished and ugly.My side burns like hell. Every step sends a sharp reminder straight through my ribs where the blade went in earlier, warm blood soaking through my shirt and sticking to my skin. I grit my teeth and keep moving because stopping is not an option. Not with Alice like this. Not when her breathing is shallow and uneven against my neck. The pack house lights come into view through the trees and that’s when people start rushing toward us. Owen is the first on
