I walked down the street, wondering if the smirk was permanently etched on my face. At least Alpha Kane now knew I acted like that all the time.

Even with a new Alpha in charge, everything about this small pack had changed into a large pack with modern conveniences. Everyone in the pack had changed. Unfortunately, none of the jerks had changed.

I wandered around aimlessly, missing the taste of mocha on my tongue.

"Were we supposed to pour coffee on him?" I grumbled.

Nova rolled her eyes. "What else did you expect us to do?"

"I don't know." I sighed. "Punch him in the throat?"

Nova's ears perked up. "Fuck, I wish I'd thought of that. Can we go back?"

I smirked at her. "Maybe next time. I'm sure this won't be the last time he says something stupid." "You promise?" Nova sounded hopeful.

***

A strange thought flashed through my mind and I remembered the swimming hole Marcus and I used to go to. We never told anyone about it; we kept it between us. It was one of the most magical places I'd ever seen. It was deep in the woods, off the beaten path. The best thing about the swimming hole was that the patrol groups never got close enough to find it.

On impulse, I turned around and headed towards the woods. I passed countless large, modern, rich houses and many luxury stores until there were too many buildings that had many offices in them. The largest building was the Sterling Empire. All this shows is how rich Alpha Kane Sterling is. I crossed a modern street and passed a playground for children. I glanced back to make sure no one was watching and slipped into the woods.

It was almost a thirty-minute hike through the woods until I heard the sound of running water.

A smile spread across my face as I looked at the swimming hole. It looked even better than before.

The water was crystal clear. The waterfall above roared as it fell onto the surface of the pond.

Marcus and I had spent countless years sneaking to the swimming hole.

As I looked at the spot, all the memories that accompanied it came flooding back to me. I was surprised at how happy I felt. It had taken me almost six months to fully recover from Marcus, but now I was completely at peace.

“Well, are you just going to stand here and watch him?” Nova teased.

I giggled and stripped down to my bra and underwear, laying my clothes on one of the many trees. I climbed to the top of the waterfall and jumped in with a squeal of delight. The cool water felt wonderful on my hot skin. It was the best way to cool off after hours of gardening.

I swam under the waterfall, giggling as it crashed over my head, causing strands of my hair to stick to my face.

I took a deep breath of the damp air around me. The smell was always one of my favorite parts of the hidden swimming hole. It smelled like clean water and damp earth.

My mind wandered back to when Marcus and I used to come here. We had some pretty wild make-out sessions here, and sometimes I would let him roam his hands all over my body. Luckily, we never went any further than that.

I let my mind wander and was surprised when Alpha Kane entered my thoughts. Even though the man irritated me to no end, it was fun to piss him off. I thought about how he looked this morning, how his anger made him even sexier. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I realized my hand had traveled much lower down my body, running over my wet slit.

While my brain recoiled at the thought of touching Alpha Kane, it had been so long since I had pleasured myself. I sighed softly as my finger brushed over my clit.

My head snapped forward, hearing the rustling of the bushes. I chalked it up to a deer or some other animal.

The cool water turned hot as Alpha Kane came into view, his toffee eyes swirling with gold.

My breath caught in my throat, and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. How the hell did he find me here? Had he followed me?

I yanked my hand out of my underwear and slid into the water. My heart was pounding in my chest at the thought of him catching me, but I couldn’t tell if it was embarrassment or excitement. I sank into the water up to my collarbones, keeping my eyes on his face.

“Get out of the water, Zara.” His rough voice commanded me, and I felt everything inside me clench.

I looked at him stubbornly, wondering what he was thinking of doing. I wasn’t wrong. I was just minding my own business, enjoying myself and the water. He was the one who had come and disturbed my peace.

“Zara.” His voice was a warning. I was already testing his patience, even though he didn’t have much free time.

“Get out of the water.” He snapped, his muscular body tense. A little relaxation would do him good.

I stared at his godlike face. “No.”

“No?” His eyebrow rose as his eyes burned into mine.

My skin. He sounded like he’d never heard that word before.

“Did I stutter?” My glare quickly turned into a smirk as I felt the anger radiating off him. Any other wolf would have cowered in fear right now. I wondered why I was different.

His voice took on that calm tone that sent shivers down my spine. “Have you forgotten what I told you this morning yet?”

My smirk widened. “I haven’t forgotten, I just decided I don’t care.”

“Get out of the water, Zara.” His eyes were much more golden now. “This is the last time I repeat myself.”

I allowed myself to take a good look at him in that moment. His loose black T-shirt hugged every ridge of his muscles as his biceps struggled to break free of the material.

“If you want me out, you’re going to have to come and get me.” I shrugged. There was no way he was going to come here and pull me out. He’d probably just leave and confront me later. How many threats could he make before he did something?

I nearly choked on the air in my lungs as he sauntered forward, stepping into the water, ignoring his wide boots as if they weren’t there.

I was grateful that my breasts and torso were submerged; the only thing visible was my neck and face.

“Don’t you dare,” I warned him, letting myself float back and away from him.

He cut through the water as if it weren’t there. I let out an angry yelp as he grabbed me roughly and threw me over his shoulder.

“Let me go, now!” I screamed at him, letting my fists pound into his dull, chiseled back. Anger boiled in my veins as he waded through the water with me over his shoulder. What reason did he have to follow me and torment me?

Alpha Sterling walked through the water as if it weren’t there. I felt my bare back hit the rough bark of the tree, and I knew that if I looked, there would be a multitude of scratches on it.

I raised my arms to cover my chest, cursing myself for not wearing a bra that would have provided a little more coverage. The purple lace push-up bra I was wearing squeezed my breasts together and made them impossible to ignore.

“Don’t close yourself off from me.” He growled, yanking my arms down so that they were at my sides. I stared into his golden eyes, searching for any movement. His eyes were focused on my own, not even glancing at my breasts.

“What were you doing, Zara?” he growled, my name rolling off his tongue like a seductive song.

I stuttered to answer. It was hard to think with him standing so close to me, my chest pressed against his torso as he cornered me against the tree.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I replied, trying to pull away from him and the tree, but he grabbed my arm and yanked me back into place. I couldn’t fight the throbbing between my legs or the sudden wetness that soaked my panties.

“We’re going to play dumb, huh?” Nova smirked in my head.

He leaned in close enough for me to feel his breath, water dripping from his chin, hitting my temple and running down my cheek.

“You were making too much noise for someone who doesn’t know what I’m talking about.” He growled, and this time I couldn’t resist the urge to look at his lips. He noticed my action and growled.

"Look at me." He demanded, grabbing my chin with his large hand.

I tore my gaze away from his soft lips and stared into his golden eyes. His eyes hardened and I could tell he had overcome his anger. His next words were spoken in a calm voice, but his eyes held all the emotions he chose not to express.

"I warned you, didn't I?" His calm voice sent shivers down my spine and I couldn't help the shudder that ran through me.

"What are you doing?" I snapped as he pressed his thigh between my legs. I nearly screamed when I felt his hand slide over my covered pussy, sending pleasure up my legs.

There was still that terrifying calm in his voice, "I'm finishing what you started, Zara. I have told you countless times that you will be punished for your disobedience." Somehow, I knew it wasn't that easy.

I tried to slap his hand away as his finger descended on my covered pussy. His eyes glittered gold as he roughly grabbed my wrists and pressed them against my stomach.

More words caught in my throat as Alpha began to rub my covered clit. I pressed my lips together, fighting the moan that was building in my throat. There was no way I was letting him think I liked this.

"Please." The word escaped my lips, and I felt my legs tremble as I moved closer to my orgasm.

Alpha's voice was still calm as his eyes looked into my own, "What was that, Zara? Do you want me to continue?" He eased the pressure on my clit and began to pull his hand away.

"Yes, please." I couldn't control my lips anymore.

Alfa removed his hand from my soaked panties and stepped back, his blazing eyes fixed on my flushed face.

"Think about that the next time you openly disobey me." His voice was hard. I watched with shaking legs as he picked up my clothes from the floor and tossed them to me.

"And put something on," he demanded calmly, walking away.

I waited a few minutes until I realized he was gone, and slid down to the ground.

"Fuck." I exhaled, wondering if I had imagined what had happened.

I wondered if he did this to every woman who disobeyed him, and I couldn't help the grimace that appeared on my face. Even though I begged him to stop, my body acted like it was the hottest thing in the world.

“But like you said, placing Canyon right outside my window wasn’t a mistake.” I froze, my entire body tensing.I had time to shower, put on pajamas, and notice Canyon’s dead body without even glancing at my phone.“I’m getting messages.” My voice was small and quiet.Alpha Kane turned to where my frozen gaze was directed, tensing as he noticed the phone.“They were harmless at first.” I muttered, “I thought it was some stupid joke Derek was playing. He was Marcus’s best friend.”“Did the messages say anything about Marcus or his plans?” Alpha Kane asked, his voice tinged with anger.“Not at all.” I muttered, “They were just some cryptic messages about me.”Alpha Kane turned to me, "Let's open this."I nodded and walked slowly to the bed, as if the phone was a ticking time bomb.We both stood in eerie silence as I opened the message, every sound echoing loudly in my ears.Kane's shoulder brushed against mine as I opened the message, and there was one picture. The picture was of me.I w

There was another knock on the door and Dad went to answer it silently. The first thing I saw was Jackson's distraught face. Dad grumbled something unintelligible and let him in."I just found out what happened." Jackson winced. "Do you mind if I stay?"Jackson's eyes darted between me, Dad, and Ryan. I spoke first."Not at all." I shook my head. "I could use some company right now.""I told Sophia what was going on and she said she'd be over soon." Jackson frowned as he walked over to where I was sitting on the couch.Without thinking, Jackson picked up my legs and sat down, placing them in his lap."Did you say he was sitting right outside the window?" Jackson muttered quietly to me, running his fingers up my calves."His eyes were looking right at me," I muttered in the same hushed voice."This isn't just a bully's attack anymore." Jackson frowned. • The Billionaire Alpha Rejected His True Luna   Worst Happened

Canyon sat about ten feet away from us, leaning against a thick oak tree in our backyard. His eyes were shining, his mouth open in a silent scream. A scream that would never leave his parted lips.Like Katie, his throat was torn out. Crimson blood stained his coffee-brown skin.Little did I know that none of the pack would sleep peacefully tonight.Another one of us was dead. Killed in the same way as Katie.Equally disturbing was the location of Canyon's body. It was no coincidence that he was in front of the apartment, against a tree. But what struck me even more was his eyes. They seemed to be looking straight into my bedroom, straight at me.The first thing I did was warn Alpha Kane and his men. There was no explanation, no searching glances falling on me. There were too many coincidences. First, Marcus disappears with his mate. Everyone knew Marcus and I were together. Second, the position of Canyon's body was too perfect. And the location of the murder was too close to home. The

“Competition?” I smirked, almost like Nova. “In case it wasn’t obvious, you’re the one with Marcus. I’m bound to the pack, not Marcus. Has he ever told you about his plans?”I tried to keep my voice casual, hoping she’d spill some information. Something that would make this conversation worth passing on to Alpha Kane. Right now, I have nothing. This conversation was a pointless attempt to quell her raging jealousy.I wanted to ask her about the attacks on our pack, but was it worth giving sensitive information to an outsider? I did not doubt that anything I told her would get back to Marcus, especially if it had anything to do with his former pack.“Oh, no,” Kate smirked, shaking her head. “No way. My mouth is sealed.”“Tell me. What if I knock you out and drag you to my Alpha?” I allowed myself a cruel grin. “Then how are you going to keep Marcus’s plans a secret?”Kate’s grin matched mine, and she leaned closer. I felt my grin slip at her words, and anger began to boil in my veins.

  • The Billionaire Alpha Rejected His True Luna   Sharing Chocolate With CEO

"Here, try it." She took the chocolate bar without saying a word. Zara was not overly emotional. She acted calmly, keeping her cool, and I liked that about her, but now she seemed completely emotional. Then she spoke in a quiet, meek voice."You told me not to disappoint you, and I did."Was that the source of her sudden rage?I collapsed on the sofa behind me, facing her, and shook my head.If anyone had disappointed me, it was my rivals."You did not disappoint, and I am not angry with you," I told her calmly, noticing that she had not finished her tea. "Finish your tea." It was I who gave the order.A barely noticeable smile touched her lips as she wiped away her tears. She finished the hot drink in silence, and I watched her in silence."Did your guests find it strange that I didn't come back for dinner?" She asked, finally turning to face me. Sadness still sat comfortably on her face. I had never seen her so down."I told them you were unwell and that we would meet them another d
