Asher's POV

It would have been easy to give up on searching for her if she doesn't keep showing up in my dreams.

Aliyah wouldn't stop appearing in every of my daily lives. I wouldn't stop worrying about her, and papa wouldn't stop going crazy because his daughter left him, disappeared into thin air.

I walked through the hallway of papa's house and found him in his study like I've mostly done.

A sigh escaped my lips when my gaze landed on him. “Not again, papa”

I moved closer, each step echoing in the empty room filled with nothing but papa's painful groans.

He was passed out on the floor, barely seeing anything and surely not even registering the fact that I came in.

Bottles of alcohol were sprawled on the floor around him, and he was on the floor rolling slightly and muttering some words.

I could hear it clearly, her name. “Aliyah”

“Where's my daughter, Aliyah.”

“Who took Aliyah? She wouldn't leave without telling me”
